Longwei felt the pressure the ripples from the sun and moon were releasing and he couldn't help but frown.
Weisheng was still suppressing his cultivation at the early stage, but the power he was releasing was extremely strong. If Longwei were to estimate its level of power it would be at the peak of the mid Core Formation realm, almost entering the late stage.
Longwei looked at Weisheng with narrowed eyes and then glanced towards the crimson sun and the crescent blue moon behind him.
Longwei recognized them as the manifestation of the Crescent Moon Sect's Sun and Moon Scripture, a Saint-level cultivation method. Only when someone reached a high comprehension of the cultivation method they cultivate, do they gain the ability to manifest its projection.
But even if they were only projections, they could still affect the laws of the physical world.
The higher the level of a disciple's cultivation method was, the stronger the power boost to their cultivation base would be, so Weisheng being able to show the power of a mid Core Formation expert after manifesting a Saint-level cultivation method's projection didn't surprise Longwei.
However, what did, was the fact that Weisheng was allowed to cultivate the Crescent Moon Sect's only Legacy Technique.
With the Sun and Moon Scripture from the Crescent Moon Sect, a person would be able to gain two elemental attributes when they enter the Core Formation realm, fire, and water. Even the Wu Clan didn't have a cultivation method that allowed someone to gain dual elements.
Weisheng being allowed to cultivate such a valuable and well-guarded technique, despite only being an ordinary disciple was certainly out of the ordinary for Longwei.
Longwei shifted his gaze from the two heavenly bodies and stared back at Weisheng.
With a solemn voice, he said, "Who are you in the Crescent Moon Sect? How come you're allowed to cultivate their Legacy Technique?"
When Weisheng heard Longwei's question, the smile that wasn't really a smile on his face grew wider.
He responded with, "Since it's obvious, there's no need for me to hide this fact anymore. Three years ago I was chosen as a disciple by my Sect leader."
Longwei's expression didn't change upon hearing that, but his eyes flashed with a cold light.
Longmin who was on the edge of the pond wasn't able to hear his brother and Weisheng's conversation, but from the sun and moon projection, he came to the same conclusion.
And his expression was absolutely hideous.
Why? That's because of the implications it entailed.
When Longmin had secretly used his Mystical Dao eyes to see through Weisheng's suppression seal, he realized something.
He realized that the power used to create Weisheng's seal had similarities to the one his granduncle created within his soul. Even though it was a lot weaker and he was actually able to see through it unlike his granduncle's own, it didn't change the fact that the powers use to create them were similar.
And that could only mean one thing, that the Crescent Moon Sect's patriarch might have already reached the Saint realm, or he was only a hair's breadth away from it.
Longmin's expression was ugly because if the patriarch of the Crescent Moon Sect was so close to a breakthrough, why would he need the Heavenly Pallet? And if Weisheng wasn't here for the Heavenly Pallet, then what was he here for then? Why did he challenge his brother?
Longmin wanted to say all of this to Longwei, but he was in the midst of battle, and the possibility of Weisheng becoming suspicious if he went out there now was highly likely.
Longmin became slightly nervous as he felt that something bad was about to happen. And the fact that he sense another seal within Weisheng he couldn't see through made him worried even more.
'If anything happens I'll immediately use a hundred percent of my Spiritual Sense to intervene.'
Even though Longmin was extremely worried, he knew that he wasn't the only one on high alert. The two bodyguards and their demonic beasts were also ready to jump in if Longwei was in danger.
Longmin released a long breath of air as he continued to watch the battle between his brother and Weisheng unfold.
Longwei was standing on the hovering broadsword as the strong ripples spread out from Weisheng's sun and moon batted against him. His face was still expressionless as he said, "Do you seriously think the outcome of this battle will be any different because you cultivate such an inferior technique?"
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The Sun and Moon Scripture Weisheng cultivated was indeed at the Saint-level, but Longwei's Heavenly Sword Scripture was a high-grade Saint-level cultivation method, while the Sun and Moon Scripture was only a low-grade Saint-level cultivation method.
Though, contrary to Longwei's condescension towards the Sun and Moon Scripture, it was still a Saint-level cultivation method that could allow someone to cultivate to the Saint realm. It was unlike Earth-level cultivation methods that could only allow a disciple to cultivate to the peak of the Nirvana Realm.
Weisheng's aura suddenly increased and the earth started to shake harder.
Huge waves rolled on the pond's surface, but the space surrounding Weisheng was calm as if it was a separate space entirely.
