Hello readers, I know it has been a long time between chapters but like I said my life keeps me from being able to write as much as I would like. So here is chapter 2.
Also in this chapter I have included a Generalized Altered History, Character Sheet, Magic System if anyone is interested in those. They of course will be in spoiler tags. I also may put status's in tables but at this time I can't do it until I figure them out lol
Might be some mistakes in the spoilers I wasn't exactly focused to much on PR'n those.

Running at a full sprint towards his home, Jacob realizes he’s running faster than he ever has. Jacob then makes his way through the town within minutes. Not caring for the looks on people’s faces as he makes his way through Main Street. Weaving and cutting through roads and alleys.
‘Wow this place is so different. Wow, the town is different than I remember. The buildings are made of materials that are foreign to me, they give off an energy I don’t understand. Yet familiar.’
Stumbling as another flash of memory hits his senses. Coming to a stop he remembers that the buildings are enchanted to preserve and protect them.
‘Enchanted? Magic? It's real here? How is that possible? This is just too weird, *sigh* I’ll try to figure it out later.’
Resuming his run he finally arrives outside his house. Just as he’s grabs the door knob a flash of memory hits him like a mack truck. As a myriad of images assault his mind and he falls to the ground with immense pain. The pain finally passes, and he gets to his feet.
‘What is this? Feels as though I just saw a lifetime of memories, it's weird they're not the same as the ones I’ve experienced so far. From what I can tell from these disjointed memories I’ve never lived here in this timeline.’ he thinks with a look as sadness and worry on his face
“Shit! I’ll have to go to the family home, hopefully I can figure out where Scarlett from there.” he says aloud.
Running down the road he comes up to a familiar house. As he grabs the door knob, again a flash of images hit his mind, with less pain than before. This time the images show him that he and his family does live here but no sign of Scarlett. Opening the door and walking in, he notices so many machines and furniture he’s never seen. They to give off the same energy as the homes. Moving through the house yelling for his family.
His mother comes running in asking, “What’s the matter honey? Why are you yelling?” she says with her face full of worry
.…. ‘She looks so young.’ Another flash of memories hits him. ‘Ah alchemy, potions along with magic a person can increase their lifespan. No wonder she looks so young.’
“Baby what’s the matter?” his mother asks again
“Sorry mom Um, can you please tell me where Scarlett is?” he asked hesitantly
“Scarlet, who’s that Jacob?” she answered in confusion
‘No no no no no no no no, this can’t be happening. I can’t believe that she doesn’t know Scarlett. She’s been my best friend since childhood. She’s been my wife for 3 years now. How much of the future has changed.’
As he’s thinking this, he’s hit with more memories and finds out that he has never met Scarlet. The impact and everything that has happened so far put great pressure on his mind and body and collapses on the spot. His mother frantic and grabs him as he falls. Her hand starts to glow white with blue tint and caresses his head in a loving manner. His body starts to glow the same hue of white and blue. Assessing that nothing is wrong with him other than fatigue. She with what looked to be an unnatural strength picks him up and brings him to his room.
Waking up close to 12 hours later. He finds himself in what at first looks to be an unfamiliar room but then soon information is shown to him and realizes where he is.
‘What happened? Did I pass out? Ugh, I can’t understand what’s happening. How did this happen? First I learn that magic is possible and now Scarlet is lost to me. No way does saving my brother have this big of an effect on the future. How does one life saved make this future possible?’
‘I’m going to have to research on what has happened since September 11, 2001. Thank god the internet still exists and I have a computer in my room.’
Turning on the computer, he looks at the time and date… May 6, 2011 4:23 am. Stunned, ‘What the hell? 2011, that means...Oh shit!’
“Mirror, where’s the mirror?” Looking at himself in a mirror. He’s in shock, right now he’s looking at a 18 year old version of himself.
‘Wow I can’t believe I’m 18 again. It must be because of the merge with my other self. And is allowing my body to sync with this timeline to keep me from becoming unstable, and why the memories are hitting me in intervals. The stimuli from everything I see and hear causes flashes of the memories as I stabilize. But what about when I touched the door knobs on the two houses? Was as if I was seeing the past lives of the houses as I touched them. It may have something to do with the energy from the core my body absorbed. It is directly related to time, so maybe when I touch things I can see their past? Yeah that has to be it. I’ve gained the ability to see the past of an object or maybe a person as well, I’ll have to test that out.’
Going back to the computer and grabbing the mouse, ‘huh why aren’t I seeing the past of the mouse? Do I need to focus on it? But I didn’t need to the first 2 times. Maybe my mind was unconsciously doing it? Only one way to find out.’
