Chapter 5- Vessel of Garuda

Strange….its eyes seem to be open and closed at the same time…

Wait, that isn’t it……even with closed eyes, he can sense his surroundings.

Now I am sure….the feeling that I felt before is coming from him.

In that case he should've already sensed that I am near him…..unless he is aware but thinks that I am not worth his attention.

This didn’t make him angry, at the least. If anything, it made him raise his guard even more.

The thing in front in front of him didn't seem to give off threatening feeling, but that could be because he's suppressing it.

His beady cyan eyes flashed as he took a step back.

Damn it, I was too careless……Just cause one of the inhabitants of the planet is weak doesn't mean all of them are.

‘Who are you? Not anyone can get through the barrier I created.’

The calming voice of the strange individual sitting near the tree calmed down his nerves.

Not yet having let down his guard, he didn’t communicate. Instead, he tried coming up with more ways to escape the situation.

‘Hmmm….this is strange, you seem to be something…..otherworldly.’

-

He was meditating when he had felt something strange break through his barrier and approach the majestic tree.

Whatever it was, he didn't feel the need to open his eyes still as he had encountered situations like this before.

That was until he felt the otherworldly energy coming off the strange person.

Yet he didn't open his eyes to keep face and show confidence.

His interest still lingering, he proudly introduced himself.

‘I am the vessel of Garuda!’

‘Identify yourself otherworldly being’

“……”

The being did not respond.

‘A shy one you are….’

Suddenly, he heard a voice invade his head

‘I…..have no 'name’ '

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

This made him finally open his eyes and take a look at him.

An entity that was like nothing he had seen; pitch-black, with eyes and a vertical eye-like structure on his forehead of a color he had never seen.

His eyes widened in surprise and a crazy smile was seen on his face.

‘I haven't seen anything like you ever in my life. I knew you were someone strange.....but to think I would ever see someone like you.’

‘What are you!?’

“……”

‘I don't know what I am…..’

‘Tell me, what am I?’

He was perplexed.

He didn’t know what to expect, but the strange assertiveness of the being surprised him.

‘You…..you do not know what you are?..’

The strange being slowly nodded his head

‘Well….that's not the strangest thing right now I guess’

‘Oh Garuda! Why would you make me encounter someone like this?…perhaps you want me to help him?..’ he thought to himself

‘Then tell me this, how did you find me? It didn't seem like you stumbled upon me by accident’

‘I listened to my body's instinct and followed the……feeling that you gave off’

‘Hmmm, it seems he can sense Ajna chakra. It takes countless decades or even centuries to open their third eye and very few have mastered that ability. To think someone who doesn’t even have harmony with his body and hasn’t found himself yet would have that ability.’

He was deciding what action to take next when suddenly he felt intruders enter his illusion that he had placed before the barrier……….

-

Araya was sure about it.

Those odd bumps on the ground were graves, and there were bodies in them.

She took off and ran as fast as she could towards her village to report this terrifying incident.

Her abnormal physical abilities and stamina helped in her rush.

She didn't want to think of it, but it couldn't be helped.

Her discovery of dead bodies was too coincidental with the missing of Randy and the others. The only comforting fact was that the number of bodies outnumbered Randy's hunting team.

As she reached her mother saw Araya gasp for air.

‘What going on? It's been way too long. I was worried something had happened to you too.’

Her mother's concern was clearly shown in her voice

She would normally say an excuse that she got distracted by some Barn owls or some other wildlife, but that was not the case this time.

‘I….I found graves of people by the lakeside…near one of my secret spots….’

She had to gasp for air in between talking.

‘G-Graves….’

‘No there's no way……Randy….’

Her mother had realized it too.

It was too much of a coincidence.

'Ma, calm down. We cannot be sure it’s their bodies. Besides, there were more graves than the members in uncle Randy’s team.’

She only used Ma to address her mother when they talked about something important.

‘Oh! Ok…ok……’

Her mother seemed to regain some of her composure.

‘Let’s go, we have to inform the others and also send someone to investigate the bodies.’

She and her mother walked up to the large bell on the porch of Randy's house which he had used to gather up everyone in the village for meetings and emergencies and rang it loudly.

Most of them who were cooped up in their houses came out with faces of hope, only to be disappointed.

They were all expecting Randy, as that was his signature bell.

They tried to not show their disappointment, but it was still obvious.

‘Huh?…why was molly the one who rang the bell.’

One of her neighbors questioned to himself loudly.

However, this did not affect Araya and her mother. In fact, this much was expected.

As most of them had arrived, her mother addressed the crowd.

‘Everyone! I am going to be straightforward with you, I have some news for you all. Try not to come into any conclusions while I say it.’

‘Araya, while going to collect water for us had visited her favorite lakeside spot.’

‘There.....she saw graves!’

Hushed voices appeared.

‘Graves?…isn't that too coincidental with the disappearance of Randy…’

‘No way…..’

‘As I said before, don't jump to conclusions. I am not finished.’

‘There were more graves than Randy's team’

‘But….we cannot still rule out the possibility....’
