Alpha Sigma Dogs Fraternity House
Leores and Eris pushed through the throng of students gathered at the Alpha Sigma Omega Dogs House, their hearts racing in sync with the pulsating energy around them.
The air was thick with the electrifying anticipation of the football game, a palpable buzz that seemed to vibrate through the very walls of the fraternity.
The fraternity itself loomed before them, a sprawling structure draped in ivy that clung to its timeworn bricks like nature’s embrace.
Laughter and shouts echoed throughout, a symphony of youthful exuberance that blended seamlessly with the vibrant hues of team jerseys—blues, reds, and yellows—splattered across the crowd like a vivid tapestry woven from the threads of school spirit.
As they navigated through the crowd, the unmistakable scent of popcorn and nachos wafted through the corridors, a tantalizing invitation to indulge in the festivities.
It mingled with the earthy aroma of freshly mowed grass from the backyard, where the game was set to unfold, creating a sensory feast that ignited their appetites and fueled their excitement.
Stepping into the main room, Leores felt a surge of awareness wash over him.
The whispers of admiration and curiosity swirled around him like a warm breeze, amplifying the weight of his newfound popularity.
How did I end up here? he thought, glancing around at the sea of faces, all eager to catch a glimpse of the rising star.
It was surreal, just days ago, he was a nameless figure in the background, and now, here he stood, the center of attention amidst a flurry of excitement.
Eris, walking alongside him, noticed the way his cheeks flushed slightly, a mix of pride and bashfulness.
She nudged him playfully. “Looks like you’ve got a fan club now,” she teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Why is he so surprised? He’s always been destined for this, she mused, admiring the way the light caught his tousled hair, making him look almost ethereal amidst the chaotic scene.
“Maybe I should sign autographs,” Leores replied, a hint of humor in his voice, but his thoughts betrayed him.
What if they’re just here for the game? The uncertainty gnawed at him, even as the crowd continued to buzz around them, enveloping them in a cocoon of camaraderie.
“Or you could just enjoy the moment,” Eris suggested, her tone shifting to something more serious, more grounded. She could sense his inner conflict. “You’ve earned it, Leores. Just be yourself.”
As they made their way deeper into the throng, the atmosphere thickened with anticipation for the impending game.
Friends called out to one another, drinks sloshed in cups as they cheered for their team, and the rhythmic thump of music pulsed through the room, a backdrop to the unfolding drama.
Leores caught sight of a group of his teammates across the room, their laughter infectious, and for a fleeting moment, he felt a sense of belonging wash over him.
This is what I’ve always wanted, he thought, but the weight of expectation lingered in the back of his mind.
“Let’s grab some snacks,” he suggested, breaking the tension. “I could use a little fuel before the game.”
“Lead the way!” Eris exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious as they navigated through the vibrant crowd, ready to dive into the excitement of the day.
Eris, with her confidence radiating like sunlight through the clouds, dragged him forward, her eyes scanning the vibrant crowd with a glint of mischief.
I hope Sydney’s here, she thought, her protective instincts flaring at the mere thought of anyone taking advantage of her brother’s newfound allure.
The mere idea of someone potentially stealing his heart sent a flicker of anger through her.
“Leores, motha fuckin' Dixon! You made it, my nigga!” A booming voice cut through the din, and Leores looked up to see Marcus striding toward them, his grin wide enough to rival the sun’s brilliance.
Marcus’s arms were outstretched, ready for a hearty embrace that promised warmth and camaraderie.
“And who’s this?” he asked, his eyes dancing over Eris with a mix of intrigue and appreciation.
Leores gently pushed Marcus away, his instincts kicking in.
He had heard whispers of Marcus's reputation as a genuinely nice guy, yet the last thing he wanted was for rumors to swirl around him and Eris.
“This is my sister Eris; she’s just here to watch the game,” he introduced her, attempting to maintain a calm facade despite the storm of emotions swirling within him.
“Sister?” Marcus echoed, raising an eyebrow as he took in Eris’s beauty—her striking features accentuated by the playful way she held herself.
She wore a fitted jersey that hugged her curves perfectly, drawing admiring glances from those nearby. “You've got some fine taste in siblings, my man.”
Leores rolled his eyes, acutely aware of the implications. Just then, Eris chimed in, her voice playful yet firm.
“Obviously, we’re not related; I just don’t need any more rumors flying around about Leo.” She smiled, a mischievous light dancing in her eyes as she linked her arm through his, the gesture both protective and teasing. “But we’re really close.”
