It’s interesting, you know? From where I’m from, everything from the way we live our day to day to how we perceive time itself is vastly different from what the people do here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting their way of life down or anything, it’s just jarring.
I guess this is what’s called culture shock.
These people here live a life unaware of what is really out there in the universe. There are wonders out there. From star systems of distant galaxies with planets who’s days look like something from a fantasy land, to civilizations who have achieved far beyond what these lifeforms have accomplished.
Then there’s the bad.
The ruthless armies of overlords and dictators who’s only mission is to conquer.
I’ve been here for a few years now and the evidence of otherworldly life is evident yet this planet’s leaders cover it up at any cost.
Lying to its people.
Blackmailing those who witnessed it.
Even killing individuals who speak out about it.
Why?
Is this planet’s social fabric so fragile that telling these people the truth would destroy how they perceive everything?
Or is it a means of control?
Living unaware when threats loom out in the vast darkness of space is not the way I would want to live. Because one day they will come, and when they do, will these people be ready?
On my world, everything is fairly simple. Everyone has a purpose.
A calling.
We call it being Enlightened.
We commit to our society with a purpose and move forward everyday and that’s why my planet has survived as long as it did. I was the oddball though. I didn’t want to be a part of it. My ideal standard was basically a calm and relaxed one. Little did I know, that was the result of what I really was. I wasn’t just a boy living on some planet, going through the motions of everyday, cycle to cycle.

I was something else.
I didn’t know this until I touched the orb. Malira actually found it and when she handed it to me everything changed.
Two powerful warriors were freed.
They didn’t speak our language.
They didn’t have any memories.
But they knew what they had to do.
With their freedom came a darkness that threatened everything.
The three of us traveled the planet as we searched for the Overseer, our leader. The one who led us from one planet to another in the Ancient Times, and cultivated a new home for us. He was there since the ancient beginning and he would have some idea of who these two were.
As for me, I was beginning to change. A presence started to awaken inside of me and what was once a mission to help these two turned into a mission to help all three of us. As we traveled, we grew powerful as a team. We became like brothers, and anything that was thrown our way we pushed back for the sake of our planet.
For the sake of our people.
That became my Enlightenment and you know what? It felt right.
Once we finally learned who we were, what we were, We vanquished the darkness that was freed and restored the light that it overshadowed.
But nothing could prepare us for what was coming.
They arrived.
And they threatened everything.
They destroyed everything we held as sacred and our people were left in ruin, death and destruction.
When they left, we vowed to go after them. Our Overseer agreed as their next stop was here. I don’t know why the Master is so fixated on this planet, but he said defend it at all costs because the future depends on it.
Whatever that means.
Well, now we’re here.
Separated but here.
As I watch the sunset over this vast body of water, I can’t help but wonder if this world will survive. We barely saved ours. How would we fair here?
Quite the weight of the world on our shoulders.
In fact, it’s the weight of the planets that were ravaged before, and those that will be if we don’t stop them.
What makes me even more uncomfortable is that they’re already here. We’ve fought them.
Scouts no less, and they’re looking for something.
All the sightings have been covered up by this planet's elites and leaders.
Fools!
They are not prepared for what’s to come.
So I guess it’s up to us to save these people from themselves and their sheer hubris.
