Chapter 0001: Is the Little Chick Sick?

Chapter 0001: Is the Little Chick Sick?

“Firstly, let us introduce the usage of names in Chinese. For example: NingQingxue, Ning is the surname (usually 1-2 characters long with 2 characters being less common), and Qingxue is the given name (usually 1-2 characters long). The literal translation of NingQingxue would be ‘Ning light snow’, but typically translations of names are simply written using their pinyin spelling – hence it is translated as NingQingxue.

Acquaintances usually address someone by their given name, Qingxue. Parents or very close friends may use other variations such as Qingxue, Xiaoxue (little xue), XiaoNing (little Ning) and so on.

If you are an older person, people may refer to you affectionately or respectfully as Old+surname.

This is just one way that names are used in Chinese culture. In the following story, there will be thousands of characters. I will try my best to use a unified title/address. I hope their names won’t confuse you.”

Let’s start the journey…

“Ye Mo, Ye Mo, are you okay? Hurry up and get up. We have class soon and it’s with the merciless Ice. You need to hurry up.” A somewhat anxious voice rang in Ye Mo’s ear, giving him a strange feeling.

“This idiot probably doesn’t want to show his face so he covers it up,” another voice sounded in his ear, but this time Ye Mo woke up.

He looked around dazedly and didn’t recognize anyone; they were all strangers’ faces.

Seeing Ye Mo’s bewildered expression, there was another burst of laughter. Obviously, the laughter here was directed at him. Seeing the people around him laughing seemed like they were mocking him. For a moment he didn’t dare ask anything out loud and could only be on guard against someone attacking him.

Looking at the classmate sitting next to him who wasn’t laughing at him but had just kindly woken him up earlier made Ye Mo feel relieved.

“Where am I? Who are you? Why does this look like a school?” asked Ye Mo subconsciously in surprise.

“Haha…” Another burst of laughter erupted from everyone else again.

“Ye Mo, looks like you’re confused. Can Yan also write love letters casually? It might be fine when you were still part of the Ye family, but now that you’re not anymore be careful. The next class is with English teacher Yun Bing; don’t let her catch you,” whispered his desk mate cautiously into his ear where only he could hear it – obviously showing concern for what may happen to Ye Mo if caught by their strict teacher.

“I really don’t remember much; my head hurts badly right now and I’ve forgotten many things,” said an annoyed looking Ye mo helplessly as he tried to recall more information about himself or where he was currently situated.

His desk mate sighed because there is no way Ye Mo would forget everything so quickly, he was just trying to save face. He still hadn’t come to grips with the reality that he wasn’t the same Ye Mo from the Ye family anymore.

Ye Mo’s head began pounding again as he remembered himself and his master Luo Ying refining a Huanyuan Dan (revitalizing pill). Later on, a group of West Stream Sect people had attacked them. Then there were explosions and sounds of fighting everywhere. He remembered his master holding him while using an escape talisman but how did he end up here? Was this still Luoyue Continent?

Yes, right now he is sitting here; where is his master? His master was only three years older than him and more importantly it was because of Luo Ying’s beauty that West Stream Sect’s young lord wanted to marry her – when she refused they started attacking them.

If Luo Ying fell into their hands then the consequences would be unimaginable. Thinking about this made Ye Mo panic internally once again, causing him to stand up suddenly.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you know class has already started?” A cold-faced woman carrying several books walked onto the platform and swept a glance at all the students who had been laughing earlier – their laughter immediately died down upon seeing her arrival. Everyone knew she was Yun Bing, an English teacher who hated student disruptions in class; if caught by her there will definitely be punishment.

Ye Mo felt like something wasn’t quite right anymore; although he could understand what everyone else said clearly enough, it wasn’t in his original language… Is this not Luoyue Continent anymore?

Frowning deeply as wave after wave of headache hit him hard along with many jumbled memories coming back slowly…

Ye Mo: third generation descendant of the Ye family. Father Ye Wentian passed away two years ago while mother never left much impression on him anyway before being completely kicked out by his own family after being determined as not being Ye Wentian’s biological son.

More specifically, after Ye Wentian died they reexamined his bloodline and found that he was not a true member of the Ye family. That is why he was expelled from the family.

Stolen novel; please report.

However, he still has a sister named Yeling and a brother named Yifeng who are both half-siblings with different mothers but shared the same father. Three years ago, it seemed like their father knew that he owed something to Ye Mo so he proposed a marriage alliance between him and Ning Family in Beijing; this was probably because Ye Wentian knew that his health wasn’t good so wanted to find someone to support Ye Mo – thus finding the Ning family.

The Ning family was extremely willing to form an alliance with one of the top five families in Huaxia, the Ye family. They agreed to give Ning Qingxue, granddaughter of Mr. Ning, to Ye Mo. Three years later, at only 22 years old, Ning Qingxue had become the most beautiful woman in Beijing.