Marcus’s smirk was barely concealed as he observed their playful display.
“Nice to meet you, Eris. You’re just in time for the kickoff,” he said, his gaze lingering on her a moment too long before snapping back to Leores, the excitement palpable in his tone. “So, you ready to show us what you’ve got, man?”
Before Leores could respond, a voice chimed in from behind them, crisp and vibrant against the backdrop of excitement.
“We’ll be joining too.” Both Leores and Eris turned, their eyes landing on Lishcelle, Sydney, and Abbie, all clad in matching team jerseys that shimmered under the afternoon sun.
Eris’s heart raced at the sight of Sydney, a whirlwind of emotions stirring within her.
What will she think of us?*l she pondered, her protective instincts flaring anew.
Leores, on the other hand, felt a mixture of relief and anxiety, unsure of how the girl at the center of the rumors would react to his sister’s presence.
As the group exchanged pleasantries and prepared for the game, the atmosphere crackled with energy, the light of the setting sun casting a golden hue over the yard, where cheers of enthusiasm awaited them.
This is it, Leores thought, determination igniting within him. *It’s time to show them what I can do.*
In the sprawling backyard of the fraternity house, the atmosphere buzzed with a heady mix of excitement and tension.
The vibrant lights strung overhead cast playful shadows on the lawn, where Lishcelle and Eris stood, their icy stares locked in a silent duel.
The tension between them was nearly palpable, like the calm before a storm.
"Oh, what's up, guys? You all came? I thought you were more of the girly-girl type," Leores called out, attempting to slice through the charged atmosphere with his casual banter.
Abbie, with a mischievous glint in her eye, responded, "I am, but these two dragged me along... and I found a cute guy too." Her gaze drifted toward a tall, muscular player warming up nearby, her tone tinged with playful admiration.
Why does she always have to be here? Lishcelle mused, her thoughts a whirl of annoyance and determination. "Eris," she greeted, her voice sharp and cold. "What are you doing here?"
Eris leaned in closer, her voice honeyed with insincerity. "Lishcelle," she replied, her eyes narrowing in feigned innocence.
"I came to support my brother. You know, since he's such a big shot around here now." Her gaze flicked momentarily to Leores before returning to Lishcelle, the tension between them crackling like static electricity.
"Plus, it's my birthday, so..." Eris added, clinging to Leores with a triumphant grin. "He has to do whatever I say."
Lishcelle's eyes narrowed further, her mind simmering with frustration.
Can't she just leave us alone? Beside her, Sydney stepped forward, placing a protective hand on Lishcelle's arm.
"It's okay, Lish. Let's just play the game," she advised, her voice a gentle yet firm reminder to Eris.
Leores sighed, rubbing his face in exasperation. Why can't they find common ground? he wondered, glancing between the two girls.
"Alright, enough of this. It's a football game, not a catfight. Let's just play and have fun," he urged, hoping to redirect the focus back to the festivities and away from the simmering discord.
All the girls sauntered over to join the rest of the female participants, leaving Leores standing with Marcus amidst the bustling backyard.
The night air was filled with laughter and chatter as the festivities continued around them.
"So, you got a type, Leo?" Marcus asked, his tone dripping with playful accusation. He nodded toward the trio of girls who had just joined the group, a teasing grin on his face.
Leores sighed, a hint of annoyance threading through his voice. "Don't call me that name, and what do you mean Marcus?" He was hoping to nip the teasing in the bud. "And no, I don't have a type. They're just friends."
Marcus laughed, unfazed by Leores' attempt to deflect. "Come on now, you got four baddies with you, you can't tell me you don't have a type," he teased, giving Leores a friendly slap on the back.
Trying to shift the conversation, Leores raised an eyebrow. "Marcus, what god do you believe in?"
Marcus chuckled, throwing his hands up in mock praise. "Oh, you know I'm all about that Jesus life, man. Why you ask?"
Leores met his gaze with a straight face, his eyes glinting with a playful yet slightly literal tone. "Hit my back that hard again... I'm going to send you to him."
Marcus burst into laughter, the camaraderie between them evident despite the playful banter.
The night continued on, full of lighthearted moments and the unspoken bonds of friendship.
Marcus chuckled, acknowledging Leores' subtle warning. "Alright, alright. Just making sure you're keeping your head on straight, man," he said with a grin, letting the topic drop.
