Chapter 44- Lu Dai... The Sects and Clans Secret

Everyone looked on with shock and terror.

For Core Formation experts like them, they have never witnessed a technique like this before, the scale of it was absolutely ridiculous. Feeling the power it was giving off made them gulp at the thought of what would have happened if they had been caught up in it.

They were several meters away from the edge of the Daoist magic spell but they could still feel a frigid aura wafting from it that made them shiver.

“What type of Daoist magic is this?” A disciple asked with a pale face.

Another disciple who was close by responded, “From the words young master Ling Shui spoke, this must be the spell he received from the Ancient Treasure Palace.”

As soon as that disciple said those words, another disciple quip in a perplexed tone.

“But didn’t young master just receive the spell? How can he use it with such proficiency and power? Even if young master Ling Shui is a top genius, isn’t that too absurd?”

“It’s actually not that weird the Ling Shui was able to execute this Daoist magic with such ease and bring out such power from it. As a matter of fact, it would be weird if he couldn’t.”

Everyone looked to the disciple who said that.

The speaker was a young man that wore white and black robes.

Looking at him, one would think he was a scholar instead of a cultivator. The paper fan held within his hand would further complete that look.

A disciple’s eyes suddenly widen, before he blurted out, “Your Lu Dai from the Severance Sect!!”

When everyone heard that, their eyes went wide, some even let out gasps of shock.

This young man name Lu Dai was actually another top genius of similar fame as Ling Shui and Shen Long. He was a talented conclave disciple of the Severance Sect, a well-known Sage-level Sect.

All the disciples in this sect dressed like mortal scholars instead of cultivators and would spend the same amount of time with their heads buried in books, as in cultivating.

No one had noticed him within the crowd of disciples, even Chenguang who wasn’t too far away had glanced over at him with slight surprise in her eyes.

The young man called Lu Dai flipped open his fan and lightly fanned himself. He then smiled and said, “As I was saying, the fact that Ling Shui was able to easily cast this strong Daoist magic is really simple to figure out.”

As Lu Dai spoke, everyone’s attention turn to him. Not only was Lu Dai known for his extraordinary talents, but he was also well known for his intelligence as well.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Seeing everyone turning their attention to him, Lu Dai’s smile became a little wider.

Slamming the fan shut on his left palm, Lu Dai used it to point at a random disciple before he asked, “You, what’s your name?”

That disciple was slightly taken aback, but he still cupped his fist respectfully and said, “Brother Lu Dai, this disciple’s name is Shao Fei Li.”

Lu Dai nodded before he said, “Disciple Fei Li, would you mind telling me what elemental attribute you awaken when you broke through into the Core Formation realm?”

When that disciple heard Lu Dai’s request, he said, “If it’s a request from brother Lu Dai, then I don’t mind.”

Upon saying that, the disciple name Fei Li flipped over his palm, and in an instant black particles rose from the ground and cluster together to form a small metal pike above his hand.

As this happened several disciple’s eyes light up in surprise.

Lu Dai upon seeing it nodded his head in admiration.

“Brother Lu Dai, as you can see, my elemental attribute is the metal element.”

Smiling Lu Dai said, “Disciple Fei Li, it looks like your not so simple, you're actually able to manipulate the elemental laws of metal in the surrounding environment.”

The disciple Fei Li smiled excitedly but he humbly said, “Brother Lu Dai, this is only a small accomplishment, it’s not worth mentioning.”

Upon seeing how this disciple Fei Li was chatting with Lu Dai and even receiving his compliments, the other disciples in the surroundings couldn’t help but feel jealousy well up within their hearts.

However, they had to admit that this Fei Li had some talents, normally early Core Formation disciples would only be able to manipulate their elemental attribute through the use of their Spiritual Qi since it takes on the properties of it.

Only through comprehending the elemental laws within their attribute to a certain level would someone be able to do what this disciple Fei Li did. That comprehension level of the elemental laws would normally be done by mid and late Core Formation realm disciples, since they would be more familiar with their attributes.

Someone like Fei Li who had that level of comprehension, even if it’s a little, would be well valued by any sect.

Hearing how Fei Li was being humble, Lu Dai started to take a liking to him and even his address for him changed.

“Brother Fei Li, to go back to explaining how Ling Shui cast that powerful Daoist magic spell, let me ask you a question or two. When you're comprehending Earth-level Daoist magic spells that match your attribute, and one that doesn’t, how long would it take you to reach Initial Mastery of them both?”

When Fei Li heard that he paused and thought for a while. As he did, some disciples wonder what that had to do with Ling Shui bringing out such power from the ancient Daoist magic spell, though some could tell where the explanation was going.

After a couple of breaths worth of time, Fei Li said, “Brother Lu Dai, if we’re talking about Daoist magic spells that have no affinity with me then I’ll need around six months to a year to reach the Initial Mastery. And for techniques that match my elemental attribute, then it would take me less than four months to reach Initial Mastery.”

Lu Dai nodded his head repeatedly then said, “This time might vary if someone’s comprehension was higher, but it would be around the same. Now, this amount of time would only be applicable to disciples that awaken one of the five elements, but Ling Shui awakened a legendary deviant element. Do you know how long it would take him to comprehend a Daoist Magic spell that matched his elemental attribute?”

When Lu Dai asked his question he had a mysterious smile on his face.

He didn’t give Fei Li any time to answer his question as he said, “The time it would take for people like Ling Shui, a person who had awaken a Deviant element, to reach Initial Mastery of a Daoist magic spell that fits their elemental attribute is,… mere moments.”

As Lu Dai said that, the expressions of all the disciples change drastically.

‘How was that possible?!!’

A question they all screamed in their heads.

Seeing everyone’s reaction, Lu Dai smiled and flipped open his fan. Fanning himself he continued and said, “Let me tell you all of you a secret that your sects and clans won’t tell you. Every one of you who awakened one of the five elements... is nothing but trash in the cultivation world.”

As Lu Dai’s word’s echoed out, almost every disciple who heard them had their expressions changed to resemble someone who had just swallowed a pile of dog shit.

Seeing that everyone was looking at him with expressions of anger, Lu Dai’s expression became serious before he slapped his fan shut on his left palm. However, unlike before, where nothing happened, this time immediately after the fan was brought down on his palm, a massive wind storm that contained fire spread from the point of impact.

All the disciples were shocked and quickly retreated, but the wind was extremely fast and quickly engulf them.

What was scary about this attack was that the fire within the wind was amplified by it and covered the disciples, but before the fire could burn through their clothes to their skin, it seem to lose its fuel and suddenly extinguished.

The wind, however, still continued to push them back for several meters.

After a while, there was a thirty-meter clearing around Lu Dai, and the only person who wasn’t affected was Fei Li.