However, Ye Mo became a disaster for the Ye family due to a simple reason. During a medical examination at the hospital, it was discovered that he had congenital impotence and could not have children. Although the Ye family tried their best to conceal this fact, overnight it seemed like everyone in Beijing knew that one of Huaxia’s top five families had produced someone with congenital impotence – they were humiliated.

“Ahh…” Memories flooded back and Ye Mo screamed as he stood up and almost immediately took off his pants to check himself out. He now understood that he may have been reborn into another person named Ye Mo but what use was it if he couldn’t even reproduce? It would be better if they killed him instead.

“Hey…what’s your name? What do you go by during class? Come visit my office after class.” The English teacher who was giving her lecture was interrupted by Ye Mo’s scream and her face turned sour.

The other students in class secretly laughed; no one else but this English teacher could send a university student straight away from class without studying or completing any coursework – but there wasn’t much choice since credits were dependent on attendance anyway.

Ye Mo sat down dejectedly. Although he didn’t quite understand all about internal struggles within clans/families (i.e., clan politics), he did know that being kicked out of his own clan might have been because of his congenital impotence rather than just because he wasn’t part of their clan anymore; furthermore who knows what sort of tampering occurred during DNA testing?

What Ye Mo was worried about wasn’t being kicked out of the Ye family; he didn’t care about that at all. He was concerned about his congenital impotence and whether his master, Luo Ying, was okay.

However, he also understood why the other students were laughing – it was because this body’s previous owner had already been kicked out of the Ye family but still refused to change his ways and continued pursuing Yan Yan, one of the most beautiful girls in class. In response to his love letter, she pasted it on the blackboard and then stood on stage mocking him by saying: “Young Master Ye, can you sleep with me?”

So that’s what happened – no wonder everyone laughed so loudly! Who wouldn’t slap someone who tried to have sex despite their congenital impotence? Although that person is no longer himself (i.e., not him), Ye Mo’s face darkened.

He glanced at Yan Yan again. She really did have an extraordinary figure but her pretentious appearance made him quite repulsed; he couldn’t understand why this body’s previous owner wanted to pursue her.

But soon after, Ye Mo figured out why – when he was still part of the Ye family before getting kicked out due to his condition being exposed publicly; everyone flattered him including Yan Yan herself. When news of his congenital impotence came out though, he felt ashamed and just wanted a girlfriend for show but never expected a girl who used to be nice towards him would treat him like this instead which led to fainting from embarrassment…and hence cheaply leading into this rebirth opportunity.

“He actually reincarnated into such a place.

He couldn’t understand a single word from the beautiful teacher’s lecture on the podium. Even if he could, Ye Mo wouldn’t listen because he absolutely couldn’t accept his congenital impotence now. It would have been better not to be reborn at all than to end up like this.

After organizing his memories, Ye Mo’s face became gloomy. Regardless of whether it was congenital impotence or not, it seemed that the spiritual energy here was too thin and it wasn’t a place for cultivation at all. Did he really have to die in this place called Earth for no reason?

Whether or not he went to university didn’t matter anymore; what mattered most was understanding his current situation. His congenital impotence affected the reputation of the Ye family, and although they had expelled him from the family, who knew if someone might suddenly come after him? Perhaps there were other hidden reasons behind being kicked out of the family; did he still have any security now?

After class ended, Ye Mo’s first priority was not going to see the beautiful teacher but rather rushing out of school to find a place to check himself down there and see if he truly had congenital impotence.

Fortunately, there weren’t many things around Ninghai University except for small alleys. Ye Mo rushed into one secluded alley with nobody else around and quickly pulled down his pants.

His penis was indeed very small; however, Ye Mo wasn’t completely disappointed due its size but rather breathed a sigh of relief instead as he realized that it wasn’t due to congenital impotence caused by an underdeveloped penis blocked by meridians. Before cultivating in Luo Yue Mainland (a different world), he used to be an expert in Chinese medicine so upon inspection immediately understood what happened.

However even though this is true with today’s technology on earth trying fix this blockage would simply be a pipe dream. But this didn’t discourage Ye Mo, although he didn’t have the ability to open up the blocked meridians and make his penis erect due to Earth’s thin spiritual energy, once he reached level three Qi cultivation stage, it would automatically break through.

However, Ye Mo immediately began to feel disappointed again because in such a low-spiritual-energy environment on Earth, cultivating to level three of Qi was undoubtedly an arduous task that maybe he could never achieve in his lifetime. In that case, he was still equivalent to having congenital impotence.

He sighed and was about to pull up his pants when suddenly a scream made him jump.

“Pervert!” It was definitely a high-pitched female voice that rang out before him. Ye Mo had been so focused on checking himself down there earlier that he forgot to check his surroundings. He didn’t expect this small alleyway connected somewhere else; it just wasn’t visible from here due the turn ahead.

Ye Mo wasn’t an exhibitionist nor did he have any capital for revealing himself at present; thus quickly pulled up his pants and tried slipping away.

“Ye Mo? Why is it you?” After the woman screamed, she asked with surprise since she recognized Ye Mo.”
