Chapter 2 dungeon miasma

Every dungeon has dungeon miasma which automatically transforms any creature entering the dungeon into dungeon creature. The difficulty of conversion depends upon the level and sapience of the species. This is the reason that people below the age of 15 are not allowed to enter dungeon as it is the age they reach “True sapience” which gives high miasma resistance per level, making the conversion nearly impossible unless in presence of high-density miasma.

Curious about the tasks I tried to enter the stage 2 and 3 of the task. But a prompt came telling me that I cannot proceed unless I complete the stage 1 task.

Annoyed of not being given any information I entered the stage 1 task causing a warning in bright red to appear in front of me.

As it is the dungeon’s first time receiving any transmission of knowledge this has been issued to warn the dungeon against receiving any knowledge when feeling a strain in the mind. This strain can manifest as a headache, nausea, etc.

As I tried to comprehend the message an influx of information suddenly came into my mind giving me the required information about the miasma and instructions about how to proceed with the task.

Apparently, the dungeon miasma exists in the form of mist throughout the dungeon and it is the range of domain of the dungeon. It is also required to grow the dungeon through various tiers and floors.

As a dungeon core I can produce mana but, I require the help of the miasma to give life to the various creatures that I will produce. The miasma is also the reason that the edges of the dungeons are rocklike.

As I went through this information, I realized that a crucial piece of knowledge is missing

“What the hell is a dungeon??!!”

I spoke out loud to hoping that something would answer my question while trying to find the source of the information.

It seems that the system would not answer my queries.

Disappointed I went back to my task. Although the system sent me instructions on the task but it did not tell me why I should do as told by the system. When I inquired further it told me to proceed to tier 0 stage to unlock further information. So I decided to follow the instructions of the system.

First, I entered the overview mode of the core room and tried to sense the miasma. Once I succeeded, I returned to the core view and sensed the miasma inside the core. The miasma seemed to make up my core while most of it is concentrated at the edge of the core. It can be said opposite for mana as it is concentrated at the center of the core forming a pool of mana.

I carefully took out some miasma from the top and bottom of the core and using the free-floating miasma I started to grow like a tree towards the bottom and top of the core room. This was a slow process as I had to wait for the miasma in the room to recover before I could proceed.

Slowly time passed I don’t know that whether a day, a month or a year has passed, but the tendrils finally reached the rock of the cave and sank into it. If someone was in the core room he would see two trees growing from a crystals and reaching the cave.

Once the miasma tree was secured to the rock I started pumping mana through them. This mana using the miasma formed the dungeon node which took the shape of an oval stone. As I pumped mana into them they grew till they reached thrice the size of my core and stopped growing.

As I passed Mana passed through them the stone started releasing mana. As this mana was released I realized my control over the room started increasing as this mana passed through this area. Once the mana released from both the nodes met the nodes started resonating with each other and the growth speed of the domain drastically increased. At the same time the tendrils of the miasma vines grew from the node till they covered the rock of the occupied domain.

Interestingly the vines that grew at first were detached the miasma tree but soon merges into it even though originating from the node. Soon the domain covered the whole core room.

so now what should I do??

I can make the domain of minimum size or increase the size to the maximum.

But if I make it the largest size then the dungeon rock will be the weakest. But I do not want that what if some creature comes into the room because of weak rocks!!

Suddenly I realized something

Wait what are creatures??

Never mind, I should make the domain of the minimum size as only then the rocks are at the strongest.

With this decision made I started increasing the dungeon room size to reach the minimum amount. This was easy as I just had to release the mana into the surrounding earth and feed the node vines miasma with the intent to increase the size. This caused to room to expand as the mana earth were absorbed by the vines to slowly increase the room size and expand the dungeon rocks.

This is taking too much time.

Well not that I can tell the time. How long have I been here.

I continued to talk to myself as the room grew and reached the minimum requirement. Once it reached that stage the vines started to absorb mana and miasma and increased in size and density. Soon they started to look like a net underneath the rocks.

Once the vines reached maturity, they started releasing mana into the rocks. This was much more mana consuming as I had to stop many times to recover my mana.

By the end of this transformation the rocks started to have a metallic sheen and became harder that iron.

Well this was the most miasma consuming ever. My miasma has been reduced by nearly one-fourth. Only good thing is that my control over the room has increased. I feel that I can now mold the room to as my requirement.

When the final rock transformed, they started releasing miasma into the room. This filled the nearly empty room with miasma, which was also absorbed by my miasma trees. Using this miasma they grew in diameter and the number of branches. While before they looked like thin twigs with frayed ends, now they are nearly equal to my core in diameter, while the branches snaked along the vines joining and separating along the lines and covering the room making the net more impenetrable. When this ended a prompt appeared in front of me.
