The Greatest Cure

"I have found the greatest cure!"

A man of incredible pedigree spoke proudly for a team of the greatest academics in all the current records.

Resoundingly did the proper channels announce the achievement with splendor. An unerring success, assuredly, to be shared with the world.

Nothing could possibly rival the greatest cure. Such a sentiment echoed loudly, until the echo took on its own form.

The whisper of intellect, the enrapture of achievement, it could not be denied as such a great victory.

Still some fools insisted that there was error. It's easy to see how one may think that but if one just shifted the perspective it is perfectly aligned to expectations with no fault to the cure. Certainly, such a great cure could have no such flaw. Rather this mistake here, that review there in doubt, a criticism of the wording used, a questioning of pedigree & quality for those who made the study, clearly the err is with those who would associate with such fools. Thus, did the master of study prove beyond all doubt that questions were irrelevant. The doubting voices quieted, further so when to publish such would see one associated with the foolish & the lowly.

A spreading quiet of debate was found & the growth of an echo. This especially so in the academies, for education is about correction & the greatest cure is correct. Only the uneducated could doubt the greatest cure, so of course if you doubted you must be beneath. Those ailing must too be convinced they not only should but must take this even in good health. For their own good it is right to silence such doubt. There was no voice but that echoing applause of the achiever.

Though soon did a boy grow, young & foolish perhaps but all are fools at first. Efforts to understand became harsh & biting.

The effort to discredit the boy, while at first destroying the young man, soon became the undoing of the academy's reputation. It revealed a dishonorable & destructive tool in current use did see restructuring. So too with the processes of checking which had peers justifying their dismissals rather than observing why to dismiss. Of the great man of before, though, there was not much left but that echo of wit. Of his many students they did not hear or listen, they did not even understand why the cure was great, only that it was & to assail it was to assail reasoning & themselves as a learned people.

In spite of the boy's efforts that echo of wit would not be ceased. It assured & assuaged ever stronger with ever greater quantities of mud. That boy & all those who supported his ideas, they are not merely frauds & fools, not only too lowly & unlearned to understand what is best. They are evil, vile, to never be listened to. While such a thing did work for a time it only delayed the collapse of the rotten echo. Degraded were those students & the great man far more than it did the boy, until eventually the cure ceased all crafting & served as warning rather than aspiring aid. However, it had not vanquished that consuming echo. It remained still as the great man refused to relinquish his titles & achievements until at last only the echo remained. Perishing only to time.
