Upon entering the rift, the area had a very putrid smell, with such a bad smell Yami didn’t seem to care, and instead started to survey the area.

The area of the place was rotting as there were many rotting trees, which makes it seem that the trees emitted the smell, however, trees don’t smell when they rot. The sky is a gray-like mist, floating around the sky, I couldn't imagine if it were to cause a fog. There doesn’t seem to be any monsters that made it quite peaceful, however, there was no record of a peaceful rift.

Yami decided to venture deeper into the dimension to find a way out, as the way he came from didn’t present itself with a portal out

“Man, it smells, where is it coming from?” Yami thought to himself, as he started to walk into the thicket of rotting trees, “Are all rifts like this?”

Meanwhile, out of the rift

“This doesn’t seem right,” Mr.Callon said, as he decided to take a closer look at the rift

“What’s wrong?” Student A asked

“Huh? Oh nothing” Mr.Callon said as he stopped inspecting the rift and started to look at his clipboard, writing things down

“If I am correct, then the kid might be in danger,” Mr.Callon thought, “Might as well not cause a panic”

Back into the rift

As Yami continued deeper into the forest of rot, it seemed like the rotting smell started to get stronger as the number of trees started to diminish. Yami stopped until there were no more trees, just piles of rot, in which the smell went to its maximum threshold, the smell was so strong, it can cause someone to gag, which Yami was forced to use a spell of protection

“Protection, in case me *gag* in the air!” Yami said, as a circle then appeared on top of his head and slowly dropped to the ground, having the magic circle scan through his entire body from head to toe, in casing him in a thin layer of air all around his body, providing him with protection from the putrid air

The protection of air is a multi-purpose spell as well as one of the weakest and simplest spells to use, it in cases the caster with a temporary layer of air, creating with the person’s mana, which protects the user from chemicals and smells in the air. It can also be used for diving if the user puts more mana into the spell to prevent the water from entering the layer of air, however, this doesn't protect the user from any attacks. The more mana you pour into the stronger and/or longer the effect lasts. Think of it as a gas mask or a tank of air for scuba diving. Once you activate it, you can’t change it, only deactivate it.

After casting himself in the spell, he started to head deeper into the forest of rotting trees. Eventually, all the rotting trees weren’t visible anymore, in which Yami stopped moving. Once Yami stopped moving, a figure seemed to emerge from the ground in front of him. In which the smell got stronger all of a sudden, but Yami couldn’t smell it, of course. The smell was strong, that the smell could burn someone’s eyes as well as cause someone to pass out and vomit. This figure was several feet away from him.

The figure started to approach Yami, slowly, to which Yami reacted, by pulling out his knife and pistol, pointing his pistol at the figure, but the figure didn’t stop and continued moving. The figure movement was sluggish and had no distinct figure of an animal nor human and seems to be oozing out the blackish liquid from its body and surprisingly had no markings anywhere present on the body Since the monster didn’t stop moving, Yami had no choice but to plant holes into the figure.

Dispersing 3 shots in quick succession, one of the left leg, one of the right leg, and one square in the head, the figure stopped moving, but didn’t collapse, instead, after taking 3 shots, thick red liquid started to ooze out of the bullet holes in its body, which then incased the figure. The figure could be heard screaming...gurgling, what sounded like it should be screaming, as the red liquid started to consume it. The screaming came to a stop once the red liquid completely consumed its black side, solidifying itself and personifying itself as a human female, with several battle scars around its naked body having her pigmentation turn from red to pink.

“This changes the difficulty, of this monster,” Yami said, “Must be an A-rank monster”

The monster then started into a combat stance, prepared to fight Yami bare-handed. Yami was first to move, shooting 5 shots at the figure, but the figure seemed experienced in the disadvantage and impressively deflected 4 shots with its hands and caught the last bullet, which it quickly threw back at Yami.

The bullet which was speeding towards Yami’s head was blocked by Yami’s knife as he used the flat side of his knife to quickly block the knife. After blocking the bullet, Yami lowered the knife, to find out the figure was gone

Looking around his surroundings, to find the figure, she appeared behind him, trying to strike him in the nape, but Yami quickly dodged, causing the figure to nick his hair, and quickly turned around leaping back, as well as shooting it as he leaps back

“Damn, she is stronger than I thought,” Yami thought to himself

“Tsk, I don’t want to use this, but I have to,” Yami said, as he quickly drops the pistol’s magazine into this hands, and swapped it with red-tipped, white-banded bullets and started to aim at the figure and shot the first round

The figure unaware of what he did, deflected the bullet as she always did, however, the bullet was slower, which allowed her to easily grab it, but once she made contact with the bullet, it exploded and scorched her hand, the impact was so great, it staggered

Allowing Yami his chance to finish her, in which he did, at the moment the stagger stated Yami, started to aim for her chest, shooting his entire magazine of red-tipped, white-banded bullets. After the last shot was placed, the figure collapsed

“Tch, what a waste of these” Yami said, as he unloaded his empty magazine, “These were hard to get too…”

Yami then reloaded his gun with his original magazine and placed his empty magazine back into his pocket and started to approach the immobile figure

Surprisingly it was still alive, however, inside the figure, it seemed to show some peach coloring, in which Yami, quickly cracked and ripped open the pink substance and revealed a naked elven woman…

“What the…'' Yami said in surprise and quickly started to strip the women of the substance and carried her

“Why is a woman here?” he said as he started to look around for a portal, which there was and approached it and entered the portal out, in which he was greeted by the class, who was shocked in many ways