Violent ripples were all around the area but the sound of Weisheng's voice was still clear as day.
"Young master Longwei, you still have a total of three moves, I'm ready when you are."
Hearing that Longwei snorted.
Then, from within his body, an intangible force suddenly erupted forth with tremendous momentum. That force was his sword aura, a manifestation of his Heavenly Sword Scripture.
As the sword aura came in contact with the ripples in the surrounding area, it seem to take on the shape of a huge sword and sliced them apart.
Weisheng stood on the surface of the water, the ripples from his crimson red sun and crescent blue moon clashed against Longwei's domineering sword aura.
When Longwei's sword aura reached a peak of some sort, he started forming hand seals so fast that even Kakashi would have seemed slow compared to him.
In but a flash Longwei's hand shadows came to a stop, then raising his right index finger above his head he barked out the name of his Sword Art.
"Everlasting Sword Art: Heavens Judgment!!"
Immediately after, Longwei's body began releasing an overwhelming amount of Sword Qi from his dantian. But unlike what happened within the Wu Clan's training grounds, the Sword Qi didn't gather onto his index finger, this time it rose from his body and coalesced into a gigantic heavenly sword above his head.
The clouds in the sky parted as the pressure from the massive blue sword spread out in the air.
With a cold expression, Longwei dropped his hand and the heavenly sword was sent hurtling down towards Weisheng, with the tip of the sword aimed right between his eyebrows.
Weisheng looked up at the falling sword and felt the pressure from it crashing down on his shoulders. The water in the pond sank from the force of the pressure and even his sun and moon had sunk a few feet as well.
Weisheng snorted and with a bellow, his sun's radiance increased in intensity and transformed into a huge shield with the picture of a sun on its surface. It then rose from behind Weisheng to meet Longwei's heavenly sword.
Its size was not inferior to Longwei's sword and as it rose into the air, it released a blazing aura that caused the water in the pond to sizzle and evaporate. The heat had also reached the edge of the pond causing some of the trees to turn to ash in an instant.
Longmin retreated a few meters backward before the two large demonic beasts released their aura and protected him. Longmin halt his retreat and watched as his brother's heavenly sword fell from the heavens to towards Weisheng's huge shield that rose from the earth to meet it.
As the tip of the sword met the shield in the air, an ear-shattering explosion occurred.
The devastation of the clash was literally earth-shaking as the explosion spread and ravage the trees and nearby mountains. All the clouds were blasted away leaving the sky in clear view.
Even though it had occurred above the pond, it had not been spared, huge waves were crashing against the edge of it, while a huge swirling wormhole appeared below the point of impact of Weisheng's and Longwei's attacks.
Longwei was looking down at the pond while hovering on his Sword Qi in the air. The strong winds from the explosion were batting against his slightly pale face.
After several minutes when the explosion calm down, through the smoke, Longwei could see the swirling wormhole in the pond.
His attack that contained all of his Sword Qi had pierced through the shield formed from Weisheng's sun projection, but its power had decreased by seventy percent.
The swirling wormhole in the pond was the result of the remaining thirty percent of his Sword Qi attacking Weisheng. Within the center of the wormhole, Longwei saw a sphere of water floating in mid-air, with Weisheng's crescent blue moon nowhere to be seen.
After some time, the sphere of water parted to reveal Weisheng inside.
He was holding a crescent blade that glowed a deep blue color. It was another form of his crescent blue moon, similar to the shield his sun had transformed into.
Waving the crescent blade, the swirling wormhole in the pond heeded to his command and began to close.
After it closed, Weisheng waved the crescent blade again and the sphere of water shattered and enter the water below.
Weisheng was now standing on the water's surface looking up at Longwei. His face was even paler than Longwei's and he was breathing rather heavily as well.
However, he still had a calm expression as he said, "Young master Longwei, that's your third move. If you can't kill or injure me with the next two moves, you lose."
Hearing that, Longwei's eyes flash with killing intent for the first time. Longwei might have said five moves but he had wanted to defeat Weisheng with three moves at most.
But he didn't anticipate Weisheng becoming the disciple of the Crescent Moon Sect patriarch, and was even allowed to cultivate their Sun and Moon Scripture.
That's why he had gone all out to such a degree for his third move, but despite that Longwei had still failed to defeat Weisheng.
'Will I really have to resort to 'that' to defeat him?'
Thinking this to himself Longwei frowned.
'Fine, if my next move can't defeat him, then I'll make him regret ever challenging me.'
Looking down at Weisheng, a smile suddenly appeared on Longwei's lips.
