"So why would you like to work here Mr. Philip?" The interviewer asked the young man. The young man twiddled his thumbs in his lap. he was nervous as eighteen hundred other men had applied for this internship, but he had seen only sixteen in the waiting room. The young man collected his thoughts and spoke. "I'm not a scientist nor do I have any sufficient Knowledge in physics, but I would like to be part of a new generation of staff that can help the world, not just the United States. I would like to study and interact with the other members here and help create a new future," the young man replied. The interviewer leaned back in his chair and stared at the applicant. "Thank you for showing up today, we will have a lot to take in and think about," the interviewer said. He got up and opened the door for the young man.

"We'll call you and keep in touch." The young man stepped out of the room and walked past the other applicants and out the door. He looked back at the tall building, its glass walls providing an insight into what goes on within its secrecy. He then reads the lettering up on the front of the building. It reads out Limbo Inc. He sighed and walked away, not knowing if he had got the job or not.

 The man begins to walk away to the parking lot when his phone rings. "Hey Thomas did you get the job?" A lady on the other line shouts. You could hear the excitement in her tone. "I don't know, I just finished the interview and I'm heading home now," he says getting into his car.

"I hope you get it, I know how hard you've worked in college and how many nights you've been up late studying. You deserve this and I think this company would be the right place for you," the woman said. "I hope so. I can't keep delivering pizza," Thomas jokes. The girl laughs, "Could you actually bring some home tonight, I don't feel like cooking." "Sure, I'll be home soon, Love you." "Love you too." The line hangs up.

The young man looks back at the building one more time.  He starts his car and begins the drive home. The sun had already begun to set as Thomas pulled up to his apartment building. He takes the pizza out of the passenger seat and heads inside. He opened the door to his apartment and his girlfriend, Sofia, was already waiting on the couch. "The package has been delivered!" he shouts as he tosses the box onto the counter. "Perfect, let's dig in. I'm starving," she replies. She walks over to the kitchen and begins opening the box. Thomas looks over her shoulder and asks. "How was your day? Anything special happened?"

"Nothing, really. Just a long day of packing and shipping out orders." "Yeah, how much more ink do we need for the 3D printer?"

"We have a whole shelf of it," Sofia laughs. "You worry too much about us running out of supplies." "How much money did we make this week? Sofia pauses almost reluctant to answer. "How much?" Thomas repeats himself. "About six thousand," she answers. "And how much was the order this week?" he asks again. "Five hundred." "So we only made a thousand dollars. What about all the other weeks? We've only made ten thousand since we started selling. We barely have enough money to pay for rent, food, and the printer." Thomas looks at his fiancee who now looks ashamed. "I love you and the art that you put out, but it's getting difficult with groceries and rent and the car payment. This business is very niche and difficult, but I'll support you in every which way that I can." Thomas hugs her and holds her tight. "I'll support you too, I know how much you want to work for Limbo, you'll get the job. Once you get the job we'll be able to do everything we wanted to do." She holds him tight as well.

Thomas pulls back from her embrace and stares into her eyes. "I'll do whatever it takes to provide for you, even if that means not going to Limbo," he tells her.

"I know, I believe in you," she tells him. The two take their pizzas and move towards the couch in their living room. They turn on the TV and begin to eat their pizza. "Should we watch a movie tonight? Something funny or just sit and relax?" Sofia asks. "Whatever you want, sweetheart," Thomas responds. "Let's just talk and enjoy each other's company. Let's make the most of it while we can. We’ve been so busy  lately that we haven't had time to just be with each other," Sofia says. She moves over to Thomas and rests her head on his shoulder. He places his arm around her and leans into her as well. 

Suddenly, Thomas’s phone buzzes in his pocket. He reaches for it and looks at the caller ID. It's an unknown number.

"Might be one of those Indian scammers." Sofia jokes.

"I think I know who this is." He says as he picks up the phone.

"Hello," he answers.

"Good evening." a voice replies.

"How can I help you?"

"Thomas, we spoke earlier today. This is the hiring manager from Limbo. I would like to inform you that we would like to offer you a position as a technician and researcher at Limbo. The pay will be 45,000 dollars a year and the position would start immediately."

Thomas is speechless. Sofia notices his shock and asks. "What is it? Who is it?" Thomas ignores her and replies. "When should I start?"

"Come in tomorrow."

"Alright, see you tomorrow."

"Good night, Mr. Philip."

The line ends.

Sofia looks at him with confusion.

"Who was that? What did they want? Did you get the internship?"

Thomas smiles.

"I got the internship."

"Oh my God! That's great! I'm so proud of you!"

Thomas smiles as she jumps into his arms.

"This is great, we can finally save up and have a family. We can finally move out of this cramped apartment and buy a house.”

“Not exactly. The offered pay is $45,000 a year. I’ll be making the same as a teacher.” “Don't worry about it, it’s a start. Soon enough you wont be an intern and you’ll make enough money to get us out of here,” Sofia gestures to their small apartment.

Thomas smiles. “Thank you for supporting me and believing in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. I love you.”

She smiles back.

"I love you too. Now, let's finish this pizza and get to bed. We have a big day tomorrow."

They both look at each other with excitement and passion.
