On the outskirts of London, an old and barren building remained through the passing of history after a thousand years.
Now boarded by a futuristic environment of flying cars, levitating buildings and artificial sunshine, this abandoned building remained as a historical relic through the ages, yet the UK government, one of the very few remaining powerhouses of the world, form any good reasons, refused to maintain it or give it an appropriate refurbish.
Yet they also didn't get rid of it.
Vagrants and wretched ones found asylum at its doors, the surface of the earth was now the home of the poor, whereas the flying buildings housed the rich and prestigious.
None willing to step half a foot inside those doors.
In the shining metropolis of aerial London, just in the middle of the buildings conforming to the now prestigious new Westminster, the massive golden statue of a beautiful woman with a royal cape stood with her fist high, being constantly shined upon by the many buildings, as if she was never fated to be shrouded in darkness.
She was the light.
The antique building of the Protestant Knights, the Hellsing Organisation, however, is shrouded with nothing but darkness.
The most haunted place in all of England and presumably the whole world.
Any vagrant willing to do so much as to sleep underneath its huge doors could already be called a national hero with balls of steel, but the despair and need for a cosy roof against the England traditional rain do that to a man, woman or even a child.
Stories of ghosts and vampires were commonplace in this building, what nobody knew however was that inside this building an entity still existed, forgotten through the shelves of history books.
His time had long passed and the young generation stood up to face the worldly issues of the Earth.
Yet none could match his power.
The now forsaken Royal Family only left one order to the next generations a thousand years ago.
"Don't touch that mansion."
This golden rule was sealed in blood, never to be forgotten.
Just like many of the stupid rules in the United Kingdom's constitution, this mansion was prohibited to touch, destroy and even step into, for no apparent reason.
The entity still living inside this mansion, however, paid little concern.
Sitting on a stone throne a figure with blood-red deteriorated garments sat.
Power is incalculable. Time is unnecessary.
The red figure would move his hand and pick a glass of blood-red wine from his side, years would pass before this monster took a sip of his wine.
The Monster of Hellsing, the vampire Alucard. Last remaining member of the Protestant Knights, guardians of England and the Royal Family.
Alucard sat on his faux throne, by his side, on a stone table rested a bottle of wine that would never finish, but never sate.
Together with another silver object.
And of course, two now rusted big guns.
Alucard's mind was empty, hundreds of years of watching the same figures in his mind led to nothing, and hundreds of years of sipping wine achieved nothing.
It had been so long, yet it felt like everything happened yesterday.
His master and confidante, Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, died of old age, leaving behind her a prosperous organisation that was to fall with the passage of years, its existence no longer holding a purpose.
His disciple and later deepest lover, his most successful creation, Nosferatu Seras Victoria also died, taking her own life, not able to tolerate the passage of time and the weight of immortality.
Her existence and achievements lead her to be recorded in history as a national hero of the United Kingdom, making this country one of the peak powerhouses of modern times, despite her death hundreds of years ago, younger generations followed her example and momentum.
Now, her statue floated indefinitely in the centre of New Westminster, the political centre of a country whose size covered all of Europe.
Her mysterious death came as a shock not only for English and Britons but for the whole world. The hero was dead, and upon the lack of light, darkness shall advance forth.
Be it as it may, her departure left him in loneliness once again... One that he was very much used to. If having millions of lives inside of himself counted as being alone.
After getting rid of the millions of souls inside his body only to control his omnipresence, Alucard was once again compelled to kill through the thousands of years humanity fought itself for conquest.
Times changed but human nature didn't. So slaughter he would.
Two major wars and he once again had millions of souls inside of himself, this time, however, he was able to recognise himself without having to get rid of them.
Just like a prisoner could get hundreds of lifetime sentences depending on how many people that person murdered.
Alucard was now also hundreds of times immortal, not being able to end his own life even if he wanted to.
As paradoxical as it sounded, being nowhere, wasn't equal to being dead.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
After Seras decided to finally end her suffering by selfishly ending her own life, what awaited Alucard were hundreds of years of sitting on his throne, guarding the place that was once his master's precious work.
Life wasn't painful, life was just life just as death was just death.
Life, Death, Time... Those concepts didn't apply to the Count.
The only good thing that happened in a while was that he was able to retrieve his dog's soul, Baskerville, out of three million souls, that was the only one that truly pained him.
For him years were seconds, seconds were ages, ages were existence. The count remained still, waiting until his mouth would feel dry to sip some more... Thinking about the last person to ever make him company, or well, the person before Andrew and Karen... and Jessie... Vagrants, drunkards, challengers, people incapable of fearing even the laws of their country, until they caught glimpse of his shadow.
But never mind them, they just joined the millions of souls inside of him, surely to fight for him in the future even if with timber sticks and broken bottles.
The last creature to ever make his company, his beloved disciple, Seras...
Just as he was about to think of his last lover for the uncountable time after hundreds of years, his omnipresent senses were suddenly shut down...
After consuming Schrodinger a thousand years ago, Alucard gradually grew adept at the use of his omnipresence.
His omnipresence allowed him to be everywhere and nowhere within a range of a hundred kilometres, farther than that, he wasn't yet strong enough and capable of processing everything within his mind.
But at this particular moment, his hundred of kilometres sense had shrieked, to only this room.
Alucard frowned at the occurrence, 'What is going on?' this wasn't within his daily hundreds of years lasting script.
Could it be some kind of futuristic weapon humans developed? That can't be. London had been quiet just before his senses were cut. Could that go reach farther than a hundred kilometres? that would be too much of a coincidence.
