Chapter 25:
New Headmaster
___ ___ ___
After discovering the vast unexplored regions besides the United World, Vinci had a slight amused smile on his face. While he could see the different lands on the Earthian Sphere, he did not know their names. The « Glass World» had only granted him the brief ability of search and an extensive wide view of the world; nothing more, nothing less.
Vinci saw that the Grand Land Region was separated by a large volume of water from the United World region. Even though it was called “region,” with its scale and size, it was most likely a different Continent. And judging from the size of the land that Vinci had saw from the “glass view”, that continent was at least two times larger than the United World, even with seven small continents combined!
“Interesting...this sphere is really quite large. But I’m in no need to rush anyways. After I take over the seven Clans, I’ll think about the Grand Land Region then…” Vinci thought as he ascended the stairway to his room.
It was late at night now, and after a surprisingly long day, Vinci was ready replenish his energy through some sleeping. Even though he was powerful and could go without sleep, there was no reason at the moment for Vinci to do so. With his memories fully back, Vinci had likewise regained the “missing pieces” of his personality. He was more than confident that in his own ability. Thus, he chose to simply relax -- a luxury most rankers can’t even afford in their lifetime.
Like this, the next day smoothly arrived.
----------
A fresh morning breeze gently blew across Arena Academy’s front yard. Many students have been gathered at this moment in the field, chatting with their friends. Excited whispers buzzed like bees throughout the yard.
“Hey, did you hear? Someone challenged Headmaster Ember yesterday!”
“I heard there was also someone who dared to challenge the entire Class 8 upperclassmen!!”
“Wait, I thought then who was the person who fought the teachers? I heard it took several teachers to subdue that kid, but in the end they failed..”
“No, no, I heard it was a group that fought against those Class 8 guys.”
“Guys...I’m sorry to hide it from you all...but, it was I, Genji Smith, who fought Headmaster Ember yesterday. I won in the end, but--”
“Bullshit! If you were able to win with your puny Master Rank strength, then why the f*ck would I still have to train anymore? I’m a frickin’ Grandmaster ranker already!”
Various voices and dissents rang out among the dense crowd as everyone engaged in intense debates. No one knew who was the person(s) who were challenged the Headmaster, Class 8, or even the teachers. But none of them could think of a student, or group, in the school that was strong enough to contend against those top powers...
At this moment, Vinci had arrived at school through the usual Portal route. As he stepped through the gates, some of the students who saw him quickly made way for him. Although they did not know that Vinci was the one who challenged all those “major powers” yesterday, just by the strong reputation Vinci has in the school now after his constant battles were enough to make people fear and respect him.
Entering the school, instead of going to his classroom, Vinci headed straight to the Headmaster’s office. As he was walking through the hallways, Vinci saw Athan approaching.
“Sup, Vinci!” Athan said as he flashed a smile.
“Hello.” Vinci replied as he gave a slight nod.
Although Vinci had recovered his previous batch of memories, the experiences he had up until now was still a part of him. And with his first companion having been Athan, Vinci naturally had a good impression of this carefree fellow. Even if he was cold, it was only towards enemies, and even more so only on the battlefields.
“Where you heading? Aren’t you going to go to class?” Athan asked with a confused look.
“I’m heading towards the Headmaster’s office. I have some business with her.” Vinci calmly replied.
“Business? As in…?” Athan gently probed.
Without hesitation, Vinci answered: “To receive my position as the new Headmaster.”
Athan’s eyes widened for a brief moment before he burst out into laughters.
“Hahaha! Good one, man! I didn’t know you knew how to joke as well. But since you don’t want to tell me, it’s fine. I have to get to class now, anyways, so I’ll see you around!” Athan smiled as he patted Vinci on the shoulder before swaggering away.
Vinci gave him a side glance as the latter walked away, but did not pursue the matter. He had already told him his destination and reason, what others wanted to believe was up to them.

After a short while, Vinci finally arrived at Headmaster’s office. Without any knocking, Vinci directly pushed opened the brown doors as he entered.
When he opened the door, Vinci quickly saw that Headmaster Ember was standing on the side of the table while the her secretary, Sina, was respectfully position right besides her. The headmaster’s seat was open.
Vinci stepped into the room as he walked over to the desk and immediately sat down.
The two of adults did not say a word. After a while, just as Headmaster Ember was about to speak, Vinci lightly held up a hand for her to stop.
“No need to tell me the tasks of a headmaster. I am not interested in that.”
Vinci said calmly.
The headmaster paused in her words. A slightly astonished and confused look settled in between her brows.
“Then..why did you challenge me? To test yourself?” Headmaster Ember asked.
Vinci slightly turned his head as his gaze fell on the Headmaster. Immediately, the old woman felt as if she was put in a freezing hell! Even Sina, who was usually emotionless and business-like, was visibly shivering as her eyes shut tightly.
Every pore of the Headmaster’s body were trembling, yet amidst the fear, she felt that she had tasted this sensation before…
Yes...yes, it was same feeling as that time!...that time when Vinci had “transformed.”
Horrified, Headmaster Ember unconsciously took a step back as she looked up at Vinci. But there was no indication of any change in his aura, much less his appearance this time. Yet, the same feeling of terror did not ease in her heart. In fact, it even intensified a bit.
The Headmaster suddenly realized that something was off about the boy today. She could not pinpoint exactly what it was, but she felt that the boy seemed...colder than he was before. And there was now a subtle dark air around him that was not present before. It seemed he was a slightly different person after yesterday, yet he was also the same boy as before.
“You do not need to know my reason.” Vinci’s cold voice rang out, interrupting the Headmaster’s thoughts. “I came here today because I have a task for you.”
Turning his head away, Vinci continued: “I want you to tell me everything you know on the Seven Clans in United World. Of course, I hope you will provide information that is not publicly known already. Just know this, everything that can be found on the Internet, I will already have knowledge of, so do not waste my time.”
After gathering herself, Headmaster Ember solemnly nodded her head in agreement. It was the only thing she could do at this point. She did not understand the being who was sitting comfortably before her. She didn’t even know if the boy was actually even a “boy”, or perhaps was some ancient demon who had disguised herself. All the Headmaster knew was that she at the complete mercy of Vinci. Going against him was simply not going to work at all.
This was the first time the Headmaster had felt so powerless. But there truly was nothing she could do. When a disparity of power between two persons was large enough, any tricks would become useless before true might.
The Headmaster sent Sina away as she prepared to carefully narrate secret knowledges that were only exclusive to those higher up, to Vinci. When she was done, she heard Vinci promptly give her a “thank you” before she saw the boy vanish before her eyes.
“Teleportation magic…my god…” Headmaster Ember softly murmured to herself in shock. She was not aware of Vinci’s full ability even after a direct confrontation. She had been killed too fast for her to carefully analyze Vinci’s strength. And the reason why she was shocked at Vinci’s teleportation magic because of the lack of people who actually use it. Even the Headmaster herself could only barely use this magic, and would reserve it at the end for emergency uses. Yet, a boy who was only 15 years old had effortless used such high level magic as easy as he was going for a stroll.
Helplessly, the Headmaster slowly shook her head as she sighed to herself. A barely discernable smile slowly appeared on her face.
“If he could use a Grand-tier magic so easily, then perhaps we can now have the qualification to compete against those “monsters” from the other Continents…” Headmaster Ember thought as she looked out the window. A bright glimmer had surfaced within her complicated eyes.