Meanwhile, over with the girls, Lishcelle stood a bit apart while Eris, Sydney, and Abbie watched the guys warming up on the sidelines.
The camaraderie was palpable, with laughter and light banter filling the air.
"So, are you really Leores's sister, Eris?" Sydney inquired, her voice curious and friendly.
"Oh, yeah. My parents adopted him when he was 13," Eris replied, a warm smile gracing her face. "I didn't like him at first; I thought my parents were trying to replace me. But once I got to know him... well, I was practically inseparable from him." Her eyes sparkled with affection at the memory.
"That's really sweet," Sydney said, genuinely interested. "What was he like back then?"
Eris paused, reflecting. "To be honest, not much different, personality-wise anyway. But he's way more expressive now—like a caterpillar turned into a butterfly," she said, her gaze drifting to the field where the guys were playing catch.
Sydney nodded, understanding the transformation. "So, you guys are close?" she asked, hoping to find some common ground.
Eris giggled, her laughter light. "Very close, we're like peanut butter and jelly," she said, making a sandwich gesture with her hands.
"But let's not talk about that. Tell me more about you two," she added, turning her attention to Sydney and Abbie.
"Well, I'm Abbie," the shorter girl chimed in with a friendly smile, extending her hand. "I've known Lishcelle for a couple of weeks now and Leores for a day or two. But he's quite the charmer," she teased, giving Sydney a gentle nudge.
Sydney chuckled, joining in the lightheartedness.
The conversation flowed easily, weaving new threads of friendship amidst the backdrop of the energetic backyard gathering.
Sydney couldn't help but giggle at the exchange, her cheeks still warm with a blush. "Yeah... He does have a unique way of charming people," she admitted, her eyes momentarily meeting Leores' across the field.
He caught her gaze and gave a small wave, causing her to smile despite herself.
"Mhm, guess you fell for his spell, huh Sydney?" Eris teased, her eyes sparkling with playful mischief.
Sydney felt the blush intensify, creeping up her neck. "Well... maybe. I mean, God, he's so hot!" She fanned herself dramatically, eliciting laughter from the group.
"Trust me, I know that all too well~" Eris replied with a knowing smile. Abbie, watching Eris closely, seemed to be putting pieces together in her mind. Suddenly, realization dawned on her.
"Eris... You didn't..." Abbie gasped, her eyes darting to Leores, who was still engrossed in his conversation with Marcus.
Eris and Sydney exchanged puzzled glances, clearly unaware of what Abbie was implying. "What are you talking about, girl?" Eris asked, genuinely confused.
"You two had sex, didn't you?" Abbie blurted out, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and glee.
Sydney choked on her drink, trying to stifle her surprise and amusement. "What? Abbie, that's a huge accusation," she sputtered, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Trust me, Sydney. For someone who sleeps with a lot of guys, I know when a girl has had some really, really good experiences," Abbie said, her voice bubbling with excitement despite her attempt to keep it low.
Eris just grinned and giggled, leaving the question hanging in the air, the implication clear yet unspoken.
The uncertainty gnawed at Sydney, and she leaned closer to Eris, whispering, "Is that true?"
"Sorry, I don't kiss and tell," Eris replied with a sly smile, her gaze still lingering on Leores. "But I will say this: Leo's a good guy, and he deserves to be happy. And if he makes you happy, then I'm happy," she added, giving Sydney a knowing look.
Just then, Chad emerged from the house, grabbing a microphone. "Alright, everyone, let's get this show on the road! We've got a mixed-gender match, so let's keep it clean and friendly!" he announced, his voice booming through the backyard.
The crowd cheered, and everyone began to organize into two teams, with Leores and Marcus on one side and the girls, along with the rest of the frat guys and some girls from other fraternities, on the other.
Chad continued, addressing the gathered crowd. "Now, I know there are some suspicions about the Alpha Sigma Omega Dogs due to one of our former members, Keshawn, attacking fellow student Leores. But as president of ASOD, I do not condone such actions, and we stand by Clearwater University's zero-tolerance policy on violence. Let's keep the rivalry on the field where it belongs."
Leores watched Chad, his mind racing. So, this football game is a way for him to do crowd control and clean up his fraternity's image after what happened last night? He has pretty good people skills, Leores thought to himself.
As the game kicked off, the crowd erupted in cheers, their attention riveted on the players.
Eris, with her surprising athleticism, quickly became a standout on the field.
She moved with speed and agility, her throws strong and precise.
