Volume 1 Ch.4 Zanil

Volume 1 Ch.4 Zanil

I was walking due to being tired of running for the past few days.

I then asked Fricks if he would be so kind as to pull the boat while I lay in it and got a bit of rest.

In truth I wasn't asking more like telling him.

He didn't mind since he, without hesitation, took the rope out of my hands and started pulling the boat, that actually looked more like a big sled.

Before going to sleep I told him if he came across any paths to stick to it until it reached a village and not enter the village until I woke up.

I doze off.

"zzzzz....zzzz....z..z..z.zz...zzz.zzz....."

"What is this? Is that being alive?"

"Grrrrrrr...."

"Why is it growling like that?"

"hhhhhhrrrrrrrruuuuuu" I snore

"It seems like he’s alive. Just sound asleep."

"Mister, wake up please."

"GrrrRRR...GRRRR...."

"I bet it doesn't want us to wake its Master up."

---- 13 hours later----

"Is he sleeping still?"

"That beautiful creature hasn't even moved an inch out of the way ever since it came."

"Yaaaaawwnnn"

As I woke up, I was still in my sleeping bag. Aside from hearing the voices near me, I didn't hurry to open up the sleeping bag. I guess I just wanted to sleep more but due to the increasing conversations near me, made me irritated a bit.

Well, might as well as check my stats.

Even though I said that I wanted to check my stats, in my mind the window opened up automatically.

You must choose your race, appearance, and name. Before being able to proceeding to view any other information.

"I want to be the race I am in real life as well as appearance, and my name likewise."

I thought this was a good opportunity since I didn't know anything about my origin, I could find something out about myself in the process.

"Whoever is in that bag seems to be talking to himself."

"Wonder who it is."

Agh almost forgot there are people chatting around me. I guess might as well as get up and find some food.

Oh, right, better put clothes on before I get out. There could be kids out there.

As I opened the sleeping bag, the morning sunlight was blinding me. I even forgot that I was irritated since I was happy to learn my name and race.

"Woaahhhh." Every stranger around me said that at the same time when I came out of the sleeping bag.

"Hey Fricks you actually dragged me right to the front gates of a village?"

"Didn't I tell you to stop before even getting it close to the village?"

"Perhaps I dozed off before I finished giving you instructions."

"You even scared of the guards."

"Wonder why they ran away and are now crowding us."

"Fricks get on the boat. It’s your time to sleep. I’ll wake you up when I find us some grub."

........

"Excuse me young man. Is that your companion?" asked an elderly man.

"Yes, it is. Oh, where are my manners. It’s been so long since I even talked to anyone other than my companion. My name is Salim."

"Nice to meet you, young man, and my name is Trint. I am the Elder of this town."

-----Conversation-------

Trint:     I can see that your companion is quite the peaceful one isn't he?

Salim:    No... Not really... I just asked him not to cause me trouble while I slept.

Trint:     I see.

Trint:     Say... May I ask why you are here?

Salim:    I am on a path of self-discovery.

Salim:    Since you know everything around this are, mind telling me where my companion Fricks and I could eat?

Salim:    Although I don't have your kind of currency. I do have different things I could trade in order to obtain your currency.

Trint:     Well there is an inn with amazing restaurant menu in this village.

Trint:     As well as a corner market where you can trade in your goods for currency.

Trint:     I would like to escort you if you don't mind. Do you need help pooling that sled or perhaps I should bring a cart.

Salim:    There is no need for any of that. Just point the way.

Trint:     Then follow me.

Salim:    OK

------Conversation end------

Instead of dragging the sled which would make too much noise as well as already braking apart with barely any bottom left, I lifted it up off the ground and carried it as I was following the elderly man.

Trint: "So young man should we get a cart?" he asked without turning around.

He was assuming I couldn't even budge the sled since no sound was made while I picked it up and as I walked.

As soon as he turned around he was startled that even his jaw dropped when he saw me carrying the sled over my head with one arm. I was right behind him.

"So where is the market?" I asked Trint.

"It’s this way." he said as he started to move a bit faster.

His astonished face regained its sense faster than everyone else around. They were still standing with their slacked jaws and surprised faces.

After I sold all my minerals and ores to the market I asked the market owner how I could learn to identify those things. He said because I sold such a quantity he gave me a book that had a lot of information on different things such as ores and minerals as well as gems.

Even though I had many more jewels and colorful rocks still with me, the market owner said he doesn't have enough money in order to buy such expensive items. He said I would need to go to a bigger city to exchange those.

After selling as much as the market owner could afford to buy I had a total of 21 gold, 33 silver, and 95 copper coins. At that time I bought a pair of semi-good looking clothes with no stats. I bought a much larger bag, sturdier rope since the rope holding together the boat was now tattered and about to rip. I was no longer under noob protection. So the beginning items I had, had begun to deteriorate. When purchasing in the market I paid with ores and minerals instead of money, since it was equivalent.

The bag I bought was able to fit all of the remaining jewels a new rope, a new axe, and an extra pair of clothes. It was a good accomplishment, I was really satisfied. Since the boat was now a piece of junk the market owner said he can dispose it for me so I agreed and left. The Elder(Trint) had left earlier because on the way here he showed me where the Inn was located.

Even though Fricks was sleeping at first, he got up as we passed the Inn which smelled great with all of the food. We headed towards the Inn even though there was a sign no pets allowed we still entered. I asked the lady for a table where Fricks and I could eat privately. She showed me the way toward the private room where I sat down and ordered one of everything on the menu with double portions for everything. And quadruple the portions for Fricks.

Since the order was so large they asked for me to pay in advance with a total being of 90 Silver for the extra, extra large meals we ordered. I went ahead and paid for a room to stay there that night. The night stay was only 10 silvers for the both of us.

We ate like Kings and Emperors that night. Most of the staff where cooking only for us, as we ate more and more, and in the end the total came out to be one gold coin.

I went to sleep and was very satisfied that night.