As he focuses on the mouse, he starts to see a faint energy coming off it. Touching it, images enter his mind showing everything from now back to its manufacturing.
“This is too cool! Being able to see the past of something will be quite the advantage for learning about the world and the secrets around me. Alright time to get to it. I need to find out how much I fucked up the future.”

General history of what happened after MC left up to the Present:
After Jacob made his trip back to the present, the earth core underwent a huge change. Causing small earthquakes, floods, severe electrical storms all around the world. Killing thousands of people. This had a huge impact on the future causing a different future than what Jacob had remembered. It’s amazing that he exists in this world and some of the many people he knew but there are a couple people that never existed or he never knew in this timeline. After all the catastrophes, the Earth’s core stabilized and started to emit “mana”. Causing great changes in all walks of life. From the smallest insect to the largest animals and Humans.
Animals changed drastically, some increasing in size, decreasing in size, growing extra appendages such as a horn, scales, spikes, thick skin, more legs or arms, eyes etc.. Increases in strength, intellect, dexterity, speed, vitality in most. Also with decreases in these stats as well for those unfortunate animals. Some of the animals only changed to the smallest degree, thus giving earth ecosystem walks of life from old to new. This didn’t happen immediately, this happened over next 5 years.
As the changes occurred in the inhabitants of earth due to the core of the planet inexplicably emitting mana. The people were at hard times, and some of those noticed they were different. They could bend the laws of physics, create things out of thin air, enhance their bodies to do more than what they thought a human was capable.
After 4 months of people experiencing these occurrences, governments conducted high level research in the phenomenon now known as magic. Unfortunately a year later the good and evil of people were using their powers to do the unimaginable. Some used it to help people, others used it to murder. By this time a few of the world superpowers had developed several organizations to help quell the chaos caused by magic.
They came up with training programs to help build up powerful armies of mages to combat both foreign and domestic magic happenings. As the years went on those organizations had gotten better at detecting and stopping those that would harm and recruit those with highest potential. Small wars took place all around the world during this time of change. Even the smallest of these battles had a great impact on the countries where they fought. Eventually the world’s superpowers stepped in to stop these fights. This unfortunately had a disastrous consequences. These powers would often fight each other during these conflicts causing some of them to escalate to full blown wars. Which turned into full blown world war.
As countries battle each other for supremacy they developed technologies and several kinds of magic. They found different ways to heal and cure, they created pinpoint to area effect combat spells. Also infused technology with magic by molding mana into weapons or used special runes to create certain effects such as lightning or fire. Many new weapons were created that utilized these.
Like this 4 years had passed, to many people died, and Earth had been devastated. Seeing this, those in power realized that if they don’t stop the war as soon as possible they could well destroy Earth. Magic was the same as if they used WMD’s. This was the dooming truth they had realized with their lack of foresight and understanding of mana and magic.
In the 4th year of the war, the major powers had all come to a ceasefire. There were many skirmishes and small battles but the all out war was coming to a close fast. 4 years 7 months, a UN Summit was conducted, being one of many that occurred during the war. This summit was to bring about the end of the war. 3 months later most small battles had been snuffed out by the joint forces of the UN.
An agreement had been reached that allowed the top mage’s all around the world to come together to learn from one another thus creating “The Council.” They developed the testing technology and magic system they use today. Created specialized schools to help the people learn and understand their abilities. They at one point created limiters for the children because during these 5 years many children had either hurt themselves or others by using magic they weren't ready for.Thus the limiters were created to helped the children develop without problems. Fortunately during the war the prototype limiters were available and so the damage and the death toll of and from the children was minimal.
Child development:
It was learned early on that kids shouldn’t learn higher levels of magic until 18 years old. To use high level magic before then can be detrimental and dangerous for them. This is because the high chance to lose control and cause great harm to themselves and others. The reason being is that their bodies and minds have to mature enough to gain the control they need. Even though some kids mature faster than others, a general time frame was needed to ensure everyone’s safety. Kids are placed with limiters at birth to allow their minds, bodies and mana wells to develop normally without the strain from high level magics exuded on them.
Most kids can and are taught to use basic magic to a proficient degree. Kids are tested at a young age of 8, for their magic power, mana well/recharge ability and affinities. Once they turn 18 they are tested again to determine their growth now that their bodies are developed enough to handle the more advanced magic. Kids are encouraged to learn all forms of martial arts to help further along their development at a young age or at least weight/strength/stamina training to ensure that they have the highest effect possible on developing their mind and body to use the advanced level magic.
