Bello Agalia.

Bello Agalia.

Seeing as Alune started showing signs of recovery, Bello could not help but to be calm. He saw that Alune's body was now energetic, no longer as pale as before.

However, the statement that the queen had said still echoed inside of his mind. He questioned the external attack done to his brother. As far as he knew, they had not made any enemies, so Bello could not piece together the identity of the unknown assailant.

Another, was the scale of the mental attack - if an individual were capable of such an attack, then Bello would have to be worried because it could happen again.

It happened to a Dreamer too, an individual with high mental capacity and strength! So, this attacker was no pushover at all..

The Queen held Alune's forehead assessing the mental scale of the attack. She was an elegant Pathbearer that bears the Attunement: Priestess of Winds. Thus, combined with her Pure Soul, she was considered to be the greatest apothecary/healer in Elrod.

The Queen and the King had been quite a remarkable duo, although they lacked strength in terms of attack power. However, their support Paths and Attunement could make even a non-Pathbearer to hold great strength.

Truly fitting for an individual that serves their Kingdom well.

It was only a couple of moments before the Queen had fully assessed the scale of the attack, she disclosed information in a serious tone while ordering her husband and son to help her bring Alune to the medical ward.

"Like what I said, this attack was directly aimed at Alune, it is a mental attack of great skill. Whoever the unknown attacker is, they purposefully used Alune's panic attacks to fluctuate his Soul and make him lose control. Luckily, Veritas and Bello was there to help him."

"Without you both, things could have ended much worse.." added the King

The 3 of them made their way to the medical ward while Veritas cleared things up for the knights that guarded the castle.

Their footsteps echoed across the grandiose halls of the castle. The moonlight shone brightly, entering the windows and showing a spectacle to the eyes of Bello.

Breaking the silence was Julius, who slowed down his pace and walked with Bello.

"You.. are Bello, correct?"

The dignified white haired King asked Bello with such elegance that hearing upon his voice could move the hearts of many.

"Yes.. your majesty."

"I see."

With a momentary pause of their words, the footsteps that echoed across the hall seemed ever so louder than before.

"Veritas had told me many things about you."

Bello went silent for a moment and replied respectfully.

"That's.. good to know, your majesty."

"I can see why that boy would trust someone like you."

The Veritas in Bello's image was a ruthless, and cunning bastard that schemes to get his way, he was the opposite of what a Prince could be. Although Bello had seen Veritas' princely side, the one that he was most familiar with was the trashy Veritas.

However, the King's words made him rethink of his image of the Prince.

Recalling their first encounter was unpleasant to say the least. Bello did not know of the identity of Veritas back then, as he had been a black-haired and red eyed fellow. Not the pure white and golden eyed elegant prince that the public was accustomed to.

Bello thought that he was a normal teenager like him, but he was very very wrong.

Due to his "exquisite" taste in fashion, he was the first one that the Prince had taken notice of.

'That boy is crazy!' He had thought of the time, the Prince dragged him around the streets and searched for places where he could gamble. They were complete strangers at this time!

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

After an entire afternoon of gambling, Bello and Veritas... came out broke.

Their pockets were empty and their belongings was gone, they had bet everything and it was Veritas' fault.

However, Bello was relieved, thinking that this was the last time that he was going to see Veritas.

The next day came and Bello saw the black-haired boy once again. This sparked the torment that he had to endure for a couple of months.

Bello seemed to notice that the boy never ran out of money, he would lose all his money in the afternoon and come back the day after with a new replenished stock!

So, early on, Bello had suspected that he came from a rich background. But he didn't expect him to be the Prince! That day when he found out that the boy dragging him across was the Prince, he had fainted from shock!

It was a memorable day for Bello.

After completing the first step of gazing upon the Soul, his brother Alune taught him the second step which is to reach and feel.

Bello took 2 hours to reach his Soul and to resonate with it, he was quite proud of this as it had been an amazing feat for a commoner like him!

So, with the instructions of his brother, Bello gazed upon his Soul and looked at his runes.

[Bello Agalia]

[Path: Beast King]

[Path Rank: Noble]

[Soul Rank: Impure]

[Attunement: Beasttamer of Wills]

Upon reading the ancient text, Bello jumped up in joy! He had been granted a Noble Path!

