Chapter 17: Worst Nightmare

Chapter 17: Worst Nightmare

When Tifara entered Mrs. Kaine's class, she and her friends waved their goodbyes to each other and walked towards her assigned seat. She saw David draw a picture on his desk while she walked forward. But she curiously stared at the drawing.

Hmm, I wonder what David's drawin' all the sudden, she thought as she sat in her assigned seat. David turned his attention to Tifara and silently growled at her for a moment. Yet Tifara avoided giving him eye contact when she sat in her seat, turning her head to the wall on the right.

"Hmph," David said as he returned his attention to his drawing and continued drawing it.

Then Tifara turned to David and slowly leaned forward closely. There she saw a drawing of a woman in her late twrnties with big tits and wider hips as well as she wore a black bikini with skulls all over it. David's cheeks blushed when he smiled at it, while Tifara gave the drawing her blank stare, slowly leaning back to her position.

Tifara just stood there with her eyes widened without even blinking them for a few seconds, remembering what Sam told her and her friends at the library earlier today. Wow, Sam wasn't jokin' when he said David's into lewd women, Tifara thought, moving her eyes left without even looking at David.

She moved them back forward. As soon as David completed his drawing, he placed it in his binders and curiously turned to Tifara. He raised his eyebrow and gazed at her for a bit. "Um, Tifara? Are you okay?"

Tifara didn't answer and still stared forward, so he leaned forward and waved his hand sideways in front of her.

"Um, hello?!" David impatiently said with his annoyed look on his face. "Is anybody there?!"

Tifara blinked her eyes a couple times and curiously turned to David. "Huh? What's up? Is everythin' alright?"

"Uh, yea…" David responded while still glaring at her. "I jus' wanna make sure you're okay and all, 'cause you've been standin' there not doin' a thing for a while now."

"Oh, um, I'm fine, thanks," Tifara said as she glared at David back. "And I thought you don't wanna talk to me, so what's with that all the sudden?"

David quickly put his head down and growled at Tifara for a moment, before he turned to the wall on the left far away from him and crossed his arms with his eyes closed. "Hey, don't get any ideas, sexual harassment girl! I was tryin' to make sure you're okay and shit, that's all!"

"David, watch your Language, sir," Mrs. Kaine demanded in her serious tone, while Tifara growled at him back with her head down, and her shadow covering her eyes and forehead after David called her "sexual harassment girl."

The majority of the students chuckled at and gossipped about David, when David widened his twitchy eyes and put his hands out forward with his reddened cheeks for a while. "Nuh!" Then David closed his eyes and scratched the back of his head, realizing that he cursed in class. "Oh, sorry, 'bout that, Mrs. Kaine. That was my fault I said that out loud. I didn't mean for that to happen. Honest."

"Uh-huh, sure..." Mrs. Kaine shook her head with her eyes closed and her arms crossed. "And the next time you curse in my class and you'll get an office referral, is that understood?"

"Y-Yes, ma'am," David answered when he only opened one of his eyes, put his head down a little and frowned at the teacher out of embarrassment.

"Good," Mrs. Kaine said as she angrily turned to Tifara. "And you aren't supposed to bother him at all, Tifara!"

Tifara widened. "B-But I didn't talk to him though. David talked to me first."

Mrs. Kaine nearly closed her eyes out of suspension. "I don't want to hear it, young lady. You will get an office referral if you continue to argue with me. Do you understand me?!"

Tifara frowned at Mrs. Kaine while the rest of the class also performed the same actions as they did to David, and David just glared at her, nearly closing his eyes as well. Then she turned her head left and put it down with her continuous sad face. "Yes…ma'am…"

Mrs. Kaine became relieved when she heard Tifara's response before the final bell rang. "Good." She turned to her students before she turned to her computer. "Alright, class. Quiet down. I'm going to take a roll call now, so please keep your voices down."