With the joint efforts of The Council and governments around the world peace had been achieved. Magic was a common thing now. People used it in their jobs and daily lives. Tech combined with magic had re-imagined old technologies like the toaster, dishwasher, tv, armors, weapons etc., along with new tech like focuses, ways of transportation like flying vehicles, energy shields, to name a few. Enchanting and Alchemy had become a big part of society. Just about everything is enchanted nowadays. Alchemy has brought about potions that can do just about anything such as enhancing the body or slow the aging process and curing diseases and increase crop growth and yields of plants.
Toward the end of the war and the years after many new factions of humans have come about such as:
Devs: are like Dwarves from fantasy. They are not all short like dwarves, they come in different sizes just like other humans. Often called dwarves which refers to their high affinity to Earth. And their ability to craft exquisite pieces of equipment, such as high end combat suits, weapons. And high quality works of art such as, statues, paintings, literature. Devs are a big part of the construction industry because of their deft hands and abilities. Devs are course following the lifestyle of “Dwarves” produce some of the highest quality alcohol and can drink any others under the table. They are some of the best Rune-smiths in the world.
Elves: are like the elves you read in fantasy but with minor differences. They can have slightly or prominent pointed ears. This is not hereditary. This is done through cosmetic surgery for those that like to play the role of fantasy elves. They come in different sizes just like any other human. They have a high affinity with nature. And as such they are similar to elves of fantasy. Live within forests, most are solitary, have advanced mana wells, advanced Intelligence, great family bonds, and can manipulate and use nature with ease. Produce some the best works of art even more so than the Devs. Also produce their own specialty foods that can’t be found anywhere else and are traded with other humans. They are also some of the best Originators in the world, whom are highly sought after.
Beast-men: They are human through and through. The reason they are referred to beast-men is like the elves they live with nature, but more to the point with animals. Each beast-man has an affinity with nature, but also has an uncommon affinity with animals. So much so that they take on characteristics of many animals, such as: Bears, Tigers, Lions, Monkeys, Gorillas, Wolves, Dogs, Cats, and so on. This is obtained when they get their animal companion. Animal Companion is received on their 13th birthday. The child is brought to a special place in the forest where many animals reside an, “Animal Sanctuary”. There they meditate and push their aura outward calling for their animal companion whom they will share a great bond with. They solidify this bond by an exchange of mana with one another. This could take to 5 minutes or 5 hours depending on the child and companion. They are the greatest hunters and foragers in the world. And provide most of the rare animal delicacies.
Origins: (Humans) are as always an adaptable people. Curious and adventurous. They are at the forefront of exploring the ever changing world. Finding new plant and animal life. From the Crocolisp (12’ tall man eating plant), the 4’ tall Molenar (mana evolved mole rat), the small 10” tall Jabawaki (mana evolved Kangaroo). All this to further their understanding on the effects of mana on the inhabitants of Earth. They are of course aided by the Elves, and Beastmen in these endeavors. Humans can be considered some of the more versatile people. Even though Elves and Beastmen are human they tend to be focused on Nature for the most part. Humans on the other hand are a myriad of different forms of magic and affinities. They tend use all forms of magic even if you don’t have an affinity for some of the possible magics, they still train to use them. They believe in balance in both mind and body. And so try to better themselves in every way possible. They are at the top of Technological development creating things from all kind's mana powered tech to Flying vehicles and teleportation. They are the hub that binds all the other groups together. Allowing for great trade and travel for everyone.
They have many Schools and academies that teach everything they know to everyone. They are at the forefront of knowledge and learning and as such the greatest academy in the world is located in the center of everything in the largest city the humans have, Ailingard . Verimont Eschilon Academy. Created by two of the most prominent and powerful Mages known to exist. Their hope in creating this academy was to bring everyone together and to learn from one another. Which still is, but with one minor detail, they only accept the best. From the strongest mages to the most intelligent or the richest, all others would not be accepted.
Earth is more prosperous than it ever was.
‘Wow, just wow. I’m surprised the world isn’t totally different. Still little similarities with the tech and people, but a 5 year Magical War. I can’t believe it, and all this happened after a catastrophic event that changed the world, and started only a few months after I left. With the sudden existence of Mana and the effect it had on living beings on earth it’s truly remarkable from a scientific standpoint. So humans can use magic, and there're so many it’s unreal.’

Magic System:
Almost everyone learns all the basic magics from age 1 to 18. Everyone has affinities for each basic element and so all magic can be learned given enough time, say for specialized magics related to specific high affinities for certain elements; Example of such is Gravity or Time and Space.
It is believed to perform at peak efficiency and proficiency one must be well versed and able to use the basics of each element at the very least. The more one understands each element the more a Mage can increase their power and versatility.
