Project 1: Royal Roads; Ch. 1: The Community, Part 1
Why is chapter 1 on the community?
Well, I’m currently still trying to compile a complete history. So, to start project one, I’ll instead begin with something that I have plenty of knowledge of and documentary on.
So, then. To start, I’ll answer a question:
Q.
Who are we?
A.
We are the people who frequent a veritable mecca for all writers and readers.
A website, no, a world known as Royal Road. A great Road for anyone to travel.
----------------------------------------
What will be covered will mostly be about the general community on the RR forums in this particular chapter. The community of those who actively speak among each other.
I’m Comms, for example. You can find me on the forums occasionally, under the username RRCommunityProjects; https://www.royalroad.com/profile/195557 (as of the beginning of 2021 and slightly before.).
I’m not a particularly notable member of the community, but I may list a few of the people I respect on here occasionally. You may recognize them.
Lime is probably the more memorable one, or Amnesia.
They are the others who worked on this with me.(Or, according to lime, we’re all the same person…)

Our Members
First thing one may be able to note is when checking any comment on any thread that there is a +rep button. Generally, the higher it is, the more helpful or more entertaining someone is.
Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel.
Just because someone doesn’t have shiny achievements doesn’t mean they aren’t respected.
For example, there are quite a few members of very notable respect that don’t even have a unique profile picture. Yeah, shallow way to look at it, right?
Well, if I were to compare it to most other communities, to a newcomer, someone like that is usually referred to as a Non, etc, or someone unimportant, generally. In RR, that is not the case.
Fancy border, profile pic, achievements(other than notable member.), premium or free, when you joined, or general fanciness in any other way is unimportant on RR. Everyone here is equal. And we all respect that.
Asking anything(unless controversial enough to cause a debate in almost any setting. There’s a section in the forums for that specifically.) is actually highly encouraged.
If you have questions, I recommend you ask.
If you’re nervous, there are people who want to help you. Those who actively encourage you.
Lime chose to do some stupid stuff and test reactions, like an idiot, and everything was positive.
Almost every active person on the forums as of right now(the date currently as of this edit is 1/4/2021) is nice. Some aren’t the brightest, or have the best grasp on the world, but all of them are good eggs.
Though, the ones who aren’t the brightest are kinda obvious, given the lime profile picture, and the radiation symbol that was designed to look like it was an angel with wings profile picture. That’s off topic. Moving on.

If you want a post referencing peoples general taste in books on RR, check out this post for what they dislike in a story; https://www.royalroad.com/forums/thread/101911
If you want to know what they enjoy in a story, check out this post; You will often read people talking about LitRPG being more popular on RR. I’ll make a very specific one as I write this(1/4/2021). Here’s the link; https://www.royalroad.com/forums/thread/107430
----------------------------------------
As for the staff, they are both members of our community(beloved ones) and the people who keep everything running smoothly. That deserves its own section, however.
----------------------------------------
As of right now, I’m keeping the chapters decently short. Therefore, this is the end of the current section, but not the end of the chapter.
I will be detailing a large amount of information throughout the series, and I’ll try to include all of the sources whenever relevant. Currently it is late/early, so I’m shoving this out there for right now, going to bed, and heavily editing it later on.
-Comms, off.
