CHAPTER 7

  "What does that bag contain, that they are killing you for it?" Xander asked while pointing at the bag pulled out by Jed. He was also curious about the contents of the bag.

Jed, hearing Xander question, opened the bag and various colored gemlike stones can be seen inside the bag. Xander seeing these for the first time asked about those stones.

"These are called elemental stone, these stones are rare. Each one of these are equal to hundreds of golds which can be use for a lifetime without working."

Jed answered to Xander questions, He was surprised that Xander doesn't know about these stones.

"Why are they valuable? They are just colored stones" Xander asked. 

"To people who have [Blessings], the [Chosens],these stones does not have any value. But to ordinary people like us these stones can be used to increase our strength, For example warriors can use these stones to upgrade their weapons by fusing them with these stones, if you put a fire type stone your attacks will have a fire atributte, then it's also the same for other attributes. To mages having a elemental stone can increase your spells power. If you have a lightning type stone, your lightning magic will increase by 2-3 times. Thats how important these stones are." Bart was the one who explained it to Xander.

"Then why do other people sell it rather than use it" Xander asked. His face was like a child asking his parents. The cold and merciless look from before was nowhere to be found.

"These stones can also be use be use by ordinary people with no talent in magic nor combat. They can seal magic according to the attribute, a fire type spell can be sealed in a fire type stone like that. So some noble or merchants buy these to protect themselves. It is also as a source of energy" Bart replied.

"heehh. So are you going to sell it or use it?" Xander said

"we're going to split it up then they will be the one to decide on what will they do about it. So Xander...." Jed scoop a handful of those stones and gave it to Xander " We wish to give this to you, as thank for saving our lives" Jed said to Xander while bowing. His friends also bowed to me, they knew that these stones have no value to him. But they still want to repay him for saving their lives.

Due to Jed actions, Xander had a good impression towards the group."I can't accept these. I didn't save you for these" Xander said to the group

"but...but we want to thank you for saving our lives so please accept these" Jed said with resolute eyes. 

"as I said I don't care about those stones, I have money and I'm also a  [Chosen]. But if you want to pay me back how about touring me in the city and help me rusupply and recommend me a good shop and inn. I will only accept that"Xander said to them

Jed and the others had no choice but to accept what he said. They knew that these stones had no value to him." Okay we accept"

"How far is the next city from here" Xander asked. "Grayridge city is about one day on feet from here, but you have your griffin will you wait for us in there?" the one replied was Jed. He knew with thr griffin he can arrive in the city within an hour.

"No, I will also walked I also want to try travelling by foot too." He replied, "then what about your griffin?" the one who asked next was Lara

"Well he can walk, Im also tired of flying in the air, my butt was sore from sitting." He replied.

They decided to continue travelling towards Grayridge city, while travelling that Lara and Jed were married for almost a year, While Lucy and Alice were siblings with Alice being the eldest being 18 years old and Lucy being 16 years old. Bart also have a wife. As they were travelling Alice suddenly asked about Xander's age. When He answered her question all of them were dumbfounded after hearing he was only 8 years old. They thought He was already 10. A day passed by and they arrived at Grayridge City. Xander spoke to the griffin.

"You can be free now. If you still want to serve me come back after 2 years at this place" Xander said. He decided to travel on land to make it more thrilling and register as an adventurer. He also grew close to the griffin but he had no choice he can't bring it to the city, so he decided to set it free.

The griffin also grew close to its master. He was proud to have a master like Xander who was very strong while still very young. He knew what was his master thinking why it decided freed him. "Master I will wait for you in here in 2 years" then he flew. 

This city has 2 huge gates the north and south gate. They entered the north gate, as they entered a huge crowd can be seen, some were selling their merchandise, others were  buying. It's like there is a festival ongoing due to the number of people. Jed and the others seeing the look on Xander eyes, can't help to feel warm in their hearts. That even though this child have killed people and was very strong. It was still a child. Jed decided to speak.

"Xander, where do you wish to go first?" 

"I want to find an inn first, I'm in no hurry to roam I will be staying in a month  in here"He replied. "If that's the case I know a good inn, they also have delicous food. I guarantee it."

Lucy suddenly spoke with a somehow proud voice. "That's right just follow us" Alice hurriedly said with also a proud voice. ""SO LEAVE IT TO US GUYS" They both said to the all of them. 

"Okay we'll leave it to you guys" "Ok I also know that inn" "Xander if you need anything just ask us" the three of them left the only ones left were Xander and the sisters. 

The two sister led Xander deeper in the city until they arrive at a two story house. The three of them went inside. Xander was confused why they were in here so he asked the sister but the sisters reply was

"Hehe! For you this house will be inn free of charge"" And the dishes in here are delicious" Xander was surprised, he wanted to refuse but seeing the resolution on the sisters eyes he decided to accept their offer.

"Lucy, Lara welcome back. Ara ara who's this boy" A voice came from the stairs . What came out was a beautiful brown haired woman with a beautiful body parts.

"ahh mother, this is Xander He saved us from bandits" "That's right mother even though he young he is very strong" Alice spoke first and was followed by Lucy.

"Xander is it? Thank you for saving my daughters. I am their mother, Lena Brandth." Lena introduced himself to Xander and thanked him.

"I'm Xander, I only did the natural thing to do" He said to Lena. "Xander, I heard from them that you will be staying in here so let me prepare your room, we have a guest room for guest like you" Lena said.