Of course people have high affinities for certain elements for which they focus on. Only in these elements will their true potential will be reached. With multiple high affinities comes specialized magic only they can do. A given example is: Hurricane or Distort Space

Ranks of Power/Control in the Elements and Magic:
Beginner>Basic>Intermediate>Proficient>Advanced>Master>Grandmaster>Deity
Without both the power and the control at the same rank a Mages rank will be considered at the lower rank of either until both are at the same level. Example: Power - Advanced, Control - Proficient, Mages rank is Proficient. If the Mage in question were to use Advanced magic and his control is at Proficient, the Mage runs the risk of injury or death. Now if the power was Proficient and the control at Advanced than the Magic output would too small to perform the Magic all together.
Focus’s or Tools:
All Mages have a focus to increase their power output and control in a safe way to allow for higher rank magic in limited uses before damage is inflicted upon the caster’s body. If given enough time between casts a mage can cast the high end magic indefinitely. But in a fight secs can determine life and death.
Example: Mage Staff.
Mages can also use tools to perform magic’s they might not be capable of otherwise. Such as the M29A6 Rifle which is capable of shooting a mana bullet infused with one or many elements depending on the effect the shooter is looking for. Of course there’s a limit to the different kinds of elements and how many can be infused. Combining all elements on one bullet would kill the shooter from the detonation of the weapon. Or combining Fire and Water the two wouldn’t cancel each other out but the damage from either would be severely low.
Other tools include; accessories like rings, necklaces, bracelets etc. that allow mages to cast different kinds of magic.
Example: Mana Shield or Illusion’s.
There are many types of weapons with different effects and magics. Also specialized armor and gear that increase and allow the use of different magics as well.
Example: Gearhead Gauntlets - Allows caster to disable tech in a 10m range for 10 secs.
‘Now the world is divided by different types of humans. When you first see Elves you think of the mythical beings, but these just look human. Well most of them, a few use genetic modification to give them the pointed ears and attractive faces. And Devs, Devs live and control earth as a culture, they invent and create magic devices, armor, weapons, etc., similar to dwarves in fantasy. Then there's the Beast-men, now there's an interesting people. Gaining and living with an animal partner for life and taking on their partner’s characteristics is amazing, definitely worth looking into in more detail. Maybe even visit them and the other cultures.’
‘People and magic. The information said something about being tested at specific ages, I wonder what my power is at and what my abilities are. For reasons unknown I still can’t bring up those memories, hopefully I can find out soon. Though because of what happened to me recently, would the test still be true for me? What if because of the merging I wont be able to use magic?’
‘Well hopefully I can come up with my own way of testing myself for what I’m capable of doing. I’ll just do intensive research into the device they use to test people and come up with one of my own, hell possibly improve upon it haha.’
‘Now to find out where Scarlet is, maybe if I can meet her and I can salvage my past life.'
Hours later.
‘So we go to the same high school. Then why do I not have any memories of her?’
*Flash of memory*
'Ok... now I understand why. I was rated one of the weakest in magic power while she was rated among the strongest. So we were in different classes and cliques. And she lives several towns over, *sigh* Damn these fragmented memories. Going to be hard getting back together if that's even possible. No I refuse to believe it. I will get her back no matter what.’
‘Well we will be going to the same Magic Academy together. Verimont Eschilon Academy, in the largest human city of Ailingard. What’s with those names, someone was definitely going for the atypical fantasy names. Guess I’ll make my move there, no matter the cost.’
*Stomach Rumbling* “Man I’m hungry, what time is it? Seven minutes till 10 a.m, I need something to eat.”
Walking out of his room and making his way down stairs he notices his mother in the kitchen. ‘Alright I got to keep up appearances and try to act normal. If they think something is wrong with me it may affect my plans.'
“Hey mom. Sorry about passing out on you. How long was I out?”
“Almost 19 hours. I checked on you every few hours for a while to make sure you were fine. So how are you feeling now?”
“I’m well now. It must had been the fatigue from my training yesterday. That and the massive headache I had. Sorry if I worried you.”
“It’s ok honey. With my healing abilities you know there’s nothing I can’t handle.” she says with a smile.
“Right,” he says with a wryly smile
“So is there anything to eat?” asks Jacob
“Of course dear, I was just about to make something. What would you like?”
“Whatever you’re having is fine mom.”
“Why don’t you wake up your brother you know how late he sleeps.”
‘My brother. Oh man, I almost forgot. I was so distraught over Scarlett I forgot.’
“Sure mom,” he replies
Making his way to what he believes is his brother’s room. He walks inside and sees his baby brother sleeping in his bed. Standing there for like 5 minutes watching his brother sleep with a smile on his face. He makes his way over and as he’s jostles him awake saying, “Wake up sleepy head.” He’s simultaneously hit with memories of his brother and images of his brother's life as he touches his arm.
