Magus Blood
Sweet! My Merlin's descendant bloodline was unlocked. I wonder what it does. A window popped up in front of my eyes blocking everything else.

MERLINS DESCENDANT BLOODLINE
You are a descendant of the Arch Magus Merlin! Merlin was gifted with immense magical talent, and the gift of sight. A very rare combination, Merlin spent many years as a Seer and as an advisor to Royalty. But few knew the full might of Merlin's magic! As his descendant you are granted the following: x2 the normal amount of Mana, spells will cost 20% less to cast, and spell power will be improved by 25% in all spell schools.
What?! Double mana, 20% less mana use, 15% faster spell casting, and 25% to spell power! This bloodline is OP! And it’s considered weak, not sure what all the rankings for them are, Blaise only mentioned the one below weak was poor. My deep-seated dream of being a spellcaster appears to be coming true! My health and stamina are both respectable for a level 1 character in most games, but my mana is insane! 520 MP at level one! Now only if I knew how to cast a spell...Disregarding everything else I turned towards the lake, and while screaming out "FIREBALL!!!" I thrust my right palm towards the pond. In my mind I pictured a fireball building in my right hand with every bit of imagination I had and pictured it flying from my hand into the pond. With disappointment I didn't manage to accomplish anything except scaring a few birds from their trees, who squawked, chirped, and in one case growled at me in annoyance before they calmed back down.
Well, I won't try that again; I take be growled at very seriously. Looking all around me I didn't see any animals besides a few colorful birds I didn't recognize, and what appeared to be a very large Squirrel badger hybrid looking thing sitting on a tree limb high up munching on some type of nut. I didn't know if he was also a meat eater, but I got the feeling that I would be safe if I didn't provoke him and did not urinate on his tree.... That’s a strange thought.
CONGRATULATIONS
5% Skill increase to Anatomy (Beast)
1% Skill increase to Biologist
10% Skill increase to Survivalist
In my excitement over my sweet bonuses for spell casting, and my utter failure at spell casting I forgot I had actually unlocked some skills. I started going over my status page again. My stats had stayed the same, my abilities were still locked but on staring at it the system let me know it would unlock once I reached level 5! I wonder if I will get anything good. Anyway, now I can check out my skills. The anatomy skills make sense considered I studied biology in college and graduated with honors, so I guess becoming a biologist gained me the biologist skill, anatomy skills, and Herbalism must be due to all those classes I was required to take in plant biology. It also probably helped my skill level with all the time I spent helping my mom with our small garden growing up. Lastly Survivalist must be from my backpacking trip, and all the time I spent training and preparing the past couple of years.
With all this new information and the excitement of this adventure that was in front of me, that would surely feature magic, monsters, and loot! It was at this moment my brain decided to remind me, and it hit me like a ton of bricks going 100mph. I was never going to see my mom again or my friends. At least my girlfriend of the past 2 years dumped me six months ago, so I didn't have to worry about her too. Hopefully she will be happy with that little shit she had been cheating on me with. At that moment all the pain from my past and everything I had just lost broke my heart and I fell to my knees next to the pond and began sobbing. I was grieving over never seeing my mother again, and all the pain she would go through when I never returned. "She doesn't deserve this!" I screamed while slamming my fists into the soft ground next to the water with tears flowing from my eyes like a raging river.
Why did they do this to me?! Why wasn't I given the chance of going home when it was clear I had no idea what I was doing? And who was behind it all? Blaise may have been a prick, but I knew deep down this wasn't his doing, he was just following the script he was given. They stole everything from me, my family, friends, even my name! I was Derin Winters back home, if it hasn't happened already soon, I will be announced as missing. And sooner or later I will be pronounced dead and my own mother, who was always there after my dad passed when I was 14, will have to bury an empty box. She will never know what happened to me, she won't know that I didn't die in that forsaken forest.
"You stole my life; you killed Derin Winters. My loving mother will never have closure. suffering endlessly because I couldn't keep my promise to return because of you...Derin may be dead, but I accept my new life as Hawk Direveil, I will survive, grow stronger, and one day. I will find out who you are and will get revenge for Jasmine Winters, my mother. You will regret this day, and my name shall one day strike terror into your soul! This I do so swear!" I ground out in a low voice with my face pointing down towards the ground, slamming my fist into the soft ground. Unknown to myself I wasn't speaking in English, the words were coming out in an old forgotten tongue that hasn't been spoken since shortly after the beginning of time. I also wasn't aware of the change in the time of the day, I had spent hours inconsolably grieving, the day had waned, and night had arrived. Three moons of different sizes hung above me, a small verdant green moon, a slightly bigger reddish-brown moon, and a large purplish moon. All three hung in what felt like a triangle directly above me, all this was going on without my noticing. The forest had gone deadly quiet during my speech. My fury and determination were so great my mind was solely focused on myself at that moment. If I had been able to witness what occurred around me that night, I may have never taken the next step in my journey.

I was shocked at first there was this loud boom as if from a massive drum followed by this black and blood red message, then it was shortly followed by this angelic twinkling sound with a white message with holy gold-colored flecks throughout it. I had no idea that I had just performed an ancient and forgotten ritual, only thing I knew at this point was I was exhausted, my mind was fuzzy, and I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I didn't even notice that my mana was empty, and my stamina was dangerously low before my eyes closed as I laid down next to the water in the clearing.
----------------------------------------
Unknown to Hawk was the six figures hovering high up in the sky observing him. These figures were completely cloaked in shadows, no distinguishing traits could be noted from observing them.
"No one has taken an Oath in the past four thousand years or so, yet this young one takes two in the matter of only a day?" Questioned one of the figures with a deep and masculine voice that you would expect to hear from a master blacksmith or an expert miner.
"It would seem so, and oddly enough he just so happened to appear here. Of all places on this world, the one place where the second Oath could be given.... Odd indeed." Chimed another figure with the melodic voice of an angel.
"I will never understand why you all worry so much; this should be interesting! I can barely contain my excitement to see what he will do!" Another figure voiced their opinion, the voice was definitely male. But it sounded like an average guy you could meet in any gaming chat room, usually the one that would start trolling first.
"There is no use for us to stand around for, he will not awaken till morning. And I will make sure no creatures bother him tonight." A fourth Figure stated in a slightly rough female voice, before multiple animal sounds started to imminent from her hood spreading across the forest. The sounds of all the animals prowling around at night hunting or running from predators quieted down and moved further from the clearing.
"And I will advise all of you to not interfere with him, the future is in flux with his arrival and if you cause trouble for him......" A Dark and heavy voice started and paused to make sure the other 5 figures looked towards him before he continued, "or you will have me as your enemy."
The second this proclamation was made the other 5 figures were shocked. They were each Immortal beings tasked with protecting this plane, and they were never mortals to begin with, but not all immortals are created equal. And none of them wanted this figure as an enemy. They quickly disappeared, even withdrawing their awareness from this area.
This left only the one figure left that had spoken last. He stayed there and stared down at the sleeping Hawk. "I am sorry..." He muttered before he disappeared.
