The Ryan looked at the weapon give to him. He took it out and could not help but admire the blade. It was similar to his own, only more sleek. He traced his finger along its edge and felt how sharp it was. He then swung it a few times with one hand and nodded in satisfaction.
‘This might even be better than my own sword’ he thought regretfully.
Meanwhile, the Kenman reached the door and swung it open with force. He stepped outside and it was silent for a full five seconds, before knives and arrows rained down on him.
He dodged those that he could and would hit or snap in two any that he couldn’t with his own sword. Then, he suddenly jumped and flew through the air toward the trees. The second that he land there, a few corpses fell to the ground with their throat cut. The Kenman then dropped to the ground and rushed to the next targets. He expertly dodged any weapon coming his way and would jump into the trees, as if knowing where everyone was hiding.
Desperately, one of the Scavengers has even activated one of the magic-cancelling devices, but it was easily crushed by the Kenman. He, who didn’t even use any spells during his fights was unaffected by the device, but he knew that it could cause a headache to those more proficient in it.
‘My little fawn already has a headache as it is’ he thought with a frown and stomped his foot on the device, breaking it into pieces.
After a few more Scavengers fell, another idea came to his mind.
‘Should I keep a few of them alive? To ask a few things… Like how they got the devices and how many of them are left’ he then decided with a nod and rushed to his next target.
“...”
“...”
“...”
“So…” Klyran said not able to fully understand the situation, “Do we just wait here?” he asked his friend.
While the Kenman went on a rampage and destroyed anyone in his way, the two of them were left at the entrance of the mansion.
“He said to take care of those who manage to approach us, by slipping past him, but I think only a true idiot will run toward him and us, rather than away” Aldryn said with a blank face.
“That guy is a monster” the fox Thrae then commented and shielded further back into the blonde’s mind.
“I’m so glad that he’s on our side” the blonde only nodded.
“And I am so glad that he never actually snapped and tried to kill you” the fox then voiced out, which caused its host to frown.

‘Does he really expects me to just sit here and do nothing’ Klyran’s hand then twitched to stroke his damaged horn, ‘Like hell’ his eyes flashed darkly.
In that moment, the Ryan also darted toward the trees. He didn’t hesitate and activated the Eyes of Teria. He saw the location of all the Scavengers by the clumps of magic that gathered around their bodies. With a growl, Klyran took out the sword given to him by the Kenman and swung it. The clash of metal against metal resonated.
‘Those bastards took a piece of my horn’ the Ryan growled to himself, ‘I will make sure to take a piece of their heard for this.’
For a Ryan, the horns were a source of pride. They represented their strength and vitality. Broken horns often meant for other of his kin a sign of weakness, either in their bodies or in their ability to fight. While Klyran was born without a Harth, he still took pride in his horns. They represent his lineage and the strong blood that coursed through his veins. It was his only source of pride back home, and those humans ruined it.
The first Scavenger that the Ryan encountered also wielded a sword. Their blades clashed with a deafening sound, but neither backed down.
‘He made it look so easy’ Klyran glanced at the Kenman, who fought ten Scavengers at the same time and looked like he was winning.
Gripping his blade tighter, the brown flickering in the Ryan’s eyes moved rapidly. The Eyes of Teria were constantly active, putting a burden on his already tired mind. A notification appeared, a window that Klyran was familiar with, only its content this time was a first.
[Congratulations! You have been recognized by the creator of Eyes of Teria]
[Congratulations! You have gained the qualification for Eyes of Teria]
[Eyes of Teria Skill Progression: 0.05%]
‘What the…’ Klyran thought for a moment, but the next attack snapped him out of it.
‘I’ll check it later’ he decided and concentrated again on the battle.
Meanwhile, Aldryn was watching the scene. He was thorn regarding what he should do.
“We should go and help them” he told the fox and made a step forward.
“Or you could stay here and try out the new skill that Ylvis so kindly gave you” the Thrae supplied, “Those two look like they are doing fine and this is the perfect moment to test out the new skill”
Those words made the blonde take a step back and frown at his spear.
“I don’t have much magic though” he argued and took a step forward again.
“It’s your choice really. Either stay here and try out the skill, or go there and fight using physical force, either is fine by me” the fox simply shrugged.
The consonant movement backward and forward made the apostle look strange.
“What are you doing?” another voice suddenly asked, causing the blonde to jump out of his skin.
“I’m thinking” he the scoffed, noticing that it was only the Kenman.
“This guy…” Aldryn simply told the fox in his mind with a jealous face, “He fought so many people and there isn’t even a single drop of blood on his clothes. He didn’t even broke a sweat”, while speaking in his mind his narrowed eyes were looking at the impeccable clothes, making the Kenman raise one of his eyebrows.
“Yeah…” the Thrae nodded in his head, “Doesn’t seem out of breath either” it taunted the blonde then, causing the other to huff.
“Why do you look like you were just on a stroll and not in a fight?” he then asked the Kenman, causing the other man to chuckle and shake his head.
‘What a child’ the Kenman thought amused, while watching Klyran and the movement of the other Scavengers from the corner of his eyes.
“And to answer your question… I have this new skill that I never tried before… But its tied to my magic so I’m not sure if I should try to use it, or join the fight. Or if it will completely drain the little magic that I have and leave me vulnerable” Aldryn then explained, twisting his fingers.
“A skill?” the Kenman frowned then.
‘Is this a playground for him?’ he wondered and then looked at the other Scavengers who were hesitating to attack him and didn’t even bother to help their comrade who was fighting with the young Ryan.
‘It might as well be I guess’ he then sighed.
“Try the skill if you want and see what happens. I’ll be right here so you won’t get kidnapped” the Kenman then shook his head and patted the blonde like he would a dog.
The kind action and words shocked the oracle, ‘This guy… Was he hit in the head during the fight?’.
After their small conversation, the Kenman turned around and sprinted again. The blonde decided to try out the spell, knowing that this was the perfect stage for it. He took his spear and tried to remember what Ylvis told him.
“I managed to set a skill on the spear. Usually, I could tell you if it’s of a good quality or not… But unfortunately… This is a supporting type of skill… Which isn’t necessary a bad thing” Ylvis told him hurriedly with a panicked face at seeing the younger apostle’s disappointment, “Support type skills are rare… This one apparently grants some Defence to you and your allies, thought we will only know how good it it after you use it.”
The explanation faded from his mind then and with a deep breath, Aldyn rotated the Spear in his hand and then struck it into the ground.
“Light Shield” the blonde said and felt his magic drain a bit.