Almost falling down from the massive amount of information pounding in his mind he collects himself and continues to wake his brother.
“Just five more minutes Jake.” he says groggily
“Come on get up now. Moms making something to eat for an early lunch.”
“Alright I’ll be there in a minute.” he replies still half asleep
“Well you better hurry up before I eat all the food. I think she’s making your favorite.” he says with a crooked smile.
With that little push his brother Kasey jumps out of bed and makes a run for the kitchen. Jacob coming behind him seeing the look on Kasey’s face full of anger and starts laugh. They get into it a bit and tussle until their mom tells them to stop.
“Alright you two, that’s enough time to eat.”
“Alright mom.” they both reply
As they're about to eat Jacob asks, “Mom is dad joining us?”
“No, you know he’s at work right now.” she says confused by his question.

“Ah right sorry forgot. Guess I’m a little hazy still.”
Mother looking at him nods her head. Seeing the confused look on his brother’s face Jacob explains what happened to him yesterday. As they are eating Jacobs mother remembers something and asks, “Jacob yesterday before you passed out you asked where is Scarlett. Who’s Scarlett?”
With an immediate look of sadness though soon gone he answers, “Oh its no one. I was just confused is all. You know with the headache and everything.”
Then Kasey interjects, “Isn’t that the top rated female student in your high school, Who’s a bombshell to boot?”
With a grin on his mother’s face she says, “Oho so you have a thing for the hot popular girl at school?”
“No um, she is gorgeous, but I just see her around school is all.” he says shyly
“Ok ok, I won't pry but remember you have to introduce me if you ever get involved with her.” She says with an almost vicious grin. And with Kasey laughing to his left.
“We’ll see mom.” he says dejected
After eating and cleaning his dishes, Jacob heads back to his room to come up with a plan to put his life on a track leading to get Scarlett back into his life. And to find out what he can do with his intellect and his new found abilities.
The first part of the plan is to train himself and learn what he is capable of. Second part is to take his knowledge of both timelines and develop a strong financial foundation to support his endeavors. Third part is make sure, come time of his academy days he will be top of his class. He only hopes that his magical power isn’t to bad. As soon as he builds a testing device to see where he is at, he’ll go from there. Fourth part is to get Scarlett back. He only hopes that they can recapture the love they had in his past life.
‘Just hope she’s not totally different from the Scarlett I know or we’ll both have to learn to fall in love with each other all over again, probably the most likely case.’ as he thought with a sadness in his heart.
‘I just have 6 months until school starts. Thank god for the long break, I wonder why that is?’
During the 6 months following the plan, Jacob has come a long way. First getting himself to a gym then from there to a local mix martial arts dojo. With the memories from this life and his past he has a good grasp on the basic’s of his martial arts. He may not be the best at it but he has a good solid foundation. And from there he can improve himself.
Jacob also reinvented the “Magic Power Analyzer” or MPA as he has aptly named it. He used it to test his magic power and affinities. He had gotten ahold of the last test done by the school by hacking into their system. Which was easier than he thought. They did use magic protection, but that was from magic itself and not from hacking. It appears to be a lost art in this timeline. Using that test as a base he tested himself with the device to see where he’s at now, hoping not to be worse off than he what he was. Of course it's said that the test is an estimation and not the true power of the person. To many factors play a part in the strength of a person’s magic, such as will and imagination.

‘Wow so I went from Low Basic to near mid-level Intermediate. What’s with my mana well? Why is there a question mark and core there? Why is my health Unknown? Can it not be quantified? And I can’t believe I have high affinity for all elements now plus several high end ones. I only had intermediate fire and earth and basic for the rest according to the school test. Past and Future Touch, that must be what happened to me when I touched the door knobs of the houses. But I don’t remember seeing the future from them, hmm weird. My abilities are weird as well, they're almost the same say for the question marks. I guess my understanding or the MPA’s abilities aren’t high to discern what those question marks represent. Going have to keep improving the MPA until it gives me what I need to know.’
After learning his abilities and Magic Level Jacob developed a training regimen that'll give him the best and quickest results. In the 6 months, Jacob with his determination
and conviction trained vigorously. His parents and brother wonder what had gotten into him.

Characters that are important in the first few chapters are described here:
Jacob Whedon – Age 18
Characteristics: White male standing at 5’10. He’s from a town several miles out from Washington D.C. He’s a man of average looks. Has a faintly prominent chin and cheek bones, a strong angular jawline. Has short wavy brown hair, and brown eyes blazing with determination. He has somewhat thick eyebrows and a stubble beard. People might call him cute. He goes to the gym and knows a scant amount of martial arts. This gives him a decent physique while weighing at 223 lbs.