The guys on her team were visibly impressed as she deftly dodged and weaved through the opposing team's defense, proving to be a formidable force in the game.
Sydney, Abbie, and Lishcelle found themselves on Eris's team.
While they couldn't quite match the strength of some of the boys, their agility and ability to run plays added a strategic edge to their game.
Lishcelle, in particular, played with unexpected aggression, perhaps motivated by Eris's impressive performance.
She had to admit, Eris had some serious skills.
On the opposing team, Marcus and Leores formed a dynamic duo.
Their team comprised a diverse group of students, and the synergy between Marcus and Leores was evident.
They moved in perfect harmony, their strategic minds working as one, a testament to their deep understanding of the game.
The crowd roared when they scored a touchdown, the energy of their supporters driving their competitive spirit.
Eris was a revelation on the field, her athletic prowess catching everyone by surprise.
Leading a team of students from various backgrounds, she shone brightly, her every move executed with precision.
Her fiery spirit and innate talent made her a formidable opponent, one who commanded respect from all.
Marcus took the opportunity to bond with Leores, offering pointers and praise, which Leores appreciated.
However, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of annoyance whenever Marcus's gaze lingered on Eris a bit too long.
Meanwhile, Eris was in her element, her laughter and cheers ringing out joyfully as she reveled in the thrill of the game.
As the tournament progressed, both teams crushed their opponents, setting the stage for an epic showdown in the finals.
The tension between Leores, Eris, and the others was almost tangible, yet on the field, it was all about skill and strategy.
The teams took to the field, the air thick with anticipation.
Marcus and Leores were undoubtedly the MVPs on their side, their synergy unmatched.
Yet, Eris stood out as the star of the show. Her exceptional skill earned her not only the title of MVP but also newfound respect from the male players who had initially underestimated her.
As both teams prepared for the final match, Leores and Marcus huddled with their teammates, discussing strategies and positions.
Across the field, Eris was surrounded by her admirers, eager to glean insights from her tactical brilliance.
The excitement in the air was palpable, promising a thrilling finale to the day’s events.
"Damn, Leores, I have to admit... I might play football more than you and Eris, but holy shit, you guys have got some serious strategy and raw talent. You're a dangerous combo," Marcus said, giving Leores a firm pat on the back, his eyes filled with newfound respect.
Leores smirked slightly, "Thanks, I learned from the best," he replied, acknowledging Eris's influence. "But we've got them beat. You and I are the two best on our team, while Eris is pretty much carrying hers. Everyone else is just following her lead and trying to keep up."

Marcus nodded, casting a glance over at Eris, who was still engrossed in strategizing with her team.
"She's something else, isn't she?" he remarked, his tone a mix of admiration and bewilderment.
"Yeah, even with a few boys from the football team, they can't keep up with her. And Lishcelle, Sydney, and Abbie might not be the strongest players, but they can run plays really well. I guess it's all about teamwork," Leores chuckled, appreciating the dynamics on both sides.
Marcus pondered their next move, a plan forming in his mind.
"You know what, Leores? I think we have a good play. But you're smart, so you tell me how it works," Marcus said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
Leores raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the challenge.
As Marcus leaned in, whispering his strategic idea, Leores's mind raced, piecing together the plan's potential for a surprise victory.
The gears in his mind turned swiftly, assessing the risk and reward. He nodded, excitement dancing in his eyes.
Gathering the team in a huddle, Leores took charge, with Marcus standing confidently by his side.
"Alright, listen up," Leores began, his voice commanding attention. "Marcus and I have been thinking about this. We've got a play that'll crush them." He nudged Marcus, who nodded with a confident grin.
"Here's the deal," Leores continued, sketching the play in the air with his finger.
"I'll take quarterback, and Marcus, you're my running back. You two," he pointed at the football players, "are our wing backs. Johnson, you're the lead blocker. The rest of you girls," he gestured to Sydney, Abbie, and Lishcelle, "spread out wide as receivers."
Marcus jumped in, "Yeah, and when Leores fakes the handoff to me, those try-hard experienced players will bite so hard they'll lose their teeth." He chuckled, exchanging a fist bump with Leores.
"Exactly," Leores grinned. "They've got experience, but they can't match our speed. Once they commit to Marcus, I'll either keep it or pitch it to the wing. They won't know what hit them."
"For the blocking," Marcus addressed the girls, "don't worry about power—just get in their way. Screen blocks, quick releases, use those angles. We don't need you to pancake anyone."
