Chapter 19. Lief's first perk.

Chapter 19. Lief's first perk.

[You have unused Skill points!]

[You have an unused Perk point!]

"Perk point?"

Lief thought for a moment before mumbling "Menu".

[Magic]    [Perks(1)]    [Stats (75)]    [Items]   [Customization]

He tapped on Perks, and his eyesight was blocked, many "perks" popped up in front of his eyes.

Reading through several of them Lief realised that some of these could be incredibly useful!

They were organised into an order Lief didn't yet understand but he had found many perks that caught his eyes, a small amount of them were:

[Skilled]

+5 extra skill points per level.

Cost: 1 perk point.

[Overpower]

Increases strength by 10%.

Cost: 2 perk points.

There was much more, but right now Lief liked these the most.

Lief really liked [Overpower] but after he gave it some thought he knew that that Perk would be best used when his strength is a lot higher to get the most benefits from it.

Lief had already decided when he saw the [Skilled] Perk, he would obviously pick that first as it would enable him to become stronger faster.

He didn't even look through the rest of the perks once he saw [Skilled] it was an obvious choice for him, so he tapped it.

[Perk "Skilled" gained.]

Every level up from now on will now grant 20 skill points.

"So for ever 3 level ups I get it will be like I have levelled up 4 times" Lief was visibly happy with his choice, but now was not the time to celebrate, he had to sign up for the Adventurers Guild before it shut.

So he began to walk towards the Adventurers Guild.

"Wait, does that place even close?" Lief realised how silly he had been, why would a place that gives missions out to Mercenaries/Adventurers close?

Naturally, something like that would stay open all through the night, right?

Lief would have to ask when he arrived.

It was starting to get dark, the streets were still packed with people and shopkeepers were still advertising their wares, however, they were a lot quieter during the night.

After dodging several merchants trying to pull Lief towards their shops, Lief finally arrived at the Adventurers Guild.

The sun was down, it was around midnight yet the lights were still on in the adventurers guild and the noise was no quieter than his last visit.

Walking up to the counters Lief noticed Adam, he looked tired but other than that he still looked the same.

[Adam]

Age 18

(Level 5)

(Receptionist Level 9)

"Oh, you again. I told you, you have to go and get to level 5 before you can join the guild." he reminded when he saw Liefs face.

"Yes, I remember, I'm level 6 now and I'm just wondering how I go about getting a class."

"S-Seriously, so fast? Are you an otherworlder or something?" He whispered behind to counter so that no one but Lief could hear him.

"An otherworlder, what's that?" Lief looked at Adam curiously.

"You don't know? 10 years ago, 100 people were summoned from another world, rumour has it that they were brought here from the far future." He explained to Lief.

"I have lived here my whole life, I have not travelled back in time." Lief mentioned truthfully.

"If that's true, you could probably get enrolled in the guilds elite training school for free with that speed, it's completely up to you. I'm not allowed to report anything you say unless it puts the guild in danger." He whispered to Lief.

"I'll pass on entering a school, for now, there's a lot of things a school can't or won't teach, plus by the sounds of "Elite Training School" I doubt there would be much more than training to fight." Lief sighed before asking again: "How do I get a class?"

"Oh, Of course sorry, allow me to explain. Classes determine what special skills you will have. These are not like stats or woodcutting, these would be special attack moves. It's recommended that you only have either one or two classes as if you have two it takes a lot longer to level them up. However, there is no limit to what we know about, the most someone has had was 5 classes. He maxed each class out before he added a new one but in the end, his final class was his limit and he eventually died at the age of 3,845 years old."

After talking for quite a while about the old man who lived for a long time he finally passed over  a sheet of parchment that explained some Classes and the location of wich you can get them. Adam explained to Lief that some classes are "Secret" and rare so even the Guild doesn't know their locations.

There were still a lot of classes to choose from here.

[Knight]

[Duelist]

[Berserker]

[Wizard]

[Summoner]

[Necromancer]

[Illusionist]

[Ranger]

[Bard]

[Monk]

[Priest]

[Druid]

[Rogue]

Lief patiently read through the long list of Classes, there were truly too many to choose from, he wanted a good portion of these.

The knight, Duelist, Ranger, Summoner and wizard all sounded soo good. The Illusionist sounded fun, but most of all Lief liked the Rogue class.

The rogue class focuses on stealth, theft, assassination, infiltration and much more.

Lief liked to learn things, he was, of course, good at fighting but that doesn't mean he has to like it.

If possible Lief would like to lay traps or sneak up and kill someone fast.

This is why the Rogue was so appealing to Lief, It gave bonuses that helped that and its skills would probably help.

The only problem was the location of the class was: The Black Market.