He’s a smart kid. Sometimes he’s too smart for his own good. This is a light way of saying he’s a smart ass and this has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. He’s energetic, ambitious, playful, and courteous to those he respects. Only things he takes seriously are those that matter to him. One that matters most is his family. Those that don't interest him he tends to forget and on occasion he has to be reminded of them.
Jacob has a great interest in science and everything related to the field. He's obsessed with time travel and the supernatural. This is a big part of him and has driven him to create his own time machine. Most scientists say it’s impossible. But with his motivation, determination and intellect, he has now succeeded.
Abilities – All magic types from basic elements to the high end gravity/void magic. Also has specialty magic given to him by “Drizen Energy Core”, which allows him to control time up to a point. Such as: slow time by a quarter and for 5 secs , enough time for an edge. Can distort time around him causing those that would do him harm to become nauseous and hallucinate. Anything he touches either inanimate or living he can see it’s past and future (only by 2 weeks for future).
Can turn back time on them as well, which effectually heals or repairs them. Can only accomplish this within 10 mins or he is unable to after that. Also has the ability to distort and separate space, ultimately allows him to travel from one place to another instantly without the use of regular magic or technology. May be able to use such ability to cut and sever anything with the swipe of his hand.
All these special abilities come at a cost, the strain that some of these put on him can and are too much for his body and mind to handle and can only do it a certain amount of times before either starts to go into a state of flux and ultimately starts to break down. If he is not careful he could literally break down his molecular structure and disintegrate his mind or body or both. Course as he trains and learns more about magic he will be able to handle the powers more and more but in the end he can never truly remove the cost of these powers.

After he got back this all changed, He now has advanced magic power and mana well/recharge, but increases as time goes on but not overly OP. Eventually his growth in this will stop at one point when his body stops changing due to the Drizen energy and core fully integrates into him. This growth stops a year after he gets back to the present.
Has little martial arts background, some karate and tae kwon do but nothing anywhere near an expert level. Just enough to help maintain his body.
Bonnie Whedon – Mother, Age 33
Characteristics – 5’9, 133 pounds, Long Brown hair, brown eyes, small eyebrows. And other similar features to her son, but more feminine. She has a down to earth beauty and loving aura. She is a loving, smart and energetic women who cares for her family and supports them the best she can.
Abilities – Proficient in water and light magic. One of the top 50 healers in the country. Works for a prominent Health care facility. Master magic power and mana well/recharge.
Daryl Whedon – Father, Age 31
Characteristics – 6’1, 232 pounds, Shaved Blonde hair, blue eyes, slightly bushy eyebrows, average nose. He too has an angular jawline, slightly prominent cheek and chin bones. Is a smart, loving man who loves his family very much and does his utmost to support his family even in hard times. He can be a hard discipline man but caring. Plays guitar and can be considered pretty good putting some other artists to shame. Owns his own small company (Limitless) Until his son had developed several technologies and place the patents with his father’s company.
Abilities – Proficient in Earth(metals), gravity magic. Owns a decent size construction company, not the biggest bet well off after years of hard work, blood and sweat. Advanced Magic power and mana well/recharge. Advance knowledge in tech.
Kasey Whedon- Younger Brother, age 14
Characteristics – 6’1, 185 pounds, Slightly long Blonde hair, blue eyes. Take after his father in looks with almost the same facial structure. Loves most of the things his brother does. Enjoys playing guitar like his father. Gets along fine with his brother, there are some arguments but with similar interests they get past them. Can be a little indifferent and obtuse at times but usually a happy go lucky kid.
Abilities – Basic water and earth magic. With these tested positive for nature magic which is a slightly rare magic to possess for a human outside the elves and beast-men. Has advance magic power and mana well/recharge. Basic tech knowledge.
Scarlett Bowmen – Girl next door?, girlfriend?, lover?, Wife? Age 18
Characteristics – 5’3, Shoulder length Brown hair, green eyes, 125 pounds, 32DD. An almost natural asymmetry. Angular jawline, somewhat prominent chin and cheek bones. Supple full lips. Thin eyebrows. Down to earth personality, caring, outgoing, energetic, loving, aggressive, feisty.
Abilities – Fire, Wind, Earth, Light. Tested positive for Heavens Magic (able to call forth a Hurricane, Asteroid, Heaven’s Light (beam energy) possibly other types such as these with training and practice)
Before the change she adored how smart Jacob is and how his mind works. Loves how he dotes on her and treats her with respect and love at his utmost. Had somewhat similar interests mainly in tv shows and sports and videogames(only a little). Intended to marry him.