Leores clapped his hands, the sound snapping the team's focus to him.
"The beauty is, they won't know if I'm keeping it, pitching it, or throwing it. And with our speed?" He shared a confident look with Marcus. "Game over."
"Plus," Marcus added, "everyone's got a job that plays to their strengths. We're not asking anyone to do what they can't—just do your part, and let me and Leores handle the heavy lifting."
Leores wrapped up with a commanding tone, "This is how we're going to win.Their experience won't mean anything when they're eating our dust. Questions?" He scanned the circle, his expression clear that he wasn't really expecting any.
The mix of confidence and slight arrogance in their delivery sent a message—these were two star players who knew their worth and weren't afraid to show it.
The team nodded, their determination palpable as they readied themselves for the final showdown.
The plan was set, and with anticipation buzzing in the air, they were ready to execute it flawlessly on the field.
The final play began with an electrifying intensity, the air buzzing with anticipation and the crowd's energy palpable.
Leores and Marcus positioned themselves at the scrimmage line, the weight of the game resting in Leores' hands as he gripped the ball.
Taking a deep breath, Leores focused on the play they had crafted, feeling the pressure of countless eyes upon him, especially those of Eris and Sydney.
As the whistle blew, he launched into motion, his heart pounding in time with the rhythmic thunder of his cleats against the turf.
Marcus surged forward, a powerful force drawing the defense's attention as he barreled towards them.
Leores waited, his mind calculating the perfect moment like a strategist orchestrating a masterful chess move.
He faked the handoff to Marcus, and just as planned, the defense converged on him, leaving a clear path.
With a swift pivot, Leores veered to the side, the ball securely cradled against his chest.
The girls on his team sprang into action, executing their blocks with precision, creating a protective barrier as he sprinted down the field.
Eris watched in awe, her surprise giving way to excitement, while Lishcelle acknowledged Leores' impressive skill with newfound respect.
Sydney's heart raced as she watched the number 13 blaze across the field, Leores becoming a blur of agility and determination.
He weaved through the defense with a natural grace, as if born to this moment.
The crowd roared as Leores broke through the final line of defense, the end zone tantalizingly close.
Marcus, having drawn the bulk of the defense's focus, seized his chance and took off, catching the defenders by surprise.
Leores launched a perfect spiral, and Marcus snatched the ball mid-stride, crossing the line effortlessly.
The crowd erupted in a frenzy of cheers, their victory celebrated with exuberant applause.
The scoreboard lit up, declaring their triumph, and the team swarmed Marcus and Leores, their camaraderie amplified by the shared success.
It was a moment of pure exhilaration, a testament to teamwork, strategy, and the indomitable spirit of competition.
The team rushed over to congratulate Leores and Marcus, with slaps on the back and high-fives all around.
Eris couldn't help but feel a twinge of pride for her "brother," the smugness in her smile evident.
Sydney, still trying to catch her breath from the excitement, felt a warmth spreading through her chest as she watched Leores' triumph.
In that moment, she realized her feelings for him went beyond friendship; there was something deeper there.
But the game wasn't over yet. One final play remained, the one that would determine the champion.
Both sides of the field buzzed with energy, and Leores knew he had to stay focused.
The teams huddled up again, and Leores glanced over at Eris, who gave him a thumbs up.
Her support fueled his determination. This was his moment to shine, not just for himself, but for her too.
He nodded to Marcus, and they broke the huddle, ready to face whatever challenge awaited them.
As the ball was snapped, Leores dropped back into the pocket, scanning the field for any signs of trouble.
The defensive line charged toward him, but he remained calm, his eyes locked on the receiver running a deep route.
This was the play that could win it all.
The moment the receiver made her break, Leores launched the ball with all his might, his arm a blur as it released the football.
It arced gracefully through the air, a beautiful and precise projectile that seemed to hover in time.
The crowd collectively held their breath, eyes glued to the ball's trajectory as it spiraled toward its target.
The receiver leaped, arms outstretched, as the ball descended.
She caught it cleanly, securing it against her chest just as she crossed the goal line.
The field erupted in cheers, the sound deafening as the realization of victory washed over both the players and the spectators.
Leores was swarmed by his teammates, their jubilation palpable.
Eris and Sydney rushed over, joining the celebration. In that moment, amidst the chaos of victory, friendships were strengthened, and new bonds were forged, marking a triumphant end to an unforgettable game.