*WOOSH!*
The gate leading inside his throne room started to shine through the edges out of nowhere.
*CLICK*
The doorknob twisted slowly until the old door opened slowly grinding due to the rust, not having been opened in a long while.
On the other side, great brightness shone on this light-forsaken place, making Alucard instinctively cover his eyes.
It had been hundreds of years since the last time he saw light directly from his very vampiric eyes.
*Tap*
*Tap*
Slow steps resounded as someone walked inside the room from outside.
Alucard sensed it was an old man in very old white garments that covered his whole body.
Moving his hand away the two locked eyes as shining pink met golden.
As much as Alucard was tempted to simply swallow that person right where he stood, the incident regarding his senses wasn't common, and therefore this old man and that incident were likely related matters.
"Who are you?" His mature and inhumane voice asked coldly, intending to intimidate whoever it was as his eyes morphed into red-slitted ones.
The elderly and humble-looking man glanced toward Alucard with a smile.
"You can call me God." He answered simply with his impassive voice.
...
...
Silence reigned in the place for a few moments before Alucard realised the old man was talking seriously.
What followed was the natural laughter of the Vampire King.
"Hahahahahahahaha!!!"
"Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!"
His eyes transformed back into his pink-slitted ones as he tore in laughter.
His sense of humour was so rusted by the centuries that even farting passing house fly would take his intestines out in a good laugh.
Alucard's macabre laughter resounded as he clutched his stomach hardly.
The 'God's answer was to simply show a smile and wait for Alucard to finish his fit.
The vampire, however, seemed as if he just heard the best joke of his immortal life and kept laughing for a full ten minutes.
During that time 'God' kept smiling.
"Hahaha!! What a nice joke mortal, I hadn't heard like that ever since Seras vomited and shit herself at the same time after eating rotten shrimps... Since you made me laugh like this, I'll let you go back and won't eat you~ Scram!" Alucard regained his composure and his hat that fell together with his laughter repositioned itself above his head, he really didn't want to kill this funny old man.
'God' sighed and walked around, inspecting the place.
"A few thousand years old nosferatu like you can live in this plane, Count. Why wouldn't a God such as myself?" God kept walking around the throne room, though there wasn't really much to see...
His words stopped Alucard's funny behaviour in its tracks as his eyes furrowed, returning to their red tonality.
"You know who I am old man? Then how come you are still here... Aren't you afraid to become my puppy's shit?" A crimson horrid hound with dozens of eyes around his body manifested behind Alucard and preyed on the elderly man unashamedly, waiting desperately for Alucard's will to be transmitted so that he could eat those old bones!
"Of course, I know who you are, I have been watching you for the last thousands of years... Quite the individual, although your methods are questionable, I deem you a hero nonetheless even taking out that magnificent woman you groomed. The futuristic sight and humanity's hope before us is the result of your decisions... yours, your master's and even your lover's or should I call her your disciple? Quite the complicated relationship~" The elderly man walked back to the front of the door and stood there, glancing at Alucard's way.
Alucard remained silent, awaiting this old man to state his intentions... No one could possibly know so much about him a thousand years after... the man in front of him was either a God as he stated or a stalking vampire... And the latter didn't seem likely nor appealing...
"I want to offer you a second chance Count, this place is no longer suitable for you."
"Are you going to send me through reincarnation or something? I don't know if you noticed or not, but I'm not dead. No, I'm far from dead, I couldn't be any more alive!" Alucard stood up and shouted with an almost despaired voice!
"I know, I don't intend to do anything like that, it will be a lot more simple Count, to think you would reach this level where even I can't kill you..." the old man sighed and turned around
Grabbing the silver knob of the door, he caressed it softly, "If you want to accept this gift of mine, then cross this gate, Count. I hope you will find what you're looking for."
God crossed the door, disappearing into the shining light and leaving it open.
Alucard glanced at the shining way beyond the door and frowned.
'I'm not looking for anything...'
In his mind appeared images of his beloved disciple once again, and feelings long foreign to him welled inside his cursed heart.
Love but also, hatred. A lot of hatred!
His body walked slowly and unconsciously to the door, his eyes remained glued to it, until he stood in front.
Glancing back he saw his throne, the place he had been sitting for centuries... on the side remained his pistols, his war companions, but something was missing, something he couldn't remember.
And finally, on the throne, sat with his legs crossed and arms on his lap like always, a phantom image of himself, thousands of red eyes marred the darkness behind him.
Those eyes looked at him deeply together with his phantom's, almost pushing him forward.
This mansion belonged to his master, Integra... her hard work.
If he left, vagrants would journey the passages, piss on the corners, sleep underneath the tables, and taint her effort.
His phantom image, as if reading his mind, responded by moving its lips, not letting out a word.
'She's dead.'
This is also the place where he remembered his dear traitorous friend, Bernard.
'He's dead.'
The place where he and his beloved disciple and Draculine spent most of their time, training her, raising her, advising her, consoling her, making love to her... Sucking her blood, letting her suck his...
His phantom grit its teeth but still answered dutifully.
'She's dead!'
Yes.
They're all dead... Yet here I am.
...
...
Fuck this mansion.
His phantom smiled for the last of times as Alucard turned around towards the gate.
"The Bird of Hermes is my name..."
Walking forward inside the shining light, Alucard left this light forsaken room, leaving only the light of the edges of the door, that would certainly stop shining leaving it in its original darkness.
What remained of the legendary vampire Alucard were two massive rusted guns and a cup of wine.
