Part 3
“And? Why are you lying down there?”
'munch munch'
No response came from Kamijou’s question. Only the sound of munching and drinking continued on.
(Ah, might as well just wait for her to finish.)
Kamijou parted with seven pieces of his rye bread with tears in his eyes. He could not help but feel that even through this game, he would suffer a poor lifestyle struggling everyday for food to eat. Luckily, the canteen can be freely refilled by water from the fountain. It’s unthinkable to drink from those in real life but since this was a game, he thought it should be fine.
Kamijou, Misaka Imouto, and the other person who was currently eating were seated in a plaza where the fountain is at. Several glances were sometimes directed at them, most likely because of the way the other person ate, but Kamijou and the rest just ignored them.
After spending some more minutes to finish the meal, the previously ‘dead body’ energetically stood up and faced Kamijou.
(If it’s Index, would she finish those breads in just a minute?)
Kamijou felt a little embarrassed as the thought of missing Index came to his mind. He could easily meet up with her though in real life. It seemed that he was still not used to the four times increase in length of time here.
(Makes me remember all those worlds with Othinus. It's different but somehow similar.)
A wry smile appeared on Kamijou. He soon noticed the other person finished eating and stood directly in front of him. The eyes filled with despair earlier was now gone, replaced by a gaze full of vigour and life.
The person in front of him, a girl, looked around 14 years old. Slightly taller than Index, her hair was tinged with golden color that shone brightly. Her face had some degree of dignity instilled in it and if not for her ragged clothes, one may mistake her for a noble of prestigious lineage.
The girl raised her right hand and held her palms upward.
“?”
Kamijou tilted his head. Misaka Imouto sitting beside him seemed uninterested with the two while looking absentmindedly at the fountain.
Ten seconds… Thirty seconds… A full two minutes passed with the girl still on the same position.
Irritation soon clearly became visible on the girl’s face.
“Are you dumb? How long are you going to make a lady stay like this? Hurry up and give me money. At least 200 silver should be enough.”
The girl said with a haughty expression fitting her noble-like face.
A dumbfounded look spread across Kamijou’s face. Followed by the sound of veins popping.
‘Donk’
Kamijou stood up and brought his too-used right hand and delivered a blow of justice on top of the girl’s head. It made the girl sit down with tears on her eyes.
Truthfully, Kamijou never expected to be thanked or anything. He just did what he wanted after all. But the too proud attitude of the girl in front of him was just too unexpected for him that it made his body move automatically.

(This girl first needs to learn some manners.)
Thinking like that, looked down on the crouching girl.
“What did you do that for!?”
With tears still in her eyes, the girl looked questioningly at Kamijou. It was as if she did not understand why she was hit.
“What kind of attitude is that?”
The girl rose from her crouching pose and looked fiercely at Kamijou. Because she was shorter than him, she had to look up with that kind of expression. Instead of scaring others away, it looked nothing like what it’s intended.
“How about you!? Who would hit a lady in her head!?”
The scowling voice was followed soon by another ‘donk’ sound. It brought the girl once again to a crouching position while patting the top of her head.
“Okay. Time for Kamijou-san’s question corner~! First question! What should a proper person do after being helped?”
“What? Why should I answer that? Just hurry up and give me 200 silver!”
Kamijou deliberately raised his right hand and clenched it. The right hand which broke too many illusions would also break the girl’s illusion as she shivered at the thought of getting hit again.
“I know! I know…so please don’t hit me… Thank you for the food.”
Kamijou then showed a proud look while nodding. Probably thinking how good he was at educating.
“Teaching using violence says Misaka while looking with cold eyes.”
Misaka Imouto’s words did not reach the girl who was still holding her head in pain and Kamijou who was still feeling proud of himself.
Some five minutes have passed until the situation calmed down.
“So what do you need the 200 silvers for?”
The girl did not answer Kamijou’s question and just looked down. Kamijou decided to not pursue it anymore after seeing that as he stood up.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. You don’t have to tell Kamijou-san the reason. I don’t think I have that amount of money on me though.”
After saying that, the girl looked at him with sad eyes about to cry anytime.
“I will help you with getting 200 silvers so please stop looking at me like that.”
Kamijou inwardly sighed. The girl looked at him happily though so he could only smile in return.
“We’re planning to do quests anyway so this should be fine. Now let’s go quest hunting!”
The two girls beside him also stood up from the bench.
“Ah by the way. I’m Kamijou Touma. Call me anything you want.”
Kamijou introduced himself with a smile.
“Misaka 10032, says Misaka introducing herself.”
Misaka Imouto also did the same albeit expressionlessly.
Facing the two who introduced themselves, the girl lift the hems of her tattered long skirt and made a slight bow.
“My name is Alice. Alice vi Arpenia!”
Now begins Kamijou’s quest hunting!