A few hours after the game, Leores found himself in the kitchen of the Alpha Sigma Omega Dogs house, surrounded by the aroma of greasy pizza and the chatter of his newfound fraternity brothers and sisters.
Eris was busy holding court, captivating the group with tales of their childhood adventures, her laughter ringing through the room like a bell.
Sydney approached him, her cheeks still flushed from the excitement of the game.
She leaned against the counter, watching as Leores devoured a slice of pizza. "So, what do you think about Eris's football skills?" she asked, her voice low enough for only him to hear.
Leores swallowed his food before answering, a smirk playing on his lips.
"I'm not surprised," he replied. "She's always been the competitive type. I've seen her tackle guys twice her size back in high school. She's a beast on the field."
Sydney nodded, her gaze shifting to Eris. "Yeah, she's something else. But tell me, how did you two become so close?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Leores took a sip of his drink, his expression turning thoughtful. "It's a long story, but basically, she's been there for me since day one. She's like the sister I never had," he said, his tone filled with affection.
Sydney felt a twinge of jealousy at their closeness but quickly pushed it aside.
"It's really sweet how much you guys care for each other," she said, trying to sound casual.
Leores met her gaze, his eyes searching hers. "You know, Sydney, I'm not just playing football for fun," he said seriously. "I'm doing this to get info on the Dogs."
Sydney's heart skipped a beat at his words, surprised by this side of Leores—vulnerable and earnest.
"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Leores sighed, setting his drink down. "You don't think it's fishy that this football game was set up right after a big event, after one of their members tried to kill me?" He leaned in closer, lowering his voice so only Sydney could hear.
Her eyes widened, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "What are you planning to do?" she whispered, her heart racing.
"I need to figure out who's behind this. Whoever it is, they're playing a dangerous game," Leores said, his jaw clenched. "But first, I need to keep my cover. I can't let them know I suspect anything."
Sydney nodded, understanding the seriousness of his mission.
"If there's anything I can do to help, let me know," she offered, her voice steady with determination.
Leores smiled, grateful for her support. "Thanks, Sydney. Having you on my side means a lot," he said, feeling a sense of reassurance amidst the uncertainty of his investigation.
Sydney nodded, taking in the gravity of the situation. "I'll help you," she offered, her voice firm with determination.
"No," Leores replied, shaking his head. "It's too dangerous. You should stay out of it."
Sydney's eyes searched his, looking for any hint of doubt. "But Leores, if you're in danger, I can't just sit on the sidelines," she protested.
"Trust me, I can take care of it. Besides, you already have enough to deal with," Leores said with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. "But I appreciate the offer, really."
Feeling a bit dismissed but understanding his concern for her safety, Sydney relented.
"Okay, but if you need anything, just say the word," she insisted, her eyes steady and sincere.
"I will. Go have some fun with your friends," Leores said, giving her a reassuring pat on the back, encouraging her to enjoy the night.
Sydney took a deep breath, nodding before rejoining her friends.
Meanwhile, Eris sidled up to Leores, a knowing smile on her lips. "You know she's into you, right?"
Leores rolled his eyes, anticipating where this conversation was headed.
"Eris, don't start," he warned, nearly forgetting how nosy she could be.
"Oh, come on, Leo," she teased, poking him playfully in the side. "It's clear as day. And she's not so bad herself. I've seen the way she looks at you."
"Trust me, I already know. It's not exactly a mystery," Leores said, steering the conversation away from his love life. "But I'm guessing you're enjoying yourself here at college for your birthday?"
Eris grinned, biting into a slice of pizza. "You have no idea, Leo. It's like a whole new world out here. And these college parties? They're wild!" she exclaimed, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"Well, that's good. Too bad you have to go back to Shreveport later. You're mostly annoying, but you'll be missed," Leores said, smiling genuinely despite his teasing words.
Eris laughed, nudging him affectionately. "I'll miss you too, even if you won't admit it," she replied, savoring the moment with her brother and the new experiences she'd gained.
"Oh, don't worry," Eris said with a wink. "I'll be back before you know it. Maybe even crash some more parties," she added, her voice dropping to a playful whisper.
Leaning in closer, Eris playfully rubbed her chest against Leores. "Don't worry, I plan on having seconds before I go back~," she teased.
Leores felt both annoyed and oddly turned on by Eris's playfulness. He stepped back, clearing his throat.
