Spencer looked at his passed out friends. Even if they were unconscious, it was great to see familiar faces. He started dragging them over to the house. He could carry Kyle, but Eric was bigger. He gave up and leaned them both against a shady tree near the field he had worked in. He could see the blossoming of life as tiny peaks of green crested the dirt mounds. Before he could get more poetic, Kyle woke up.
"What the hell?" Kyle mumbled, still half-asleep.
Spencer picked Kyle up and hugged him. Kyle told Spencer to calm down, and Spencer told Kyle to wait until Eric was up for the tutorial. Spencer glanced towards Eric and noticed he was smiling.
"You're awake, aren't you?" Spencer asked
"Yeah, ever since you dragged us over to this tree." Eric responded, then opened his eyes with a grin.
"And you didn't help? Jerk move, dude."
Spencer then proceeded to tell them the full story of his week here. He started with him arriving a week early, but he left out the part where he was the favorite hero. He continued and told of the nice farmer and his daughter, and the strange language they speak. He explained skills and the inventory, and his combat experience. When he finally finished his tale, Kyle and Eric had gaping mouths. Apparently they were on different pages. Kyle spoke first.
"You took the ranged class? Asshole!"
"All I had was the bow, we could still change classes, I guess." Spencer responded, scratching his head.
Eric was still speechless and befuddled at the torrent of information he had gotten. He sputtered, then finally managed "Wizard... skills?"
Spencer did his best to respond, "I haven't toyed with magic yet, Eric, but I'm sure you can be a wizard."
Spencer went back inside of the house and gathered his few possessions, and said a goodbye to the farmer and his daughter. When he got back to his friends, Kyle and Eric were arguing.
"Just let him be ranged for once, Kyle! You never let him do what he wants!"
"You're only saying that because nobody wants to be a wizard!"
Spencer butted in, "It's fine, really guys. I like doing whatever." Spencer looked both ways down the path they were walking to. It looked like a highway that could lead to a city, but he wasn't sure where it could lead. He could see the faintest bump on the horizon that could mean a town, but the other way looked just as good. Spencer pulled a quarter out of his jeans and performed the old ritual of the coin flip to decide. Tails he would go left, towards the bump, and heads meant the other way. The coin landed perfectly in his hand. It was Tails.
"Alright guys, let's go this way!" Spencer yelled to Kyle and Eric, who were still glaring daggers at each other.
They started walking, and they discussed what they really wanted to do other than the whole 'save the world' thing.
"I want to make a base and craft all sorts of things!" Spencer said.
"Uh, I guess I want to be a master thief, and amass huge riches!" Kyle said
"Wizard." Eric said, bluntly.
Spencer froze. He could see the faint outlines of people with weapons up ahead, poorly hiding behind a bush. The hunting skill may only help him with killing animals, but the practice helped him notice things better. Spencer whispered to his friends to stop, gave Eric his club/staff, gave Kyle the bow and arrows he had worked on, and Grabbed the sword and dagger for himself. They may be wooden, but it's better than fists.
"There might be bandits up ahead, be careful guys." Spencer told his group.
They walked forward at a normal pace, acting like they didn't see the bandits, who had just sprung out from behind the bush. One had a rusty longsword, and the other had two curved daggers.
"Your stuff or your life." The bandit with the sword said gruffly.
Spencer got into a defensive stance, Kyle backed away, and Eric held out his staff with one hand. Then, attacking as a group, Spencer disarmed the warrior with lightning speed, Eric clubbed the Rogue, and Kyle shot an arrow at the rogue's feet. In the span of five seconds, they had taken care of the bandits. The rogue cried out in pain and fell over. The warrior looked at his fallen comrade and took a swing at Spencer. Spencer used his Timed Dodge ability and ducked under the blow. He struck at the warrior's legs, making a shallow gash across his knees. The warrior fell over, and Eric knocked him out with his club. The battle was over and Spencer could tell they all had gotten notifications.

After everyone had finished with their menus, Spencer looked around a bit more. Kyle was looting the bandit's bodies, and Eric was saying spell names trying to get something to happen. Spencer noticed a wagon a bit away, hidden behind some trees. He called his friends over. As it turns out, there was a mage in the party, and Kyle kind of assassinated him with one of the daggers. The sword and other dagger had gone to Spencer. He gave Eric the robes, and they fit him fairly well. They also apparently increase his mana and mana regeneration. In the cart was all kinds of other loot. There was an assortment of money, some regular clothes, which Spencer and Kyle changed in to, because jeans and a t-shirt was kind of weird. There was also a shield, but Spencer hated shields, parrying or disarming was much better. The best thing they found couldn't have been a coincidence. There were three tomes in the cart, one for each of them. Kyle received a book that taught him the basics of pickpocketing and stealing, Spencer received a book that taught him how to tan hides, and possibly best of all, Eric got a book that taught him how to manipulate his mana. The fact that they all found skill books in things they all wanted to do was too weird. They shrugged it off anyways.
They also had a new vehicle to drive in, and although there was no horse to been seen, Eric could now use his mana to push them forwards every so often. All in all, life was good, and it turns out that the bump started getting bigger and bigger until a town came in to view. Unfortunately, their good luck couldn't continue, as when they got there, the town was under siege. There was a bunch of bandits looting and razing the town, and luckily for the town, three heroes had just arrived.
They parked half a mile away and ran towards the town. Kyle arrived first and started climbing a tall building. Apparently their knowledge of how to do certain things did transition over from Earth. Eric and Spencer ran into the town, with Eric behind Spencer. There were ten bandits in the clearing, all begging to be knocked out. Spencer ran towards one and jumped, kicking out with his leg at the bandit's chest and slicing the bandit's arm with his dagger. The metal one did a lot more, and the bandit stood, clutching his arm. Spencer used the pommel of his sword to knock him out and moved on to the next one. This time he was swung at first, and barely dodged the sword swipe, it grazing his shoulder. He stabbed at the bandit's right hand, making him drop his weapon and Spencer once again knocked the bandit out. This continued until only two bandits remained. Then another one appeared behind them, but he looked intelligent, and ready to kill the three. It was the bandit leader.
Two arrows quickly made their way into the goons guarding the leader and his smile faltered. Spencer ran forward, but before he reached the bandit leader, a glowing blue orb whizzed past his ear, hitting the bandit leader in the knee. He staggered forward and swung horizontally, as Spencer stepped backwards to avoid it, the leader changed his attack to a lunge and stabbed Spencer in the chest. Spencer stepped back once again before the leader could do any more damage, feigned left, then swung with an overhead strike. It connected, and the bandit leader landed with a thud on the ground. An arrow hit the bandit leader's leg right as Spencer collapsed and passed out.
Spencer woke up an hour later, with a cloth wrapped around his chest. He had received a flurry of messages and naturally had to check them all. He had a few level ups of some skills and got a new skill that let him overhead smash people like he did to the bandit leader. He also leveled up himself twice and had a very interesting notification.

Spencer groaned and turned over, opening the character menu to distribute his 20 stat points. He put 5 into Strength, Endurance, Charisma, and Luck. He believed in luck so much, but lately it hadn't been doing him any favors. He also chose the Fast Learner Perk. Although he had been pretty lucky prior to getting stabbed in the chest. He closed his eyes and went to sleep, dreaming of his amazing battle.