After the change, her personality is the same for the most part, but now has great interest with magic like many. Doesn’t know Jacob in the new timeline, only see each other in their high school. But never had meaningful conversations like they once did in the original timeline. In the new timeline she doesn’t live next door or near him for that matter, which plays a big part in why they don’t know each other. The other reason is because Jacob before the change in abilities, he has the lowest possible powers so he was often ridiculed at school. And she does not want to involve herself in those kinds of problems because it could cause problems for her family.
She knows of him in school and appreciates the fact that his magic ability isn’t that good but his mind is above others that he is able to persevere. But with her standing as one of the top Magic Students in school she has little time to engage in most social activities other than those close to her.
Mike Collins – Age 19, Best Friend
Characteristics – 5”10, Short cut Brown hair, brown eyes. Low brow, Angular jaw. Good looking. Outgoing and playful personality. Caring and considerate. Likes to play jokes on just about everyone. Thinks of Jacob like a brother. Protects Jacob from those that try to torment him. Jacob saved his life one time when he fell down a hole in the ground that was filled with wood with nails in them. He wasn’t hurt too bad but Jacob was able to get a hose that was inside the hole to use as a rope and pulled Mike out. From then on he has looked out for Jacob but so has Jacob looked out for him. (this has happened in both realities) He is a year ahead of Jacob in University Already. His mother and father both work for Jacobs father. Which is how Jacob and Mike met.
Abilities – Fire and Wind magic. Tested positive to be able to call forth a Advanced Fire Tornado, Rain of Fire (his best attacks)
Zack Webber – Age 18, Friend
Characteristics – 6” Wavy short Blonde Hair, Green eyes. Above average face, square jaw. Likes almost the same things Jacob does, which is why they get along so well, but seems to have a way with the ladies, and as such he is a player. Never would have guessed. This has gotten him in trouble on several occasions but Jacob as usual was there to help him out. His family are well known as healers like Jacobs mother which is how the two friends were introduced similar to how Mike and his family met Jacob. This is a new friend in this timeline.
Abilities – Water and Light magic like his parents. Tested positive for Epic Healing Magic (holder of the ability Lay on Hands which has the ability to resurrect people that have been dead for 5 mins.
George Bonnet – Age 18, Nemesis
Characteristics – Blonde Spikey Hair, Hazel eyes. The Pretty Boy everyone loves to hate. Strong jaw line, sharp eyes and slightly prominent chin and cheekbones.
Abilities – Earth, Wind, Fire magic. Tested positive for Gravity Magic (Gravity magic being a rare magic to possess, but being advanced magic he does not have access to it during reg school life)
Ever since middle school this kid has always thought of himself as better than everyone else but for some reason has always had it out for Jacob (of course).
This is mainly because his Father is the owner of the largest Originator Company in the country (Foundations) . And with Jacobs father slowly gaining a foothold in the Originator business since Jacob was in middle school. George’s father has come to see Jacob’s as a threat. George has taken it upon himself and told by his father to make Jacob’s life as miserable as possible. Which with his low magic power wasn’t hard to do. He would always either drench, burn, knock over both by wind and physically. He did this mainly to get Jacob to fight him allowing his father to sue and discredit Jacobs father. Jacob figured this out early and with the help of friends has managed to keep his cool and composure.
Of course George also has asshole friends that like to help him out as well, this of course just adds to the times Jacob found himself surrounded and force to take beatings whenever they could find him alone, which wasn’t that often.
Example of such a time; Last days of school before graduation, George and his boys caught Jacob alone in the gym at school during one of his workouts. During a bench press, George and his boys snuck up on Jacob using their combined basic fire magic and heated up the bar causing Jacob to lose his grip and causing the bar to rest on his chest.
Not being able to breathe, Jacob tried his best to get the bar off him, after almost 32 secs of trying Zack found him just in time before he passed out and helped him place the bar back on the rack. All the while George and his boys are laughing their asses off. Jacob seeing this almost lost his cool and almost tore George a new one but before he could get a hit in Zack stopped him.
George saying some snide remark about being a coward as per usual, Jacob and Zack walk to the lockers. Now you would think telling the teachers and faculty about the behavior and acts of George would be something to do but when told the first several times not much was done because George’s father of course was a big “Money Pit” for the school, so that just proved to Jacob he’d just have to deal with it and persevere.
When they had asked him, he told them he needed to get stronger so he could be the top student at academy. His parents thought it was impossible with the magic he could do. They didn’t say it to him outright, but they're worried. They tried to tell him they couldn’t afford to pay for the advanced classes he’d have to attend, to be the top student as an excuse. But Jacob explained to them certain technologies he had in mind that he wanted to develop to help his family with the money required for such an endeavor. Showing them the schematics, models, and formulas on his computer and explaining what they were. His parents flabbergasted, wondering what happened to their son, he's never shown this kind of ambition before or this level of confidence.
