Chapter 7

*Present*

“So you’re Jae-Hoon, huh?”

"Yes." Jae-Hoon replied.

Upon seeing Jae-Hoon for the first time, Kang Dae-Hyun instantly knew that he is the real deal. Unfazed even when surrounded by numerous enemy. Dae-Hyun, with his extensive experience in the business, recognized that having such an attitude meant Jae-Hoon had ended countless lives and faced even more significant dangers. It seemed as though Jae-Hoon considered them not worth his time at all.

“Is this a lie? How do you know him, and why are you here?” Chang Min-Ho questioned.

“I received a call from him, claiming he knows who’s the rat leaking our clan’s operations. He asked me to come here. So, it’s really you, old hag. Actually, without his information, the Hwang Clan already suspected you were the one ratting on us. But we lacked evidence, though. We could have disposed of you long ago, but acting recklessly would bring criticism from other clans. In our line of work, professionalism is a must,” Dae-Hyun responded.

Panicking, Chang Min-Ho pleaded, “No, sir, please hear me out. I can explain thi-”

“Enough! I’ve seen everything!” Kang Dae-Hyun shouted.

With just a few words, the air turned cold, emphasizing Dae-Hyun’s formidable presence. Raised in the unforgiving alleys of Seoul, he earned a reputation for brutality. His strength drew the attention of the Hwang Clan’s leadership, and his unwavering loyalty, combined with a penchant for ruthless power, swiftly elevated him to the position of Lieutenant for the clan. Dae-Hyun’s background narrates a tale of darkness, marked by an unrelenting pursuit of power where mercy was nonexistent. His ascent within the Hwang Clan was fueled by a willingness to eliminate opposition with cold brutality, instilling fear in the underworld with his name.

“Please, sir, forgive me,” Chang Min-Ho pleaded, kneeling.

“Stop! You know more than anyone that in this business, there are lines you can’t cross.”

Faced with imminent danger, Chang Min-Ho desperately explored alternative routes for escape. Eliminating Kang Dae-Hyun was swiftly discarded as an option, well aware that such an act would undoubtedly incur the wrath of the Hwang Clan. Peaceful escape also appeared implausible, given Dae-Hyun’s overpowering might – a force too great for their group of 30. Understanding the sheer danger posed by each member of the 5 Clan, Chang Min-Ho knew they needed at least a hundred men to stand a chance. The chilling memory of Dae-Hyun singlehandedly annihilating an entire rival gang years ago amplified the pressure on Chang Min-Ho. While grappling with these limited choices:

"But I'll grant you another chance," Kang Dae-Hyun declared, locking eyes with Jae-Hoon. "You all can leave here alive if you manage to kill this man."

Initially, Dae-Hyun want to dealt with all of them and reporting back to the clan. However, he opted for a more entertaining approach, wanting to gauge Jae-Hoon's skills.

Chang Min-Ho's eyes lit up with shock at this unexpected lifeline.

"Is that true? You won't go back on your word?" Chang Min-Ho sought confirmation.

"You have my word," Dae-Hyun affirmed.

Eyeing Jae-Hoon, he continued, "Now, show me why we should consider bringing you into our clan."

Jae-Hoon smirk, while glancing at Chang Min-Ho, he replied, "Come."

“Don’t take it to heart; you brought this upon yourself. Attack!” shouted Chang Min, signaling his men to move in.

30 of his men, divided into three groups and armed with knives, circled Jae-Hoon, thinking they could deal with him with only ten people.

Remaining calm despite being surrounded, Jae-Hoon sensed Kang Dae-Hyun's intention. He chose not to divulge everything and intended to reveal only a glimpse of his combat prowess.

And so, the attack began.

Facing ten enemies one by one, Jae-Hoon's movements were a symphony of precision and brutality. As the first assailant charged, he smoothly sidestepped the attack, disarming the enemy with a swift twist of the wrist. Seizing control of the knife, the blade found its mark in the enemy’s throat, silencing any further resistance.

The second opponent approached cautiously, but Jae-Hoon's quick reflexes allowed him to evade the knife thrust effortlessly. With a calculated spin, he delivered a powerful roundhouse kick, knocking the assailant to the ground. Jae-Hoon then drove the knife through the enemy's chest, ensuring a swift and decisive end.

As the third adversary lunged forward, Jae-Hoon showcased his mastery of close-quarters combat. A series of lightning-fast strikes disarmed the opponent, leaving him defenseless. With a final, precise thrust, he dispatched the third foe, the blade finding its way into his heart.

This deadly dance continued, each enemy meeting their demise in a unique display of Jae-Hoon's combat prowess. Spins, flips, and expertly timed strikes characterized his movements, creating a seamless and relentless assault on his opponents. The knives became extensions of his own lethal hands, allowing him to fluidly transition from one foe to the next.

By the time the tenth enemy approached, Jae-Hoon had honed his deadly rhythm. With a combination of swift parries and calculated counters, he disarmed the assailant and incapacitated them with a single, decisive strike. The floor was stained with blood, creating a gruesome and macabre tapestry that bore witness to Jae-Hoon's lethal ballet of blades.

The silence hung heavily over the battlefield, punctuated only by the lifeless forms of the defeated enemies. Jae-Hoon stood amidst the fallen, and everyone inside the warehouse was rendered speechless by the scene that unfolded before them.

Chang Min-Ho and his men, wide-eyed and trembling, couldn't fathom the brutal reality unfolding. In a mere 40 seconds, Jae-Hoon effortlessly dismantled their first group without breaking a sweat.

Chang Min-Ho: “This… This is impossible! Are you even human?”

Kang Dae-Hyun muttered, "What a monster."

Jae-Hoon, clad in all black attire, his long-sleeved turtleneck shirt stained with the blood of his enemies. The amount of blood was so overwhelming that at first glance, others might mistake him for a demon in human form. Amid the silence, Jae-Hoon’s gaze fixed on Chang Min-Ho and his remaining men.

"Are you planning to attack, or should I make my way over there?"
