The morning brought with it clarity and Aries began to question his own sanity. Had he perhaps imagined it all due to his sensitivity regarding that commoner boy? His instincts told him not but he had been second guessing all his decisions lately so this brought no measure of comfort. There was only one way to be sure other than revealing his cards to his uncle who was a slippery snake. Even the artifact was probably given because it was judged to be useless to the man.

"Status"

He murmured and the bright translucent screen appeared before him. He skipped over all the useless information and focused on his skills. He had always possessed a locked skill called "Pestilence" that no one could tell him the meaning of. There was also phantom steps and shadow puppet the two skills he had earned with his dark mage class, but now he noticed a new skill was indeed there.

"Forsight"

It was that word again that offered very little clues into what it actually did but it was active at least. That was at least part confirmation that he wasn't crazy, but how could he be sure that the events of the dream would come true if he acted the way he had in the past?

It was better to be safe than dead he decided as he huddled back under the warm covers. He was supposed to leave the Academy and go on a date with his fiancé today but according to his dream, if he went things would go badly for him. Not only would Selena bring that baboon along, but she would also humiliate him infront of everyone. Although the Guilds weren't like the noble families, the powerful noble families that owned guilds were like Apex Predators in this world. As the son of a top predator, being humiliated by a boy with no connections was something that was hard to recover from. Therefore, although he cared for Selena more than was healthy, his life and comfort would always be more important to him than anything else. Watching oneself dismembered by monsters really brought things into perspective.

"I'll just sleep in"

He decided yawning widely before rolling over and promptly falling asleep. The shadow that watched him at the request of his Uncle was confused as she watched the sleeping boy. She exchanged glances with her partner who shook his head silently communicating his own confusion. In the end they would have to report that instead of showing off the artifact and baiting the commoner boy as was expected, the young master had decided to sleep in. Her eyes filled with fear just thinking about it but just as expected she kept watch until the Master summoned them back.

Due to his recent reclusive habits it took Aries some time to notice the changes in his body. The first thing was that he noticed the people watching his every move, almost as if could sense them just moments before they appeared in his room. He was also able to dodge a maid coming around the corner before he even saw her. It prevented an almost catastrophic accident given the precious vials of potion she was transporting, but unless he was now psychic he had no way of explaining any of it.

That's wasn't all that changed, and it didn't go unnoticed by the members of his family or the staff. By simply idling around the house for the remainder of the vacation, a rumour was spread that Serena Winterfell had broken the heart of Aries Nightshade. He almost died from asphyxiation from choking on his breakfast when he saw the front page article. He glowered at it all day before deciding on his next course of action, one that no one saw coming.