"Uh... Come on... That quickie at home this morning wasn't enough?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Eris laughed, a melodic sound filled with mirth. "What can I say, you make me feel alive," she admitted. "But seriously, I'll miss you too, 'bro'."
Leores attempted to maintain his composure. "I don't think it's normal for foster siblings to have sex..." he said, his voice tinged with an attempt at rationality.
"Normal? Psh, who needs normal?" Eris replied with a wink. "But if you're worried about gossip, I'll keep playing the 'sister' card. For now," she added, her voice dropping to a seductive purr.
At the Hughes house
A few hours later, Leores found himself in his room, immersed in his usual training regimen.
He was doing upside-down one-handed pushups on a wooden plank with a single nail, relying only on another plank to prevent the nail from stabbing his hand, all while wearing a 5,590 vest.
This intense workout was his way of clearing his mind and finding focus.
His thoughts raced as he tried to piece together the puzzle of recent events, suspecting that the fraternity was more than just football games and brotherhood.
"I've been in this world for only 18 years, and I've seen everything dark and brutal it has to offer. I've lived, seen death, and killed thousands," Leores thought to himself, sweat dripping down his face as he pushed his body to the limit.
"But even though I know the dark side of human nature, practically since I was able to walk and speak, I never knew why we do this to each other."
As he flipped over and continued his pushups with the other hand, his thoughts drifted back to the party and to Lishcelle, Sydney, Eris, and the others.
The game had brought him closer to the truth but also deeper into a web of lies and deceit. "I need to keep them safe," he murmured, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
In the midst of his training, the door opened, and Eris walked in, her hair pulled back in a ponytail and wearing a tank top and shorts that highlighted her athletic physique.
She looked at him with a smirk. "What the hell are you doing?" she asked, watching his extreme workout.
He looked at her before stopping and wiping his forehead. "Just doing some training, trying to keep my skills sharp," Leores said, attempting to sound casual despite his racing heart.
Eris raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Training for what?" she asked, unable to hide her interest.
"Didn't know it was criminal for me to stay in shape," Leores retorted, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Eris laughed, a light sound that filled the room. "I've seen your workout routines.
They're more intense than most military training programs. What's going on in that head of yours?"
Leores sat down on his bed, his expression turning serious. "A lot of things, things that... I'm not going to bother you with. That's my burden to carry," he said, his eyes avoiding hers.
Eris walked over to him, sitting next to him on the bed. "You know you can talk to me, Leo. We're family, remember?" she said softly, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Leores felt the urge to confide in her, to share the truth about who he really was, what he had done growing up, and the nature of his childhood.
Despite never having harmed an innocent, the weight of his actions lingered heavily on his conscience.
He recalled the saying, "You can never truly know a person, only the person they want to show you," but with Eris, it felt different.
"You could never truly understand who I am because all the information you have is the half I've chosen to show you," Leores finally spoke, his voice laden with the weight of his secrets. "But I appreciate the offer."
Eris studied him intently, her eyes filled with concern and compassion.
"You know, Leo, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here. You don't have to go through this alone," she said, gently squeezing his shoulder.
"I don't have to, but I need to. The less you know, the safer you are," Leores replied, his gaze firm. He knew Eris was resilient, having endured her own hardships, but this was different. This was his world, his demons.
Undeterred, Eris climbed onto his lap, her eyes meeting his with unwavering determination.
"Leo, you can trust me," she said, her voice both gentle and steadfast. "I've seen some pretty messed up things too. You're not the only one who's had to fight an ugly world."
Leores kept his expression blank, but an ominous and somewhat dark aura began to emanate from him.
"You've seen a lot, yes. But you haven't seen the things that I have, Eris," he said, his voice carrying hints of the shadows he had faced.
Eris held his gaze, refusing to be intimidated. "I might not know everything you've been through, but I'm here for you, Leo. And that won't change," she promised, her presence a steady anchor amidst the turmoil of his thoughts.
"What could be so bad, Leo?" Eris's voice was soft, her expression filled with worry.
"Everything..." Leores whispered, his eyes meeting hers with a gravity she had never seen before.
"The world is a much darker place than you can imagine, Eris. And the things I've seen, the things I've done..." He trailed off, his grip on her shoulders tightening.
Eris looked deep into his eyes, she could feel the weight of his words, the burden he was carrying.
"Leo, you can tell me anything. I promise I won't judge you," she whispered, her hand gently stroking his cheek.
