Thud!
"Ouch! Why does my head keep getting hit this morning?!!!"
Taken out from his dazed state, Peter rubbed his aching head and saw an acorn on the ground.
"This little thing again....."
He irritatedly look up at a branch and saw a squirrel laying on its back squeakly laughing at him.
"You bushy-tailed monster....!"
He still threw back the acorn to the squirrel because its the squirrel's source of food.
More importantly though, it's the only companion he had throughout the years he was exiled, which was maybe the reason that he didn't lose his mind yet. "Bushy-tailed monster" as the name Peter gave him though is kind of questionable....
"Now, I can start my daily training...."
...
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
As usual, even after many years, "Bushy-tailed monster" was still staring, being amazed even with a half eaten acorn in its mouth, at Peter's daily training.
Peter was jumping from place to place at an amazingly fast pace while throwing three to four pebbles in different directions at every jump.
The speed of each pebble was around 105.9 mph which only needs to be added with 0.1 to reach the limits of a mortal in their world.
Huff!
"Yosh! Next one"
After an hour of doing this kind of training, he took a deep breathe and rested for ten minutes before continuing to the next one.
"Bushy-tailed monster!"
"Squeak!"
As if understanding his intention, the squirrel pulled a lever from inside of a tree, and a gap the size of a door opened on the tree in front of Peter.
Witnessing all of these, Peter still couldn't believe how someone who's as small as "Bushy-tailed monster" can make something like this. As for the squirrel having consciousness at the same level of a human, he wasn't that confused since there are a lot of animals that absorbed magical power in the atmosphere and having the intelligence of a human is the least of its effects.

He shook his head and slapped his cheeks to wake himself up and focused on the door sized gap.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Rocks of different sizes was thrown at him at astonishing speeds that matched his own throws.
He readied his pose and kicked at an even faster speed.
Bam!
Bam!
Bam!
...
After another hour of a different kind of training, Peter finally stopped and stared at his red and sore feet. Though not as worse than the beginning when he couldn't even handle being damaged by a single kick, and bleeding when the fifth one, his situation is much better now considering that he's been thrown by hundreds of rocks in the past hour with only redness and a few bumps on his legs.
"I'm 99.9% at the limit of mortal level, today should be the day I can make a breakthrough..."
Looking at the few crack skins on his hand and the injuries on his legs and feet, he smiled helplessly and thought about the first year where he was only continuing this kind of training through sheer will even with his body going through much worse.
The image of him bleeding from almost every part of his body flashed through his mind and that look of madness he always had at that time as if even death couldn't faze him, much less a mortal or serious injuries.
Around at the start of the second year though, this weird squirrel came to his cave while he was breathing heavily in desperation just to live another day, he thought it was an enemy, but when he saw the eyes of the squirrel, it was filled with innocence and pity so he just laid down. Unexpectedly, the squirrel crawled on his body, and stopped at his chest.
"So bushy tailed...."
His consciousness was blurry at that time, but he could feel that his injuries were slowly recovering, starting from his chest where the squirrel was.
He opened his eyes through the blood that covered it and saw the squirrel's both arms were glowing green.
"Bushy-tailed...."
He thought the squirrel would leave the next day but it still came back. Peter never really expected that someone is willing to help him in this desperate time of this, even if it's not a human, it's better than a human, apparently.
He expected it would stop helping him, but it still kept coming back. At first, it was only healing, but as time passed by, it started building him weird inventions.
"Bushy-tailed, you're so amazing!"
The squirrel was complacently taking in the compliments because it thought that the human finally had the brain to admire it, but the truth was...
"Bushy-tailed monster!!!!"
..... Peter was crazily scared at this small creature with a bushy tail.
"You're so small yet so magical, you must be a monster!!!!! A bushy-tailed monster!!!!!"
The "bushy-tailed monster" was gaping with its jaw on the ground staring at this human who it once admired for being so resilient only to know he was so stupid.
Thud!
"Ouch! Why are you throwing acorns at me?!!!"
That was the day the "bushy-tailed monster" who kept throwing him acorns and rocks everyday was born.
...
Inside the cave, Peter is currently meditating with crossed legs position on a prayer mat.
Almost visible to the naked eyes, a small stream of green waves of energy kept being absorbed by every inch of his skin.
A bit of cold sweat dripped from Peter's head as his whole body seemed to be breathing with the green energy faster and faster, until.....
*Boom!*
The green energy dispersed to the surroundings, and cold and hot air was released from his body, confusing the air around him.
"Finally! I've finally broken through the limits of the Mortal level!!!"
Peter smiled, but deep inside, he was somewhat helpless because most people would only who trained, always trained from their childhood and breakthrough the Mortal level and 10 to 12 years old. Peter. however, started only when he was 14 years old.
He managed to get lucky to breakthrough in 6 years because of the "Bushy-tailed monster", without it, it would've taken him 8 or more years, and that is considering his will that he's proud of.
Though he knew that his will wasn't this strong before he found out that he had a child though, he only thought of fooling around and planned on milking money from his above-average grades as a scholar.
*Squeak!*
The "Bushy-tailed monster" came in and witnessed Peter's breakthrough. It squeeked repeatedly and stood proudly with chin raised highly as if to say that it was the reason Peter was able to breakthrough.
"Haha! Yes, yes, it was thanks to you that I was able to breakthrough this fast, Bushy-tailed monster!"
The squirrel appreciated the compliments, blatantly at that by squeaking repeatedly but was irritated when it heard Peter's name for it.
"Squeak!!!"
*Thud!*
*Thud!*
"Ouch! Ouch! Why are your throws still painful even when I broke through?!!! You really are a bushy-tailed monster!!!!"
"Squeak!!!!"
