Chapter 32 Hunting

It was late at night, the streetlights were turned off, and the sound of the wind blowing through the willow trees by the river could be heard.

Due to the strange occurrences, people rarely appeared on the streets at night, most of them would stay at home until dawn.

However, Luo Honglang was an exception. His job required him to work the night shift, so he had to leave his house and go to the company in the middle of the night.

Some might ask, isn't he looking for trouble?

Luo Honglang was well aware of the risks, but he couldn't resist the high salary that came with the night shift.

Thanks to the strange occurrences, the night shift salary had been significantly increased, multiplied several times.

"After a few more months, I will quit! Once I pay off my father's debt, I can find a normal job." Luo Honglang made a determination in his heart and courageously walked towards the company.

Without the illumination of the streetlights, Luo Honglang could only move forward with a flashlight. He bought a powerful flashlight with a large brightness and range, which made him feel less scared when he turned it on.

The summer night breeze was quite cool, blowing away the heat from his body. As Luo Honglang saw that he was about to reach the company, he felt much more at ease and walked with lighter steps.

"Who's there?"

Suddenly, a voice full of vigor came from behind him, and Luo Honglang was startled. He quickly turned his flashlight to illuminate the street behind him.

It turned out to be several men in police uniforms, also carrying flashlights on patrol.

"Hello officer, I am an employee on my way to work at the power plant ahead!" Luo Honglang explained when they came closer, relieved.

"What kind of work do you have to do at this late hour? You're asking for trouble!" The leading man said unkindly, "You'll bring us a lot of trouble like this!"

"I'm really sorry, I have no choice. I plan to live at the company from now on!" Luo Honglang explained.

"Alright, alright, be careful and go on ahead!" The man waved his hand and, along with his colleagues, continued their patrol.

Luo Honglang quickened his pace, he still had to clock in, and he didn't want to be late.

Finally entering the brightly lit power plant, Luo Honglang breathed a sigh of relief. He definitely wanted to live in the company dormitory so that he wouldn't have to worry about the dangerous nighttime roads, but there weren't enough spots available and he had to wait.

Putting on his work clothes, Luo Honglang went to inspect the equipment as usual. To his surprise, the three police officers he had just met on the road followed his colleagues into the plant!

"Hey, officers, you can't just come in here! It's very dangerous!" Luo Honglang hurriedly went forward to greet them. They hadn't worn protective clothing when they entered, and if something went wrong, it would be troublesome.

"Luo Honglang, what are you doing here?" the leading man asked in surprise. "We were just looking for you. You even came to the power plant. We asked your colleague."

"Why are you looking for me? Did I do something wrong?" Luo Honglang was puzzled and his speech became a bit stuttered.

"On the road just now, why did you look at us and then run away?" the man looked at him strangely. "We thought you were a criminal or something. That's why we chased you to the power plant!"

"Yeah, Lao Luo! They came over and pointed at the picture on the employee wall, saying they were looking for you! So I brought them over." Luo Honglang's colleague also explained.

"What? I...I didn't run!" Luo Honglang shuddered in fear. When did he run? Didn't he just talk to the police officers?

"You see! Is this not you?" The man took out his phone and played a video on the screen: a dark street, a flashlight constantly swinging, and Luo Honglang running frantically!

"Who is this..." Luo Honglang's brain exploded. The man running away in the video was indeed himself. "He is Luo Honglang, then who am I?"

"We don't know either." The three police officers and the electric company colleagues suddenly spoke in unison, sounding strange and terrifying. "He is Luo Honglang, then who are we?"

Luo Honglang looked up and saw that the four men in front of him had all turned into his own appearance! They kept repeating the question, "Then who are we?"

"Ah..." Luo Honglang trembled all over, unable to move, his face pale.

He had been scared silly! ----

Ye Sha stood on the side of the road, watching Luo Honglang standing stupidly in place. This man was being possessed by an unknown black creature and was clearly under a strange spell.

"You feel it, right?" Ye Sha looked at the black and eerie substance slowly covering Luo Honglang's entire body. Knowing that he couldn't wait any longer, he instantly transformed into a werewolf, and with a kick of his hind legs, charged forward.

"Chila la la"

Ye Sha's wolf claws penetrated directly into the body of the black creature, making a piercing sound like hot oil in water.

He tried to use brute force to separate the strange entity from the man, but unfortunately, the man started to bleed from his nose and his body shook violently.

Ye Sha had to abandon this plan. Unless absolutely necessary, he had no reason to kill anyone.

"Then let's try some psychological attacks!" With a plan in mind, the werewolf Ye Sha howled towards the sky!

Brainwashing demon sound, surging and explosive!

This time, the black and eerie creature couldn't handle it and quickly detached from Luo Honglang's body, trying to escape.

Unfortunately, Ye Sha was quick to react and grabbed the black entity like a string of sugar-coated haws.

"I've been squatting all night, and finally encountered one. Isn't it said that strange things are everywhere?" The werewolf complained as he held the black entity and gradually disappeared into the darkness.

The street was left with Luo Honglang lying unconscious on the ground, blood streaming from his ears, possibly due to his eardrums being shattered by the wolf's howl...
