Part I
THE BLOODY CITY
She did not bare to open the iron metal gates of Thorn Arena. In fact, she didn't even want to fight. She didn't wish to fight. She was too weak to fight. Her strength was lost. The girl's shoulders shivered as she felt tears sting to her eyes. "I don't want to fight now. Not like this," she whispered while sobbing, quietly.
Her face went red. As soon as the gates opened, little Beatrice was standing in front of a huge arena, her opponent on the opposite side of her. The crowd was cheering at her. Beatrice didn't dare fight her opponent. She didn't want to murder anyone anymore. She didn't feel like the brave and great assassin she was. In fact, she wanted to commit suicide now. Her nerves were now getting more sickening than ever.
"Good morning to everyone here gathered in the arena. In this round, we will have Beatrice and Max fighting each other with all their might. Whoever wins will become titled the king or queen of Thorn Arena, depending on whichever gender wins. Let battle commence in 3... 2... 1! FIGHT!"

As Max started to lunge at Beatrice, she didn't move at all. Instead, Beatrice stood there, looking scared and afraid. She couldn't fight at all. She started to lunge at Max, slowly but when she saw the startled look on his face, Beatrice stopped. She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry," she whispered as she immediately let go of the sword in her hand and the sword dropped to the floor.
As soon as Beatrice was about to run away, she realised that a hand had caught her arm. Beatrice looked behind her, only to find out that the host had grabbed her hand.
"BEATRICE LAVENDER!!! YOU HAVE BEEN DISQUALIFIED FROM THE CONTEST FOR QUITTING!!! PLEASE COME AND SEE ME AT THE COURTROOM AT FIVE!!! I WILL NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU, MISS."
As soon as she watched the host walk away and hearing the audience go boo, Beatrice immediately knew that she had failed to become the best assassin in the world.
