Chapter 26: Three Princes

Chapter 26:

Three Princes

--- --- ---

After teleporting away from the Headmaster’s office, Vinci appeared at a location behind the school building. Nonchalantly, he began to head towards the Class 6 Training Ground.

He had been listening to Headmaster Ember speak over an hour or two, so by now it was around the time when Training Period was held. And as to continuing fitting in, Vinci decided to attend his classes as usual.

Vinci lifted up his right wrist as he observed the golden, colored bracelet that was latched on there. During his conversation with the headmaster, Headmaster Ember had passed on this special bracelet to him. Vinci remembered she said it was a symbol of showing that the Headmaster’s position has been truly inherited by him. He was told to wear it at all times.

Putting down his wrist, Vinci did not say a word as he continued on his way.

Walking into the Coliseum, Vinci immediately sat down on a nearby bench as he lazily stared at the students engaging in combat training.

Across the field, Cecilia was practicing against another student when she noticed Vinci out of a corner of her eyes. Thinking about her father’s proposal to her yesterday, a shade of pink appeared on her face as she shook her head to focus.

Pausing for a moment, Cecilia looked towards Vinci when she suddenly furrowed her eyebrows. She felt that there was something was off Vinci today.

Although she did not speak with Vinci after the incident last time, Cecilia was somewhat aware of Vinci’s personality, or at least the general air he gives off. When she usually sees him from afar, Cecilia would notice that Vinci gives off a naive, and slightly cold, aura.

But now, all she could feel from her glance at the boy was a body full of coldness. And there was even an indescribable sense of confidence brimming from him, albeit his “bored” look.

“Am I worried about him?...No, I’m just thinking too much..” Cecilia thought as her mind wandered back to thinking about her father’s arrangements.

But Cecilia could not ponder for long as she was forced to continue engaging in practice with her partner.

Vinci had already noticed Cecilia’s brief span of attention on him. But he did not pay her much attention. Although he was entranced by her beauty when he had first met her, that was only during the time when Vinci had yet recover his memory. His heart was easily shakable, his skills are slightly rough, and even his speeches were affected.

Now that he was himself again, Vinci only appreciated Cecilia’s looks, but as for any childish thoughts he had before he had long discarded them. He was even beginning to regret promising that Clan Master Earl a favor, just because Vinci had felt “bad” before about the old man using his daughter as bait to lure him into the Rising Sun Clan.

Especially now that Vinci would have to take control of that Clan.

“I guess I’ll be more gentle with the Rising Sun Clan...maybe even see if they’re willing to submit to me without me using any force.” Vinci thought.

While Vinci was staring blankly into space, thinking about what to do for the Events, there was a distant, loud explosion sound coming from behind him. It seemed to have come from the other side of the school building, most likely the near the School entrance.

Without even turning his head around, Vinci directly used «Scanner» to survey the entire school area. Through the scanner, Vinci was able to see inside his head that near the main gate, there were three students lying on the ground, while two of them were staggering to stand up. These people must be Arena Academy’s Class 8 students, the same ones he had fought before.

At the moment, it looked like the Class 8 students had suffered a loss fighting against someone. A few feets away from the injured few injured students, stood another group of young people all dressed in jet black clothes.

About eight feets away from the black clothed youths stood three old men, similarly dressed. Each person had a golden phoenix shaped  emblem on their chest, including the youths.

“Oh? Someone dares to cause trouble at the Arena Academy?” Vinci mused to himself as he looked at the scene inside his head.

The black clothed teenagers were speaking something to the fallen students, but Vinci could not hear what they were saying through the scanner.

With, but a thought, Vinci instantly disappeared from his original spot as he reappeared on top of the school roof, facing the direction of the school’s gate. Now that he was close, with his strong senses, Vinci was now able to hear what the people below were talking about.

“...hmph, you think mere students like you can block the way of our great Golden Phoenix Clan? If I want to go in, then I will go in. What the hell do you think you are even doing, trying to stop me?” A youth, with black eyes and short golden hair, standing in the front spat. He looked around 17 years old, seeming to be the leader of the three members behind him.

Hearing the Golden Phoenix Clan’s name mentioned, the Class 8 students there were frightened. This was a existence they did not dare offend, if they wished to lead a successful life after graduating. Some of them were even cursing themselves internally for having initially blocked these people’s path.

Just as the black clothed youth was about to continue taunting the Class 8 students, a sarcastic voice rang nearby.

“Oho? Prince Virsha Fenix is quite the benevolent figure! Beating some trashes up and then thoroughly mocking them. You are most definitely the best role model for us all...as someone who we should NOT be! Ahahaha!”

Virsha’s face darkened upon hearing those words. As a next leader of the Golden Phoenix Clan, when was he openly ridiculed like this? But before he could counter the owner of the voice, another voice traversed through the air.

“Is it wrong to take care of a few trashes? To dare block the way of a royalty, they should count themselves blessed they are even alive! If it was me, those five would have already died at my hands, be they students of Arena Academy or not!”

The two Class 8 students who did not pass out, upon heard these words, instantly turned pale. They did not even dare make a sound at this point.

Virsha turned around and saw two figures, each being followed by a relatively large group and three elders, approaching the school gate. His eyes narrowed when he saw who they were.

“Prince Mero Voidbone and Prince Dullan Firse!” Virsha hissed in his mind. The former, wearing an expensive set of blue clothes, short hair and blue eyes, was a direct descendant of the Rossia Clan, while the latter, who had brown eyes and light red hair, came from the Crimson Dragon Clan.

The two princes looked to be the same age as Virsha. And both of their names, like Virsha, carried heavy weights in the United World. After all, they were the next in line to be the Clan Master of their respective clans!

And naturally, all three were not on good terms with one another, as each vied to consolidate complete power for their own Clan.

“What are you guys doing here?” Virsha growled as he glared at the two princes.

“Haha, what a joke, why can you be here while we can’t?” Mero smirked as he looked at Virsha. He was also the owner of the first voice Virsha heard.

“My Clan and I are naturally here for serious business. As long as you don’t get in our way, we will naturally not care about what you do here either.” Dullan said with a serious look on his face. There was a trace of arrogance in his tone.

While the three princes exchanged verbal attacks, the three elders behind each of the prince all gave one another a nod in acknowledgement. They knew that while their Clans were at loggerheads with each other, this time, the nine of them had come together in order to complete a very important mission.

And that, is the elimination of the “injured” Headmaster!

Author's Note: The thought that the Headmaster is "injured" is all on the the three Major Clans' part. Readers already know better. So don't worry, it's not a mistake. Although minor, it'll be clear later on.  :)