After Jacob explained to his father that with the family and his company’s backing, he could create and develop the technology within 6 months and place the patents with the company. As he explained in more and more detail of the plan, his father felt proud and honored that his son was thinking of his family’s future to such a degree, and how smart his son is coming up with an idea so amazing and world changing. So his father agreed to help him anyway he can.
"I can't believe the idea you’ve done here Jake. What you have come up with will change the world in so many ways." he says while patting his son's shoulder
"Thanks dad I appreciate the faith and support you’ve given me, it's gotten me through so much." he says with a happy smile
"Well why wouldn't I? I've always known you to be a smart kid, smarter than most. I couldn't be more proud of you, I love you son," he says as he pulls him into a bear hug
Jacob hit with a wave of multiple emotions returning the hug while thinking, 'This feels just like when I went back in time after I delivered my brother, the same hug and all.'
And so in the 6 month timeframe using his knowledge, Jacob has developed several technologies. And with the help of his father’s business, Jacob has brought his family’s standing in the community to new heights.
First Jacob developed new metals and composites. They are the ones he used on his time machine. But this time he involved mana during their creation, and in such a way no one thought possible, thus creating something new even for him. The royalties he got from the patents for these was mind boggling. The metals and composites revolutionized the current technology allowing more uses of such.
Jacob then invented a teleportation device which merged both magic and technology. This device can transport anyone, anywhere in a matter of seconds. You just stand on the pad put in the coordinates and viola you’re there. This also included a return device that strapped to your waist. The devices use a satellite system Jacob had invented and positioned around the planet. The funny thing is Jacob used the prototype transporter to send up the satellites so he wouldn’t have to waste time on modern rockets. For what they’re worth, which on this Earth isn’t much.
Everything tested time and time again to care of any flaws. Getting patents was the easy part getting approval from the government to place satellites in orbit wasn’t. It took a lot of convincing and show and tell to get them on board. He could have done it in secret but he wanted the full cooperation from the government and to make sure there were no surprises which could have jeopardized everything.
He had also invented microscopic machines or “Nanobots”. These had been in development during his past life. By using those as a template he made modified versions of them and infused them with mana increasing their efficiency and uses. He injected himself with them as soon as testing had been completed. They increased his bodies capabilities in the physical, magical and technological. With the nano-bots he could go harder and longer during his workouts. He could also recover and heal faster, and can use them as a focus for his magic which increased his magic power. The nano-bots had also embedded themselves into his brain increasing his brain functions overall. This also gave him a unique ability to control technology with his thoughts. These technological marvels gave him an advantage in his training more so than anything else. He would not share these with anyone. The damage they could do in the wrong hands would be disastrous.
With the royalties from the metals and composites, the teleportation device and satellite system, his family was becoming one of the richest families on the eastside. He had accomplished all this in the 6 months because well before his trip through time, Jacob already had plans in his head for both the transporter, satellites and nano-bots. But with the help of mana and magic he increased his proficiency in their development by leaps and bounds.

‘Still so many question marks even after all the improvements to the device. Think it has something to do with my mana well. It seems my body may have absorbed the core itself and uses it as a mana well. This must be what gives me my Time and Space affinity and spells. But what happened to the machine? Was it lost within the tunnel?
In the last 2 weeks before academy, Jacob had tested each of his spells to see the effect and determined what each are capable of and how long they last.
The basic spells speak for themselves. He could produce Fireballs, Water Balls, Stone Bullet, Wind Slice with ease, skill and with great effect to name a few of the basic spells.
Gravity Field creates a 20m field that increase the gravity based on the amount of power given to the spell. Thus the gravity coefficient can be adjusted.
Void Space allows him to create a pocket of space which allows him to store anything he wants. With his power level the space is vast.
Slow time lasts 5 seconds, but that's more than enough time to gain an edge.
Distort Space distorts a 10 m area around the target causing the target to become nauseous and hallucinate. It lasts 9 seconds.
Cut and Sever separates the targeted space or object on the atomic level.
Reverse Time can, ‘reverse time’ up to 10 minutes. This ability can reverse death of an individual or repair an object that had been destroyed within the given 12 minute mark.
Past and Future Touch gives him the ability to see the past and future of anything he touches.
With Teleport he can travel anywhere in the world where he’s been before.
‘Well teleport is redundant with the technology I’ve produced. The limitations on my abilities are a setback. Also seems if I use my time and space abilities too much concurrently my body starts to break down at the molecular level. Yeah this could definitely kill me, have to be careful. Maybe with time and training I can do more with these abilities.’
