Johan quickly returned back to Clara's workshop. He knocked on the door, and then Clara opened it a moment later.

"Oh, welcome back. Find out what you needed to?" She asked.

"Yeah. I want to use a raven as my Construct." Johan explained.

"Alright. So, have you even done manipulation training for elemental mana or even just normal mana?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Well... You have to do that, but in your body. It's going to hurt a lot, even more so when you do your link. It's not really dangerous, but it is painful."

"Everything with magic seems that way." Johan sighed. He was certain of his Construct now, and he had a pretty good idea as to what a raven looked like, so he wasn't concerned about that part. "How detailed should I make it?" Johan asked a bit concerned.

"Well, you can make it as detailed as you want. I'd say make it in a way that matches how you tend to control your mana. If you tend to be heavy handed with it, make it less detailed, if you are a precise person, try making it more detailed, yeah?" Clara explained.

"So, I should probably try to be pretty detailed then..." Johan said to himself. "Alright, I'll start now."

"Whoa, so suddenly?"

"May as well, I'd rather not experience overflow ever again."

"Ah... That's fair enough. Alright then, Do you know how linking works?" Clara asked.

"Not entirely, but I think I have a good idea of it. If I have it right, at least for my method, I need to overlap my veins around my heart with a new layer of mana, and branch the mana veins out to where the construct is, that way it will become self sustaining as the construct will become more solidified with the mana heart constantly reinforcing it, while also increasing the mana hearts generative capacity since it'll increase my mana space senses as well."

"It's a good thing you know all about that, I had forgotten about the fact that you use a different method than I do."

"Alright then. I'll start then. Just watch over me while I do so." Johan said.

"Sure, I guess I could." Clara gave a small grin.

Johan smiled a bit at her snarky attitude before he started to focus his view of mana into his body. His outer senses dulled as he gathered all of his mana into his center. He decided to start with the construct, though he wasn't sure it mattered that much.

He gathered the mana into an ovular shape, tilting it slightly. He would start with this pill like shape, and treat it like a sculpture, slowly forming it to what he wanted. He started with the head of the raven. It's small beak slightly open, and it's face having slight detail of feather, the eyes were soon perfectly done.

He moved down the figure of the bird, he first formed the body, the roundness of its bottom half of the torso contrasting with the relatively straight back. Johan thought for a moment, but decided to make the wings out stretched, reforming the body slightly to match that aspect. It was lucky that until he connected mana veins to the construct it would not be considered done, and thus still pliable.

After the body was completed, he meticulously worked on the wings, not every feather was shown, but he did ensure that a great amount of detail was visible. Johan considered his control to be rather good. After finishing the wings, Johan worked on the feet. The feet were quickly completed as compared to most of the rest of the body.

After he had finished with that, he overlooked the entire construct, fixing small mistakes, as well as making slight adjustments until it was how he wanted it. At that point, he decided to work on the mana veins. It would hurt, but he needed to construct them for it to work right, and besides, he had already done something similar to his heart, he should be fine with this amount.

Slowly he started from the base of the artery sticking out of his heart, encasing it in a second layer of mana, painstakingly, he lengthened the mana, checking for gaps constantly, and enduring the feeling of having needles being stuck into his chest endlessly, he finally made it to the interesting part. Johan now had to branch off the veins of his physical body.

He shifted the mana vein slightly, diverging it from the main artery it was attached to. He then led it to his Construct, making sure to thin it out by putting different diverging points with the artery sized mana vein, until it became roughly the size of the vein that traveled the length of his arms.

Finally, he just needed to connect it to the raven Construct. Johan decided it would be a good spot to attach it at where the cloaca would have been, both because it would be kind of funny, and also because he hadn't made that detail, so he would just cover it. He slowly and cautiously attached the vein to the Construct, and finally, he finished. He could feel it, the gradual improvement of the radius of his manaspace, it wasn't immediate, thankfully, but it was successful.

Johan sighed with relief. As well as some level of exhaustion. Just like with his mana heart, he was tired from all of that mana being used, and also felt somewhat weak again.

"Done?" Clara said from behind him.

"Yeah... Oof, I forgot how much that takes out of you." Johan flopped backwards, simply laying on the ground, coated in a sheen of sweat. From there he could see that Clara was wearing clothes that were different from he workshop clothes. She wore a grey wool sweater and a pair of slightly oversized woolen pants that were held up with a belt. Her brown hair hanging down around her face as she looked down at Johan.

"It's already night time, you know."

"Really?" Johan checked his watch, noting the fact that it said 9:23. "Whoa, that took longer than I thought it had."

"Yeah. Well, it wasn't too bad keeping watch, gave me plenty of time to work anyways. Congrats by the way."

"Thanks... For all of it. It really is cool that you were so willing to help me learn about this stuff, and also willing to keep watch while I built my first Construct."

Clara turned a bit red, caught off guard by the compliment. "Well, it's fine. Someone had to do it. Anyways! If you're done, could you leave so I can go to bed. Though, you could sleep next to me if you want to." She smirked at the end.

"Cool, I'll sleep in your bed." Johan replied immediately. He was exhausted beyond believe. Honestly he wasn't sure if he would be able to make it to David's if he were to head back.

"Alright, goodbye... Whoa, hold on! did you really say yes?" Clara asked, turning even more red, she hadn't expected Johan to so readily accept it, she was only really teasing him after all.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted, I think I'll be passing out here in a moment truth be told." Johan said, drowsily.

Clara put her hand up to her forehead. Of course he had been exhausted he just got done advancing.

"Alright, get in bed. I'll be there in a minute." She said.

Johan pulled himself off the floor and walked over, only stopping for a second to remove his shoes, then he flopped down onto the bed, and passed out nearly immediately, his mind only thinking about his odd position for a second before being lost into the sea of unconsciousness.

Clara meanwhile watched as Johan did this. He wasn't a bad looking man, perhaps a bit young, but really Clara was only 22 this year, so there wasn't that big of a difference in reality... She shook that thought away. She was well aware that Johan would be leaving soon, she wouldn't get too attached. She slid into bed beside Johan. tussling his hair a bit. It was rather peaceful. She slowly fell asleep next to him.
