Orthir's Region

Hey guys, thank you all for the support thus far. From what I have gathered, it takes votes to put someone in the top 50. Is that correct? Also, if you guys could take the time to rate my fiction, I would be most appreciative. I love any constructive criticism that you can offer. Thanks

Abrum awoke, and wished he hadn’t. Fenrir was no longer on his lap warming him, but someone else was. Lilith was laying on his chest, her mounds pressing up against him; however, that wasn’t the worst part.

She was wearing an extremely revealing black lingerie which starkly contrasted with her white skin. Her stocking clad legs bordered his thighs as she was straddling him. He awoke while stuttering.

“T-The heck is this?!”

Lilith heard him. She sat up on his crotch. The position they were in could be taken in a very… different way. Yawning and stretching out her arms, which made her mounds bounce, she looked at him sleepily.

“Good morning… mi’lord” She said softly and seductively, like they just had a wild night.

“Good morning to you too… Is that what you thought I would say?! Good morning my butt! Why didn’t you sleep in the bedroll? Why sleep out here? And where did that lingerie come from?!” Abrum spewed his questions out frantically without thinking. He mentally face palmed after that last question came out.

“Well mi’lord, you looked… soooooo cold out here,” She breathed out ‘so’ into a seductive sigh. “And I didn’t have the heart to take advantage of the gift you gave me while you suffered. I thought I would keep you warm. And for the lingerie question. As I told you, all my previous magic is gone… except the storage magic. I have many more outfits that I could model for you mi’lord…?”

Lilith looked at him expectantly.

Abrum weakly cried out in his mind “Help me, somebody!” as Lilith started to undo his shirt. She smiled as she started to lick his neck sensually. Abrum just closed his eyes, trying to find his happy place. White sandy beaches, the ocean calmly lapping… gently breeze… NOT WORKING!!! She had moved on to his chest and was tracing her tongue across it gently. Her slender fingers were tracing lines down his abdomen. He knew where they were headed.

At that moment, Fenrir came bounding out of the forest with a deer. Abrum nearly cried with joy. She bounded onto Abrum, knocking Lilith off. She sat on top of his abdomen wagging her tail.

“I brought meat! That means you make it yummy, right?”

She said while pawing at his chest, while her tail wagged back and forth. Abrum breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Fenrir appreciatively. He scratched her ear and whispered in his mind

“Thank you.”

Cocking her head to one side in puzzlement, she looked at him. He just scratched ears and asked her to get off.

Fenrir padded over and sat obediently by the deer that she had caught, her eyes filled with the expectation equivalent to a child on Christmas. Abrum sighed in relief as he got up from that uncomfortable position. He collected himself and prepared the meat.

Lilith pouted but got changed to Abrum’s relief. The clothing materialized in her hands. Abrum went back to cooking the food. While he was cooking, he conversed with Fenrir about the location of the guardians.

“So where exactly are the guardians?”

“They are scattered around the forest. The forest is split up into 12 sections. We currently are at the east most section. The guardians roam around the forest on patrols. The area we are currently in is the territory of the weakest of the guardians.

“Yes yes…”

Abrum wanted to try something different with the meat today since Lilith seemed to dislike it yesterday. Abrum while he carried on his conversation, he saturated the meat with ground up herbs mixed into water to create an aqueous solution. He then added it to the meat, and it sank in while sizzling. After an extended period of time, the water had evaporated, leaving the meat saturated with the herbs. The meat had become tender, not juicy though.

Abrum was quite proud of the meat he had made. The smell alone made Fenrir wag her tail crazily, puddles of drool began to form at her front paws. He set down a meat skewer in front of Fenrir, which she promptly devoured.

The reaction was quite melodramatic. Fenrir’s eyes sparkled, her ears perked up. Her tail was moving extremely fast. She lay on her back. He heard her voice in his head

“I… have seen HEAVEN!!!!!!!!” She lay there, not moving… perfectly still. Abrum was quite puzzled at this reaction. He handed a skewer to Lilith, who ate it. No abnormal reaction. Abrum looked quite puzzled and was about to take a bite of his when he noticed something. She wasn’t moving. She fell over onto her back and lay there with a smile of bliss on her face.

Title: Superb Chef has been gained

Cooking has levelled up to intermediate 1

‘My first title and it had to be a chef. Joy…’

Just then, Fenrir picked up her head and sniffed the air. Her ears flattened on top of her head and she growled. At the edge of the clearing, a large white wolf emerged. The wolf stood about 4 feet tall from paw to head, and 6 feet long from head to tail. It was pure white. The creature would be majestic, but its eyes precluded that image. Its eyes twitched and darted around at irregular intervals. It stalked into the clearing and stood above Lilith.

Warning the Mad Guardian of the Forest, Orthir, has arrived

‘Oh… snap…’

The wolf just grinned and looked at Lilith. Abrum, with worry filled eyes, threw a filled meat skewer at the wolf. The wolf caught it with its mouth and bit down. The meat filled its mouth and the wolf smiled. It licked its lips, hungrily. The madness in its eyes was replaced by hunger.

‘…Crud…’

It left Lilith behind and began to pad over to Abrum. Closer and closer, its feet brought its huge body closer. Its legs contracted convulsively as it came closer. Half the distance had been covered when something odd happened. The wolf paused mid step, its convulsions stopped as well. The wolf had a big stupid grin on its face. Just like Lilith’s… It fell over on its side with that frivolous grin.

“What?”

*Ding*

Abrum pushed the notification aside for the moment. If it was immobilized, he could heal it. Abrum rushed forward with enthusiasm.

‘This may be easier than I thought…’

And that’s when the wolf’s consciousness resurfaced. It glared at Abrum and tried to stand up.

