Chapter 4 - Sudden Change

Chapter 4 - Sudden Change

Immediately, a blinding light emanated from my body as massive amounts of sillverish purple energy exploded out from my body in a massive pillar of essence that pierced the sky, separating the clouds and continuing up towards the heavens.

“This is… An evolution?!!” (Cecilia)

A horrified expression appeared on her face as the tornado forcefully dispersed, causing her to cough out large mouthfuls of blood. Large cracks appeared on the ground as massive crevices opened up from me as the centre.

“Aghhh! This pain. As expected of an evolution after the realm of Demon Kings!”

The pain was almost unbearable and it felt like there were millions of ants crawling all over my body, biting into me at the exact same time. Enormous amounts of energy continued pouring out of my body, repelling all debris and objects flying around. The Demon King’s city was absolutely devastated as lava began emerging from the ground with the area under my feet being destroyed at an even faster rate.

The pillar of energy obscured my view, however I could sense the immense amount of destruction all around me as objects flew everything in a haphazard manner. Gritting my teeth, I watched as the timer slowly ticked down.

Evolution time remaining: 20 minutes 30 seconds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a certain period of time, the evolution was finally finishing up as the pain assaulting my body was slowly subsiding.

“Haah. What a rookie mistake, to not check whether my evolution was ready or not. If I had not been forced to evolve, I may have just died right then and there”

The pillar slowly dispersed as my figure was revealed to the surrounding world. Forming a reflection of myself, I gazed at the figure of myself which had changed drastically, characteristic of what happens during every evolution.

“Wow, now this is an unexpected change.”

What I saw had greatly shocked me. My height had decreased slightly down to 1.97m and my body had become a bit less muscular, and my long hair shortening. However, the true change that occurred was the golden sheen that had appeared in my eyes and on my hair. The dragon tattoos squirming across my body characteristic of my race had grown in size, extending down to my left thigh as it too, had adopted a golden sheen.

However, behind these changes that had seemingly made me look less domineering, the power now hidden within my body was overflowing, struggling to be released.

“Oh, I almost forgot”

Gazing far off into the distance approximately 300 metres away at a large pile of rubble, I sensed the Demon King Cecilia desperately trying to conceal her presence. However, my evolution had increased my powers almost three fold, making her position blatantly obvious.

The city around me was devastated, however the demons had already started escaping the moment the heroes had started invading. I had realised that my large black bat wings had disappeared, but I was still able to fly, in fact I was able to move even faster.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Leaping from the ground, a massive crater instantly appeared as I disappeared, appearing in front of the giant pile of debris under which the Demon King was hiding. Without even hesitating, I lifted my hand and concentrated my newfound powers as an enormous flame coloured silverfish purple with a hint of gold appeared, expanding until it reached 300 metres in diameter.

“WAIT! Don’t kill me!” (Cecilia)

Instantly, a red figure jumped out of the debris, a panicked expression on their face.

“I’ll become your subordinate so please, just spare my life!” (Cecilia)

“That should have been your answer at the very beginning when I asked you. Now that you have tried to kill me, there is no way I will be able to trust you anymore. Anyone who tries to kill me will definitely die”

Lifting Rashomon and restraining her with the powerful pressure emanating from by body, I was able to swing down when.

“Wait! There is a demon contract that will make me unable to even think about disobeying you, so please! Let me leave. If we sign that contract, then it is impossible for me to betray you and I will have to follow all of your orders!” (Cecilia)

Hearing that, I stopped. It was true that I needed someone who knew a lot of information about this world. Knowing that she was unable to betray me was a relief however there was something suspicious that continuously nagged me.

“You… Why would you sacrifice your life’s freedom just to survive. What you described seems worse than dieing and as a Demon King, I’m sure you have your own pride?”

“I….. have yet to take revenge on them yet! I have struggled my entire life, scheming and slaughtering all those close to me to attain this level of power. I have made countless preparations and taken numerous precautions all just to survive and grow stronger and yet, to meet someone like you today… It seems the heavens want me to die” (Cecilia)

This… seems strangely familiar. Wait! Isn’t this similar to those main characters often read in those xanxia novels? The strong willpower, the gradual grow in strength and those past demon kings that had almost killed even me. If someone just a bit weaker than me or even if several tens of those heroes came, they would still be obliterated. Just thinking about this fact sent a slight shiver down my spine. I saw her in a different light.

“Fine, tell me about this contract and we should sign it. However, if I were to notice the slightest thing wrong or loophole, I will instantly kill you”

“Thank you.. But I get to a certain level of strength, I will tell you about my situation and you must let me take revenge, that is my only condition” (Cecilia)

“Fine, now let’s get this over with”

After that, a typical demon master slave contract that I had commonly seen in many novels was signed as I felt relieved that I had finally obtained someone who had knowledge about this world. I was finally about to find out just what kind of place this world was and how strong it’s residents were.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere far, far away

Countless bolts of lighting struck the ground as thunder crackled continuously. The ominous black clouds were swirling in circles as whirlwinds collided against each other. Within an enormous deep crevice with massive, ominous mountains bordering it, an enormous black castle could be seen, almost half the size of the mountain itself being several hundred thousand metres tall and giving off a desolate presence.

In the centre of the castle, was an enormous majestic hall, several thousand times larger than the one seen in the Demon King Cecilia’s castle, however there was barely and decorations to be seen. Instead, a massive status was set in the very centre, a domineering and horrifying presence being released akin to that of a god.

Suddenly, a bright red light emerged from the statue as the power and strength of the thunder and tornadoes outside intensified a few hundred times, the deafening noise ringing throughout the entire crevice. Immediately, numerous shadows could be seen gathering within the enormous hallway, all of them looking at the statue with reverence.

“How is this possible?!! A new fiend has actually been born?!!! The last one had died four hundred million years ago, exterminated by the entire power of the heavens, and it was made sure that no descendents were present. How can one suddenly appear?” (Kuzura)

A massive nine tailed fox exclaimed in shock, staring at the statue with numerous other lifeforms standing near her.

“HAHAHA It seems that our time has come! IT IS FINALLy TIME FOR THIS WORLD TO EXPERIENCE HELL ONCE AGAIN!”
