Trevor nodded and replied, "Yes, that's Mr. Miles. He's the only person in the military who could be called a general."

Matthew knew he couldn't avoid it. "Then take me to meet him," he said. Matthew wasn't familiar with people in the military, especially since this was a time of peace.

However, it was more accurate to say the country was in a state of relative peace without war rather than describing it as a time of peace. People outside that circle often knew little about those in the military.

Matthew agreed to go solely because Brad had helped him when he invited Zayden. He couldn't forget the favor Brad had done for him.