Leores could tell she was telling the truth, she opened up to him so many times that he knows all of her patterns when she lies and tells the truth, he knows she believed what he said wholeheartedly...
But deep down he knows, and he seen it before, you can mean something and once you find out about someone can change their mind immediately.
He didn't want that. He didn't want Eris to look at him differently.
"I know, I believe you you Eris... But this is something I need to handle alone," Leores said, his voice a mix of regret and resolve.
He didn't want to burden her with his past, especially not when she had come so far from college and back home for her birthday.
Eris, got frustrated and lays him down on his bed, she straddles him, pinning his arms down. "Leo, tell me what's going on," Eris said with a determined look on her face.
He just looked at her with his usual blank face, but his golden eyes showed a hint of something else, something she hadn't seen before.
Something that made her heart ache. "You're too kind Eris, I can't do that to you," Leores said, his voice filled with a strange mix of fondness and pain.
Eris rubbed his chest, feeling his chiseled body beneath her touch.
"Come on, Leo. I know you're hiding something from me," she said, her eyes searching his. "You can't keep everything bottled up. You'll explode."
She lifted up his shirt revealing his scar-covered torso, her eyes tracing the lines of each one.
"You know I never noticed these scars before." she murmured. "But your not going to tell me about them anyway huh?."
Leores sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "They're from another world," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper. "A world you never get to see or understand."
Eris leaned down, her forehead touching his. "But I want to," she murmured. "You're not alone, Leo."
She started kissing him passionately, her hands roaming over his body, trying to distract him from the darkness he was drowning in.
Leores, for a moment, lost in the warmth of her embrace, felt a brief respite from his troubles.
But the guilt gnawed at him, and he knew he couldn't keep dodging to her, not like this.
She started using her tongue while kissing him, deepening the kiss, her hands moving to his waist, tugging at his shorts.
Leores felt his body responding despite his mind's protests.
Eris broke up the kiss, making a chain of saliva connect them for a brief moment.
"Come on, Leo. Let's just forget about everything tonight," she murmured, her eyes smoldering with desire.
She straddled him, her body moving in a way that left no room for doubt about her intentions.
They then started have sex, their bodies moving in a rhythm that was as intense as their secret lives.
Leores felt a moment of peace, but his mind was still racing.
He couldn't shake the feeling that he was leading Eris into a world that would only bring her pain.
But for Eris, she was just in pure happiness. Being with Leores was like coming home after a long trip, it was comforting, it was familiar, it was safe.
She didn't care about the scars, the secrets or the darkness she knew was lurking.
All she cared about was the present moment, the feel of his hands on her body, the sound of his breath in her ear, the taste of his kiss.
"I love you... Leo...~" Eris whispered in between their passionate gasps, her eyes closed in pleasure.
She holds him tightly, while moaning his name, her breath hot and needy against his ear.
Leores felt a pang of guilt, knowing he couldn't tell her the truth, not yet.
But as she whispered those three words, something inside of him shattered.
For years he tried to control his strength, knowing that he'll be able to easily hurt her if he didn't hold back.
But today, with the adrenaline from the game and the stress of his secrets, he didn't hold back as much.
He could feel the bed shaking, the springs squeaking with each powerful thrust.
"Ahh!~ L-Leo... So... good~" Eris moaned out, her nails digging into his back. Leores body responding to her tightness as she wrapped her legs around him, pushing him deeper.
"Eris... I, can't hold on..." Leores warned through gritted teeth, his body taut with the effort of containing his climax.
"Don't hold back, Leo," Eris panted, her voice thick with passion. "Let go, I'm with you."
Leores could feel his orgasm building, his body straining against the restraint he had held onto for so long.
With a primal growl, he let himself go, his hips moving faster and harder, his body releasing a torrent of pent-up desire into hers.
Eris met him with equal fervor, her own orgasm washing over her as she tightened around him, her eyes squeezed shut in ecstasy.
They were both panting, their bodies slick with sweat, as they lay tangled in the sheets, the aftershocks of their passion still echoing through the room.
Eris leaned her head against Leores' chest, listening to the steady thump of his heart, feeling the warmth of his skin against hers.
For a moment, it was like nothing else in the world mattered.
"You're... Amazing like always Leo..." Eris murmured, her chest rising and falling rapidly against his.
Leores felt a mix of emotions, the pleasure from their intimate moment and the burden of his secrets weighing heavy on him.
He held her close, his heart aching knowing that he might have to push her away to protect her.