The students lowered their voices while Mrs. Kaine called out every student's name from her computer. Tifara laid her head down and gazed at David for a moment, while he no longer paid any attention to her. She quietly growled and glared at him, then she frowned all the sudden.

Huuuh…I wish David would get to know me. I really wanna be his friend, and I wanna get to know about him more, Tifara thought while she still stared at him. Then she looked up at the ceiling and whispered, "Dear Lord. Please help David overcome his loneliness through me and my friends. We really wanna help him out. In Yeshua's name, Amen."

After Mrs. Kaine finished her roll call, she showed them the video for the students including Tifara and David to take some notes on.

Once the school bell rang and Tifara left school with her friends, Tifara quietly growled when certain students behaved the same way as before, making her tighten her grip onto her necklace. Sam and Dalila angrily shouted at those rude students while May turned to Tifara and patted on her shoulder.

She leaned forward and whispered, "Hey, don't let them bother you. Keep depending on the Lord, and you'll win in the end."

Tifara turned to May and grinned. "Thanks, May. I will."

"Mhn." May shook her head with her eyes closed. "You're welcome, Tifara."

She lifted her head up and paid attention to her destination. Dear Lord, please give me strength, she thought, I literally can't do this without ya. In Yeshua's name, Amen.

While she moved her eyes sideways, she gasped and stopped walking with her friends. No way! She thought out of shock, this can't be real. There she saw Calpurnia walking with Saul.

May immediately turned to Tifara. "Um, Tifara? Are you okay?"

Once Sam and Dalila heard that, they quickly turned to Tifara with their curious, shocked faces. They called Tifara's name, yet Tifara neither heard them nor May's voices. May called her name again, this time tapping her finger on her shoulder.

Tifara still didn't respond, so May growled and glared at her as well as waving her hand at her, calling her best friend's name. Tifara blinked her eyes and turned to May. "Huh?"

"We all have been calling your name three times now, " May said.

"Oh, sorry…" Tifara said with her guilty face. "It's just that I didn't hear y'all. That's all."

Her friends gave her their forgiving grin. "It's alright, Tifara."

"Now are you okay? What's wrong? You've been standin' there for the past few moments now," Dalila said.

"Yea, I'm fine. I was jus' thinkin' of somethin' in my mind," Tifara answered. "Now let's keep goin'. We gotta go help Dalila recover from her heart attack now."

"Right!" Her friends agreed as they walked to Dalila's house together. While they did that, Tifara no longer saw Calpurnia and Saul walking together. Tifara expressed her worried look on her face.

Oh, man! This is really, really bad! I hope Saul doesn't go out with Calpurnia, 'cause that'll be devastating if he does, Tifara thought out of panic as she looked everywhere but couldn't find them anywhere.

However, she grinned at one good thing about her situation. At least May didn't see Calpurnia walkin' with Saul. If she did, not only I would have to compete with her too over Saul, especially with the part about her sayin' "my Saul" crap. That shit would make me puke. Ugh!

After Tifara exited May's home, she rushed her way to the end of the street, to meet Saul there. Okay, I hope Saul's there, not Calpurnia with him. It would be devastating if that's the case, she thought while running forward. Once she made it there, she didn't see Saul there.

She stopped movin' and scanned her surroundings, raising her fist in front of her chest. She widened her twitchy eyes. Oh, man! Saul's not here! I mean, where is he?! He seriously can't be with Calpurnia, can he?! I guess I'll have to wait here for him. Maybe he's runnin' behind on some things that made him late. I'm sure he isn't with Calpurnia anyhow.

After she waited fifteen minutes for Saul, she sighed and frowned, getting ready to exit the suburbs without him. Oh, man. I can't believe Saul isn't here after all this time. Maybe he was with Calpurnia after all.

Once she walked her steps out of the suburbs, she headed for the city alone for the first time in her school life. She couldn't believe it in her own eyes that she left all alone, without Saul on her side.
