Death, it was all around me. The screams and calls of the bugs echoed in the night air; my full faced helmet allowing the sounds through.
My entire squad, Delta One, decimated. My men cut to pieces by the bug nemesis without so much as a whimper.
I couldn't fathom it, we were the elite; the most well trained and deadly squadron within Humanities forces. Yet we were caught unaware of the presence beneath this reportedly clear, and dead planet.
I couldn't feel anything, one of the Arachnids had a frontal leg used for piercing it's foes shoved firmly through my shoulder, and I knew death was coming. If not for what they had planned, then from the multiple system failures showing on my helmets hud. Oxygen was already blinking read.
Why did I not die with all my men? A simple answer; I was staring the ugly white grub in it's eyes. I laughed, insanity taking hold, only to cough up blood the entire time.
I saw the center of the Brains face extend outward, white mucus membrane falling off of the sharp bone like extension it raised upward, it's body rising slightly to reveal hundred of roaches beneath the fat ugly thing.
I smiled at my death, the camera installed in my helmet recording every moment, and screamed; just as the spike drove through my helmet and into my skull; eating all of my memories. "HUMANITY WILL----" then only pain hit me as it sucked my brain up like so much liquid.
Death, the almighty equalizer had claimed me after countless years fighting for the Fleet, and the civilians to scared to join up for citizenship and fight the bug menace that threatened our people. For what? Nothing; what lay on this planet behind the Brain had been something so traumatizing I had been unable to see it even once...I could only prey as I was sent somewhere dark, and hot that my son would not join my fate.
"Oh my God...Captain, did you?" - First Mate
"Shut it Corporal! You, Cadet, get that video sent to command to review and analyze. No one, I repeat NO ONE speaks of this until further notice." - Captain
"Yes Sir!" - Crew
Sky Marshal Command
-------------------------------------
"Dear God in Heaven, What is that?"-Sky Marshal Second
"Silence, destroy this feed, no one sees this; no one learns of it. Everyone is here by under Sky Command order 361-C. This never happened. Send the remote signal to detonate the Orion."- Sky Marshal
"Sir, but...there are over five hundred.." - Technical Advisor
*Smack* "Fucking do it, or join them!" - Sky Marshal
The codes was sent, and the last thing any on that ship new was the cold vacuum of space before dying.
"Delta One and the Orion all died heroes, ladies and gentlemen. This footage, this secret, remains with us to our grave. No one will learn; to the rest of humanity it was a technical failure and we lost communications. Anyone who knew of this mission in command, ensure is either bought, or silenced. Dismissed!" - Sky Marshal

"Sir, yes Sir!" - everyone
Rubbing his hand against his eyes after everyone had left, he looked once more at the screen and the last possible copy of what was seen; the brain aside along with the massive hordes of Arachnids on Dues, the supposed dead planet. That Planet had a Hybrid creature; something wrong by nature, and dangerous. It had a vague female shape, and resembled some sort of monstrous Bee.
Almost like a queen...No one would learn of this secret. No one, he swore this vehemently.
The mission had been sent to the vary edge of known space in the hopes of discovering the Bugs main world. Aside from that shocking truth, the video showed that there were thousands, millions more planets out beyond the known sectors.
Finding, and ending the ever killing Bug menace would now likely never happen. It would kill the peoples hope. None would learn until it was time; it had to remain a secret.
Commander Franklin Drak knew the risks. Both a personal friend, and valued hero to Humanity. He would remain just that in the peoples mind; each hoping that he lived in the outermost reaches of space, and was fighting the Bug Menace there while working his way home.
After All, humans were en mass stupid creatures willing to cling to a lie that made them feel better. It was the person that was truly dangerous. Having said that those who were bought could be spared; was a lie. They would be killed through more tragic means. If they could be bought, then they could not keep that secret.
It was a shame, but those that would not be bought, holding the most back bone and likely some of my best officers, would all perish as well.
This video, this knowledge, would never leak.

Hello beautiful people, I decided I wanted to do this little fan fic. No idea when, or how often, it will be updated as I will be focused on my RL issues, as stated in Olympus, and will be stated in the Prologue for Volume Two of Blood Born when released later this evening; but I had this idea floating inside my mind way too long.
I hope you like it, and the concept itself. It's set a certain time after a bunch of shit from the movies/animated series whatever. I have yet to decide. It's a fanfic that I am utterly changing as I want too because I don't want it to be the exact same.
If that upsets people, I am sorry. But here you go, enjoy. expect Chapter 9 of Olympus later today, followed by the Prologue for Blood Born Volume 2.
