It surprised me a little but I managed to hold back my reaction from being found out. My surroundings have no other creature than the goblins sighted. I took action quickly and launched an attack.

⌜ Ice Bullet !⌟

Small ice fragment shoots itself toward the green little creature. It deals some damage but apparently it wasn’t fatal. The goblin screamed in agony and rushed toward me. I panicked and accidentally used fire magic and the goblin’s head got incinerated. “I must’ve used too much mana in that one.” I thought to myself.

Surprisingly, the goblin’s corpse doesn’t disappear after being killed. Maybe there is a timer before it disappears … I didn’t put too much thought into it because after muttering to myself, I heard some footsteps in the distance in the woods closing in.

I went and hid in bushes a bit further from the corpse. That’s when I saw another little green creature. Not to make it worse, this time there are three of them. The gobs then stared the corpse and looked around before shouting with each other. Before they left, they picked the dead goblin’s mace and left. I thought of attacking them but didn’t because it's too risky and it’s dark. Human’s eye isn’t created to be used in a dark environment.

However, I decided to tail them from a safe distance thinking maybe I could find their nest. Luckily, I did. Their nest is in a cave and there were four goblins standing outside guarding the entrance. Then, an idea sparked within my head.

⌜ I think i could get a ton of exp with this… It’s a bit of a mess but sure it’ll work⌟

I grinned by myself like an idiot.

I went back to the lake to prepare and get plenty of rest so my mana could regenerate.

I picked plenty of good sized rock and practised throwing with it. With it, I could save my mana and not use too many spells and exhaust myself. I made a simple slingshot with some vine I also picked up and shot my shot. My aim was terrible. It took some time before i could actually hit my target albeit not very accurately but it was good enough. I practised plenty of times and got a new skill.

⌜ I am 200% ready !⌟

I waited for my chance to execute the plan and the chance presented itself. The guards weren’t watching the surrounding and screaming to each other.

⌜ Bullet Hail !⌟

I shot multiple bullet sized projectiles all at once targeting all four of them hitting them right in the heart. I managed to hit my target accurately. I waited for a bit to see if there might be any goblins coming out after noticing something happened. There wasn’t any so I continued with my plan.

I sealed off the entrance with a thick ice wall durable enough that you can’t break it bare handed. I made a small hole and released as much heat as I could and followed by a few fire spells. It was draining but I made it work. All that is left is to sit back while recovering my mana and see how it goes for the next maybe two to three hours.

It’s morning and I napped off not watching my surroundings at all. Thankfully I didn't get assaulted mid sleep. I glimpse over the sealed cave entrance, i could see goblins, a lot of them by the entrance smashing the ice to break out.

⌜ I’m glad i made the ice extra thick … ⌟

⌜ Now… I should finish them all off in one fell swoop for experience points⌟

Because it’s already daytime, I used fire magic instead of ice. With mana flowing free, I cast a huge simple fire spell but tuned up the heat to incinerate them while also undoing the ice wall. It became a huge explosion and it made loud ear-deafening sounds. It took some time before the smoke cleared up and then within the smoke I saw a light… and it’s getting closer…

It was a fireball launched toward me ! I panicked and covered myself with my hand instinctively because I didn't have time to cast a protective spell. The fireball got closer and closer and when it came right before my face, it dispersed into the air.

I was dumbfounded. How on earth that didn’t hit me ? But when I moved my hand from my face, I saw an almost transparent but translucent wall of light particles shielding me.

⌜ D..d..di..did i just used light magic !?!?!?⌟

I just wield light attributes… a light magic instinctively. However, I held my excitement because of a goblin holding a staff and regalia on its head. It was a goblin shaman.

First move decides the tide of battle. I made the first move and chanted my spell.

⌜ Luminous Pillar ! ⌟

Pillars of light appear from the ground striking upward thus killing the shaman.

I emerge victorious with my light magic.

“Bam !”

I fell on the ground exhausted. There weren’t any enemies nearby so I let down my guard.

⌜ I wonder why the first time i tried to use light magic it work … ⌟

⌜ Hmmmm…… ⌟

⌜ Oh !!! could it be because i try during nighttime ?⌟

I try to apply a light attribute again to my mana to prove my hypothesis but it doesn’t appear. I tried again with the ice attribute instead and it worked. Small fragment of ice forms on the palm of my hand. Hence, my hypothesis was proven wrong.