“To late for that wolfie…” muttered Abrum as he jumped on top of the wolf’s back and placed his hand on it. “Purify.”

*Ding*

With the activation phrase, a blinding flash of light was produced. At this, Abrum started to cough violently. He turned away from the wolf and continued to cough until the light faded away. When he opened his eyes, he noticed two things. One, the ground that he was coughing towards was dyed blood red. Second, he was sitting on top of a naked female. Her hair, which reached to her shoulder blades, was silky and white. Her figure was modest, but still nicely shaped. She had blue eyes. There were three things abnormally different about her.

1: The wolf ears that sprouted out from her hair

2: The wolf legs that she possessed in lieu of human legs. They were covered in white fur.

3: The fluffy wolf tail that sprouted from just above her butt

Fortunately, there was fur covering her most important parts…

He was sitting on top of her, which he realized was an awkward position. Lilith had been awakened by the flash of light. Her eyes were opened wide, staring at him accusingly. Abrum put his hands up and attempted to stand up. He was grabbed by the wolf girl and pulled back down. She was on top of him now straddling him.

“Mooooooaaaaaarrrr!!!!” She moaned. Abrum’s face went bright red.

“M-m-more what?”

“MEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT!!!”

At this point, she started to paw… or was it hand at him? Abrum just nodded wearily, and pushed her off. At this, Fenrir started to complain to him as well. Lilith, whose eyes had been shooting daggers just a moment ago, were now emulating the puppy eyes of Fenrir.

Abrum just sighed and started to prepare the remaining deer meat. Orthir was waiting patiently, her tail wagging back and forth. \

‘Great. What have I done now?’

While he was cooking the meat, Abrum checked the system messages.

You have discovered the one perk of the title Superb Chef. Due to the taste, when your dishes are consumed, they send the consumer into a brief period of intense ecstasy. How much time is put into the dish will differ the duration of said ecstasy. Depending on the person, your food may become addictive.

Abrum was quite pleased with that one. This would make the trip much easier. He moved onto the next message. As soon as he opened it, his expression darkened. His expression became worse and worse, and when he was finished, his face was the color of ash. He gloomily went back to his cooking. Saturating the meat with the herbs. He went through the whole process again until he had 7 filled meat skewers. He then went over to the waiting Fenrir, Lilith, and Orthir.

Orthir immediately snatched one from his hand and began to munch on it. Fenrir jumped and grabbed hers out of the air. Abrum handed Lilith one and sat down. His face lit up when he tried his cooking. It WAS good, but that was it. He looked around and the reactions were different with each person. Lilith was red in the cheeks breathing heavily. Fenrir was munching the meat with an expression of complete bliss.

Orthir… now Orthir’s reaction took the cake. She was staring at the meat skewer intently, taking in its scent. She took a bite, and her expression changed drastically. Her cheeks loosened, her eyes went wide, and she began to drool. After the first bite, a message came up

Earned 30 contribution points for Orthir’s Region

Intimacy with Orthir has increased by 60

After this, she began chowing down. The message boxes that kept popping were so numerous that it clouded Abrum’s vision. Four skewers of meat later, Abrum had amassed 2,400 contribution points, and his intimacy with Orthir was 4,800. Abrum knew the cap for intimacy was 5,000, so he was surprised he had raised it so quickly. He knew Lilith’s intimacy was in the high four thousands because he had saved her from her fate. The fox twins’ intimacy was in the three thousands, however the Absolute Loyalty subskill maxed it out. Fenrir’s was a whopping 4,900.

‘Dear heavenly Father… thank you for the Superb Chef skill… Amen.’ Abrum prayed in his mind.

As he was praying, Orthir cleared her throat.

“Thank you for saving me from my horrible fate human. I am deeply grateful for your intervention. If not for you, my region would never recover. I thank you for saving my region. Also…thank you very much for the meat. It was delicious. It was juicy. It was tasty. Etc. Etc.”

As Orthir began to rant about the meat, Abrum coughed softly to get her attention.

“Oh… yes. Besides the meat, I believe your rewards are in due order. You may choose anything from this forest to take with you as long as you have enough contribution points. This is a great honor for a human.”

With that said, the forest became alive with floating boxes, the prices. The trees were 100-200 points. Fenrir had a price of 500. Above Orthir’s head was a floating box that denoted 20,000 points.

“Why are you worth so much Orthir?”

“It is only natural, I am a class B+ boss after all.”

“B+? Is that a ranking?”

“Why yes, the combat ranking system. The system ranks fighters from rank F to S. F being to lowest, then E, D, C, B, A, S. The plus denotes that I am a being that takes a group to defeat me. It is very uncommon to see an A class. S class are known for their unnatural strength. There has only been one documentation of something above an S class..."

“Quiet interesting. What rank would you place me at?”

“I don’t know, but I would place your cooking at Sage.”

“Is that another classification system?”

“Yes, skill have a different category. Going from least to greatest, these would be the rankings. Apprentice, Tradesman, Sage, Master, Legendary. Sage is usually the highest a human can reach in its life time, at least for the category of cooking.. Masters are respected throughout the lands, regarded as prodigies, regardless of their profession, while Legendary are only known in legend.”

“You keep translating the scale into human limitations, what about those of an Angaellis?”

“I do not know. The Angaellis are beings of immense power and benevolence. My ancestors were saved by the Angaellis. They were given the task to protect the forest. This I will do until my dying breath.”

This conversation gave Abrum much new information, and thus he was happy. He decided to pose another question.

“What would you do if there was an Angaellis on Atreides currently?”

“I would serve them to my dying breath.”

Abrum smiled at this and unfurled his wings. Orthir went slack jawed…

‘This is gonna be a fun reaction’ Abrum thought with glee.
