What I saw was a light blue translucent circle the size of my fingernail, floating only a couple of centimeters above the palm of my hand.
"Is this... barrier magic?" I questioned.
"No, it's a barrier World Gift making it far less superior to barrier magic. Do you see how small it is? Even if you were to use the lowest level of barrier magic it would still be 100x stronger than that." Mr. Auger corrected me.
"Even if that is the case, I'm just glad I can use something similar to magic." I said with a large smile.
I think my smiling so happily threw everyone for a loop, since they all looked like they'd seen a ghost.
'Haha, I don't care, I truly am happy that the one thing I thought would burden me in this world has been taken care of.'
"Knock that off brat, you're going to make me start feeling bad! If you love magic so much, how about I give you a demonstration of what that barrier skill of yours could become?" Mr. Auger said while scratching his neck.
"Yes, please!" Ulta and I responded in unison.
'Hmm, I guess Ultas just as interested in magic as I am.'
As everyone stood up and exited the carriage Chief Tyu stayed behind to talk to me.
"Magic! Magic! Magic! Magic!" screamed Ulta as she left the carriage.
"Hakkar, listen to me before you leave." Chief Tyu said as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
"That Antler I gave up has run through my family for generations, and is beyond important to me, but something far outweighs that importance." He said while looking at Ulta.
As I was going to look at Ulta he placed both hands on my shoulders and looked at me sternly.
"Remember well Hakkar, the tribe across the river has been steadily gearing up for an attack, and I believe it will happen within the next few years. They've always coveted our land due to the forest next to us, but I never expected them to take it this far. Even if I forfeited the antler for something that might not even pan out... I believe you'll be able to succeed. My daughter looks up to you Hakkar, she's always talking about how you feel more like an adult than a kid. To be honest, everyone feels this, and that's why I'm entrusting the future of the tribe to you. That's why you mustn't fail in your training, if you feel tired push past your limits and remember what could be at stake if we were to lose. I have faith you won't disappoint me, Hakkar." He said while progressively talking softer.

'Woah, what? That's a huge bombshell to drop on a 3-year-old you know! I'm not even sure what to say to that. A war with another tribe, entrusting me with the future, and giving up a family heirloom on a whim? Does this guy understand that he's selfishly pushing everything onto me?!? NOT TO MENTION IM ONLY 3!!'
After Chief Tyu finished talking he exited the carriage and I wasn't too far behind him. When we made it to where Mr. Auger and Ulta were, everyone in the village was gathered around talking about what was going to happen.
'It seems Ulta wasted no time in telling the whole village about seeing magic, haha.'
When I saw Ulta in the crowd I ran over to her and waited for Mr. Auger to start. Next to us were her family and mine, it seems they also heard the rumor.
"Hey Hakkar, is this guy really gonna show us magic?" Ultas brother Kerr said.
"Yeah, I got this cool barrier Gift and now he's going to show me how strong it could become. Oh, remind me to show you my barrier thing later Kerr." I responded.
"VICTOR, HIT ME WITH ALL YOUR FORCE." Mr. Auger yelled at Victor from a distance.
After he said that Victor started running at him at a speed that was barely visible to the naked eye. When he reached within a couple feet of Mr. Auger he threw a punch that looked like it was shot out of a canon. All Mr. Auger did was stretch his hand out and a purple circle the size of a boulder appeared in front of him.
When Victor's punch landed on the barrier, the ground around them exploded, and a gust of wind made the trees bend behind Mr. Auger. The dirt created a partial smoke screen making it hard to see what was happening.
When the smoke cleared, Mr. Auger was standing in the same spot as before, almost like the attack never fazed him. Victor on the other hand had his fist pressed against the barrier Mr. Auger had created, and if you looked closely you could see blood dripping off his hand. Unfortunately for the ground around Mr. Auger... it looked like an earthquake had happened right next to them. The ground was torn apart within a 50 feet radius of them… except for the spot Mr. Auger was standing on, not even the grass swayed.
'What the?! It all happened in mere seconds, how am I supposed to see what happened?'
*Clapping*
"Awesome!! Did you see how strong that attack was just now, Hakkar? No, better yet did you see how that guy is just standing there unfazed?" Kerr screamed out.
"Yeah, I'm not sure what to even say. I wonder what a real fight between those 2 would look like."
As everyone was clapping and in awe of their display, Victor looked at his fist.
"Hey boss, I think I hurt my hand." Victor said.
"That was an obvious conclusion you dunce, I wanted to show you that even though you're powerful it doesn't mean you're invincible. It was to also show that boy what he could be capable of in the future, even without any magic." Mr. Auger said.
"Boss is so smart." Victor said
I still couldn't wrap my head around it. Could I be this strong if I practice? Although, if I took 5% of that attack, I'd be on the ground coughing up blood. I trust Mr. Auger though, if he says that I could be capable of that, then I will practice till my body breaks. I don't have a true goal for why I want to acquire strength yet, so let's just set an intermediate goal.
'I will protect this tribe's people to the best of my ability, and won't let any of them die.'
