Chapter 1: Is She My Mother?

Chapter 1: Is She My Mother?

My eyes flutter open as I awoke within the unfamiliar room. I look around the room, noticing the fancy and expensive looking ornaments and furniture.

I see a woman, adorned with straight, long crimson hair and shining grey eyes. She wore a really elegant purple dress, with a tight looking corset. She was adorned with expensive looking jewellery, one I would never thought to see in my life.

Even though she was surrounded with lavish items, her eyes looked dull, as if she never wanted any of it.

Besides her were two maids, the other one was looking bright while the other stoic. The sunny maid had brown wavy short hair and hazel eyes, while the other had purple straight long hair and pale blue eyes. Her hair was mesmerizing, it looked natural.

But all things aside, who are they and why are they here?

I open my mouth to speak only to hear soft gibberish noises. As I lift my hand, I noticed how small it is, too small to even be my hand. I slowly move my fingers one by one only to have noticed, I’m in a baby’s body.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

This is quite strange. I’m certain that the soul’s memory should be erased before even transferring to another body as to avoid confusions, theories and emotional break downs, at least that’s what I think. But I mean, I am an atheist so I don’t really know anything.

Although it is strange, it’s also advantageous for me. My knowledge would be useful in finding an academy. But it would’ve been better if I read more books about different topics, in the end I only know psychology.

After all this thinking, I think I got hungry. Should I call them? How again?

…Oh right. Of course, how could I forget? It’s why I didn’t like babies at first.

I open my mouth and make the most annoying noise ever. I cried loudly to let them know of how hungry I was, and well, I am really hungry. Rebirth really is energy-consuming, or maybe it's just about being a baby.

The elegant woman rushed over to me with her maids. Her dull eyes shine as she approached me.

“Calm down, my darling. Are you hungry?” She says as her sweet voice soothes me. The maids hurriedly prepared the milk bottle while the woman cradled me in her arms. She was a sweet and loving woman.

So, is she my mother? I think so.
