In a log house that was situated near the east border of the garudan forest, a child looked out of the window into the starry sky and the giant full moon which seemed to dominate the night sky and light up the world. Her name was Araya and she and her mother were both refugees of war that had to escape amila; their former country because of the war of the three nations. Her father had died in the war and that is when they knew they had to leave the place.
Compared to their former lifestyle which was filled with anxiety, starvation, and grief caused by the war, their new home was a paradise that drastically increased their quality of life.
While admiring the night sky she saw a bright reddish-orange object fall from the sky leaving a reddish trail behind it. She remembered her mother had called it shooting stars and that if you made a wish while it was falling then the wish would come true.
She quickly closed her eyes and wished like she was praying,
"My wish is that would one day mom would let me explore the world and let me see the various nations beyond the forest".
Araya, while she was born in amila of the three nations, had few memories of the place and had only heard about the various nations beyond the forest from her mother's stories.
This had created an adventurous spirit in her from when she was young and had always nagged her mother to at least show her some parts of the unexplored forest but she was 14 and mature enough to know to not make any rash and stupid decisions.
After wishing she continued to observe the shooting star, and to her astonishment, It had become smaller but was heading close to her secret lakeside spot where she hid from her mother when she was scolded or when she was sad.
Unfortunately, the giant trees obscured her vision and she didn't get to see what happened to that shooting star as it fell to her secret spot near the pond. She had never heard of such strange shooting stars and didn't know about meteors and thought that she had made a discovery.
Araya decided to keep this as her secret and decided not to tell her mother. She suppressed her urge to go out now and find it and decided to check it out the next day as it had already become late in the night.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
A blackish slime-like substance with a cyan hue lay on the sparse grass near a pond.
Emptiness and silence.
That's all 'it' felt right now.
‘It’ was simply acting on its instincts till now. The body was suppressing the consciousness of the body for protecting itself; the same instincts which also had caused it to turn itself into a slime form to reduce damage from falling. The consciousness and the body were like 2 separate entities.
Having the foreboding sense of danger gone, the body slowly permitted the consciousness to seep into it; its existence finally being half complete. As the consciousness took over the body, the black slime-like substance started to merge- forming a body like one from its memories; the form it took before.
It had regained consciousness once before but it did not last long and the body did not deem the consciousness fit enough to lead the body to safety as it encountered the pirates, thus only having enough time to create a body based on its memories.
while the black slime was merging, the cyan hue quickly moved around the body till it found a spot and formed crystal eyes and some went another way and formed a vertical eye-like crystal on its forehead.
For the first time, the consciousness had regained full control of the body. Its memories were hazy and only had less than a quarter of its memories and held some clues to what he was before he became like what he was now. According to his memories of his past 'life’, he was a human boy and lived in a quiet and serene village. He had a few recollections of his family and friends but he did not feel any sadness for missing his parents not happiness for being still alive, almost like he did not have emotions. It only created a sense of dissatisfaction because of his incompleteness.
He was formed.
He looked around as his eyes sparkled out of curiosity, and was taken aback by what he saw. He was like a newborn baby. Everything he saw looked new while some things he had little recollections of. Soon he was fascinated by every simple thing and some part of him seemed to come alive. Still, something was missing. It recollected from its memories, the ability to hear and smell, taste and touch. It managed to recover all the main 5 senses and was taken aback even more.
He walked up to a tree and looked above as he was impressed by the giant branches and the uncountable amount of leaves on it and also saw the giant blue moon dominating the endless sky.
It was a full moon.
However, he was distracted again as he looked around and saw a bunch of vanda orchids. He picked one and smelt the sweet scent of the flower, all the while hearing the hoots of owls, the tweets of a few nightbirds, and the chirps of critters and the howls of unknown wild creatures in the distance.
He seemed to experience something otherworldly, something completely out of its understanding.
Hours passed by as he spent his time appreciating every little smell, sound, and touch.
After walking for a while he saw his reflection in the pond. Although had a hunch of what he looked like, he was still surprised to see his pitch-black body which seemed to blend with night, his 2 crystal-like cyan eyes with and the mysterious third eye like vertical crystal on its forehead gave him a unique appearance.
He took a few minutes to come into acceptance of his present body and appearance.
Just as he was about to turn around he saw a fawn walk over slowly and started drinking water as it did not notice him.
This was his first time he saw a living creature other than nightbirds and critters so he was fascinated by it and was about to approach it as he saw something strange......
There was a pair of blood red eyes behind it....