For commoners such as him to obtain a Path higher than Mundane, it was a great cause for celebration!

However, what made him the happiest was due to his Path being the same rank as his brother! They were siblings of a Noble Path!

"You seem happy Bello, what'd you get?"

"Uh.. It says here that my Path is Beast King and its rank is Noble, same as yours! Then my Attunement is Beasttamer of Wills, and my Soul Rank is Impure.. is that good?"

"Oooh, Beasttamer huh.. I guess it fits you."

"Yeah.."

Bello was overjoyed by this, and he strived to get even stronger and understand his Soul better. It was.. the legacy of their parents after all.

Their parents were once great adventurers that traversed continents and seas. They knew of great lands, conquered the unknown, and lived a life of thrilling danger. They were quite famous for many adventurers, and they have inspired those to go on adventuring on their own.

Upon arriving at the Kingdom of Freedom, the two saw the beauty of living in peace and freedom. For once in their life they saw the spectacle of what life could be. Instead of blood and battles, they saw the peaceful breeze and the elegance of the morning sun.

They realized that the life of danger was not built for the both of them. So, they decided to settle down and live life quietly and peacefully.

After a few years of settling down, the two were gifted with two beautiful kids, they named the firstborn as Alune and the second born as Bello.

This was the life that the two brothers once had...

Until, their parents suddenly vanished.

It was a morning like no other. A peaceful breeze could be felt, the morning sun shined brightly, and the normal lives of people began once more.

Not for the Agalia brothers, they had woken up to a letter on their dinner table. A well-composed and written letter.

Bello was still a little kid back then, so Alune was the only one that read the letter. Then, Alune uttered a simple phrase of understanding.

"I see."

From then on, Alune never brought up the topic of the letter ever again and he hid it to where Bello could never find it.

Bello asked where their parents were and Alune only answered that they have gone adventuring again, spreading their greatness upon the lands once more.

This started a spark within Bello, who strived to become a great adventurer like his parents once was.

At least.. for the young Bello.

Now that he had grown up, he understood what the contents of the letter was. With that realization the dreams that he had, died along with it.

From then on, Bello wore extravagant clothing. Was it a way for him to cope? Was it a way to get attention? Whatever the reason was, it did not matter, because Bello was happier than ever.

The moment he first went out wearing unfamiliar clothing, he was stared upon and judged. But it did not matter to him, he was doing what he wanted and he was happy in doing it.

These days of happiness were treasured a lot by Bello.

However, it was only until he had met the crazy Prince.

Bello remembered the words that the black-haired boy uttered back then.

"You're pretty interesting! I'm pretty new here so come with me!"

Bello thought that it was just a harmless request from a humble individual. He thought that after answering some questions and guiding along the streets would make the boy leave.

But he was very wrong!

Thus, started the interaction between the two.

A few hours after he had reached for his Soul, Veritas came knocking loudly at their front door.

Annoyed by this, Bello opened the door to see a crowd of people flocking behind a white-haired individual.

This individual had a wide grin on his face, showing familiarity towards Bello.

Alune came out of his room due to the commotion and noise. After he had done so his jaw went ajar and his eyes were shocked. The coffee he held in his hand almost spilled due to the situation.

Bello did not know of the identity of the white-haired individual, he thought that it was some kind of religious solicitor due to the amount of people behind the white-haired individual. He also judged him and thought of him to be some kind of pure member of the Church.

"Ha? Who are you? Please leave."

Alune was greatly shocked by this and he let out a short scream, he immediately rushed towards his brother in hopes to cover his mouth and let him say nastier words.

"Shut up you!"

Bello turned around and questioned the sudden development.

"Huh? Wh-"

His mouth was then covered by the fair white hands of his brother. Alune then smiled peacefully at the white-haired individual and talked with great respect.

"Haha- I apologize for my brother, what might you be doing at this time of day? O, Great Prince?"

Bello's eyes opened wide and he stared back and forth between his brother and the white-haired individual.

'Great.. Prince?!?!"

The shocking revelation caused Bello to faint in the spot.