That night he learned that the sister's father was also an adventurer and was killed while adventuring 3 years ago. The girls decided to folow in their father's footsteps and also became an adventurer to cover their needs. But now they have enough money they have gotten from the stones they had decided to stop being an adventurer and start an restaurant, well Xander taste the food and it was delicious.

"By the way Xander where did you came from?" Lena suddenly asked to him. "That's right you havent told us yet." the two sisters also said. 

"I came from Fior" He said to them he had no reason to lie. They may not know that he was from the royal family.

The next day. Jed and Bart came to visit Xander and offered him to show him around the city but the sisters objected and they want to be the one to tour him. The two decided to leave it to them.

"Xander where do you want to go first?" Lucy asked." It's up to the both of you I dont know much about this city so I'll leave it to the two of you okay." He replied. They spent the entire day touring the whole city. They first went to the some food stalls and clothing shop and etc....

The next day He asked for the directiona of the Adventurer association to register, as he walked inside many the adventurers inside swept their gaze to the handsome black haired boy. Xander felt their gazes has a hint of ridicule for him being a child. One of them suddenly stepped forward it was a tall man that looks like a crook." Oi Kid! Are you lost this ain't a playground" the crook looking man said.

"No. I'm  here to register as an adventurer." Xander said to the man then walked away. The crook looking man was shocked and shivered as he heard Xander said these words for his voice and his gaze has coldness not appropriate for his age.

As Xander walked towards the counter a voice rang out and it was Bart, Jed and his wife Lara sitting on a table. Xander went towards and sat with them but Jed was the first one to speak."Xander are you here to register?"he asked

"Yes, Are you picking a job?" Xander asked. "Haha. No were not, we are just reporting that we are retiring. We already earned enough to last a lifetime so we decided to settle down." Jed said

"Ahh Okay. by the way can you teach me about adventurers." He asked. Jed explained it to him." There are 5 ranks of adventurers: D,C,B,A and S each rank are divided into 3, if you are a B rank it can become B-, B and B+ and so on. You can only accept jobs 1 rank above you and below. To determine your rank when you register there will be a test to decide your rank, the test is a mystery." after Xander heard Jed's explanation he went towards the counter. In the counter there was a charming female receptionist "Hello there, is there something that you want?"the receptionist said to him

"I want to register as an adventurer"he said to her. The receptionist was shocked that this young black haired boy wanted to be an adventurer but after she heard him said those words she knew that he wasn't joking. "Ok you need to fill these form and take a test." she said to him

He only wrote half of his name for someone might recognize him and fake his age. After filing these form he gave it to the receptionist." what rank do you want to test? You can only take a test once if you fail it you cannot take the test again until you finish 100 E rank jobs." the woman said to him.

"The highest rank you can give" he said. The whole place became silent, after the boy's voice was so clear to make all them hear it.Not only the receptionist was shocked she also became dumbfounded including some of the adventurers who heard him said that. 'Is this kid joking?' some of them thought. But the 3 adventurers weren't shocked when they heard, they were Jed, Lara and Bart.

"Kid don't joke about this I know you want to be an adventurer but to take an A rank test. your still a  child." the receptionist said.

 "Do I look like am joking with you" Xander said to her. It cause the woman to feel fear in her heart just by looking at the cold golden eyes of the boy. She felt that this boy was not an ordinary one.

"Ok, we can only allow you to take a A- rank test. The test condition is you need to defeat 10 B rank within 5-10 minutes." She said "are you willing to take it" she thought that the boy will reconsider the test take a lower level one but what the boy said crush her expectations.

"Of course, If you want I can defeat all the one who are inside." He said in an arrogant yet confident tone. After hearing those words all of them became dumbfounded and thought he was an arrogant, shitty naive brat but as Xander swept his gaze through them. All them felt fear in their hearts after seeing Xander emotionless cold gaze."Are you all willing" He said to all of them.

Xander shot a glance at the receptionist and asked "Is that okay?" the woman just nodded then infront of her eyes the boy dissapeared, she was shocked how the boy dissapeared and as he was looking for the boy somthing unbelievable was happening in front of her eyes. One by one The 25 men in the tavern were being rendered unconscious. Which almost all of them were rank B and below.What she can only see was a black blur.

The men in the guild thought that the boy was joking when he said that they will defeat all of them all by himself. At first they were laughing at the boy until one by one they were being rendered unconscious by something before they were given a chance to react. 

A few minutes later there are only 3 men standing they were B+ rank adventurers. The 3 of them due to their good physical abilities they saw that the one defeating them was the black haired boy wielding a huge black scythe. All of them felt fear towards this child who looked liked death himself. Then the boy stop and stared at them this gaze made their hearts tremble they knew that they had no chance of winning againts this boy but they decided not to surrender but they want to be defeated with honor.

All of them attacked at the same time. Xander seeing all 3 of them attacking decided to end it before the 3 arrive at his spot he teleported behind the 3 of them and severed their consciousness. 

The receptionist became slack - jaw ed after seeing this scene that transpired in front of her eyes, om how the young boy defeated 25 of them within a span of 3 minutes. Suddenly the boy is spoke to him

"Don't worry I only rendered them unconscious they will wake up." Xander said. He thought the receptionist was worried that they were killed so he reassured her. "Y-yes, Mr. Xander this is your guild card pour some mana into it to bind it" the receptionist became polite for she knew that this kid is professional.

Xander pour some mana into the guild card and it dissappeared. The receptionist said that you can make it appear again  by just thinking it. He made the card appeared again and look at the words written
