So, after missing the first deadline of the writathon, the chapters literally slowed to a stop. And this generally foreshadows the complete stop of a story on this website. So I'm making this non-chapter as a way to tell you that this is still very much ongoing.
The reason I stopped posting is surprisingly not because I lost motivation when I couldn't make the deadline. I actually almost did but Rydenius comment on the last posted chapter motivated me. It was simple advice really, but sometimes you need someone to tell you even the simplest things.
So, the reason I stopped posting was a health problem (not the one you probably thought of given the current state of the world)! I find it funny because while I was naught but a reader, I always thought that writers had a surprisingly high ratio of health problems. Whether it is coincidental, a consequence of being a writer, or just a predisposition of people with health problems, I don't know, but this feels like karma for sometimes thinking that these people were making excuses.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Still, this doesn't account for the totality of the time not posting and the rest is because I needed to keep up with irl deadlines that became much more pressing because of the time I was out of commission. Catching up on these deadlines further delayed the ones that followed and this lead to me always feeling too tired to even post an explanation and preferring to simply relax and do something else.
Anyways, If I'm posting this now, it's because I'm done with most of it, I still have some things to do but I can spare the time and the brainpower to write this explanation. I won't start posting right away. I will start writing again during the following weeks but I'll probably only start posting again at the beginning of the next year so that I can fully enjoy the time I have now that I'm done with mostly everything.
I hope that you will still be there to enjoy this story as I write it because it is also very enjoyable to write and to know people are reading it.
Also, I'll probably delete this once I start posting again because I like seeing the chapter number aligned with the page (maybe move it to a spoiler in the next author's note).
