The world was so black, nothing could be felt or seen by Aaron, almost as if he was in a void of some sort, lack of all things and nothing but a malevolent force meant to devour everything it touched, making it join along in the absence of light.
Then he felt a sharp pain as his sense of feeling returned to him. He heard a male voice in what seemed like a far distance away, not being able to understand a word being said by him. That was until of course him being smacked across the face, causing a sharp pain to be sent directly into his brain.
He let out yelp to the slap and rubbed his cheek, still feeling the slap as if it just happened. “Kid are you okay?” The man from what he guessed was the person who spoke to him and then proceeded to smack his face, speaking in a concerned voice with a hint of fear.
Is gently shaking someone ever occurred to this person or was smacking his go to? “Yeah I’m fine, just a little discombobulated, that's all,” His forehead still hurt but his cheek was now at the forefront of his concerns as he kept rubbing it, beginning to open his eyes.
Green, there was a lot of green. Suspiciously so due to it being winter. Moving his head slightly to the left, pain throbbing through it as he did so and more green, now being grass and brown from the bark of trees that surrounded him. “I must have hit my head hard on that concrete, I'm seeing a forest with bright green leaves in the winter, and i'm seeing a forest in the city!”, he spoke as he began to close his eyes for a few seconds, rubbing them to make sure they were all right.
Aaron proceeded to open them once again, still seeing what he mentioned before, and this time with more clarity, seeing flowers that he had and had not seen before. “Yeah, I have no clue where we are or how we ended up here, I came just a jiffy before you showed up” he began to laugh as he explained what occurred “and then suddenly poof! You were there and laying on the grass.” Now that he listened to the man's voice again, he sounded British which was really strange.
“How long have I been laying on the ground for now?” he asked in a fearful manner. The man paused trying to remember, “Give or take...30 seconds…?”
“Then why did you smack me!” Aaron obviously is a little upset at the abrupt awakening done by the man. The man didn’t give him an answer and just laughed like it was no big deal at all, as if what he did was usual to him. A sigh was heard from Aaron as he slowly sat up, still a little dazed by the connection between his head and the concrete.
Confused and concussed, he looked around slowly, ignoring the pain his forehead would give, and assessed the situation. Forest, British man, head smash, and what seemed to be not Winter, bad day, really bad day. He sighed inwardly as that thought went through his mind and looked at the man.
He had black hair and brown eyes, and a sort of demeanor that was open and friendly in a way. Wearing Black jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, seeming to have been outside like himself before he got zapped here. “You seem to… Like Christmas a lot” the man half laughed as he saw Aaron’s christmas sweater with Rudolph on it.
“It was the only thing I had to warm me up so I decided to put it on” he replied and gave a scowl at the man. When he looked at the man though, he seemed to be holding back a laugh as he kept staring at his sweater and so Aaron could only sigh, knowing that no matter what he said would help the situation.
After a silently staring at the man who was on the brink of laughter, he hear a weird plop behind him and so he turned around but only saw someone running, too close, way too close, and as he stood there for a second not knowing what to do, they ran into them pummeling him right back to the floor which he so despised that the moment.
The guy, not being able to hold it in anymore, starting to die of laughter at what he just witnessed. Aaron groaned in the added pain he was now feeling and again sat up slowly. The person who ran into him was still laying down and groaning also from the abrupt stop, hitting the obstacle that was known as Aaron.
He looked over at the british man who was still dying of laughter almost to the brink of crying and could only just sigh heavily. Aaron looked over at the person, “Hey are you ok? Kind of…ran into me” he said with concern as the person was still laying down and so he tapped the person on the shoulder.
The person abruptly got up and said with a fenimen voice, “Where am I! I was in the middle of Los Ang--” She looked over at the wheezing British man and at Aaron “Who are you and what did you do to me!” This woman is not at all happy, which… is fair but I would rather not be the one whom she is angry at, “Hey, we are in the same situation as you, we just...appeared out of thin air.”
“Yeah he’s telling the truth, when he came here he fell face first onto the ground!” The British man stopped laughing and spoke but as he did he could hardly contain another spree of laughs, face turning red from the strain of forcing himself not to laugh.
She paused for a moment, looking between the British man and Aaron, back and forth in what seemed as trying to get a read on both of them to tell if they were lying or telling the truth. She paused for a brief second before nodding her head slowly and beginning to take in the surroundings that she found herself in.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
She had darker skin, and brown eyes that matched with it, seeming to have an almost dire look present in the pupils of her eyes. Her movement was sporadic as she looked around, quickly looking around before flicking her head to look in another direction. Her hair was cut short and colored deep black, only going down to her neck before ending.
When she began looking around, Aaron began to survey his surroundings to try to get a handle of where he suddenly appeared, against his will. They were located in thick forest of some sort, with trees clumped together making making it hard to see past it and the foliage did not help to gain any visibility of their surrounding past the clearing that they found themselves in,
Though something was a little wrong with this forest, almost unnatural in a way. Nothing seemed to be displaced in the forest, it was just Aarons intuition that told him that this was not realistic and that it seemed to be… mystical in nature. Something is out of place but at the same time not, almost as if it is too perfect? Like what you would expect in a standard fantasy or dream in a-
Another plop sounded behind him, interrupting his study of the woods. He winced, expecting to be hit somehow and someday at this point, slowly turning around and bracing his body for the worst. Though he only found a girl around his age, 17, standing there looking dazed and confused, scoping out the area.
The Brit stood up and looked at her with a “Welcome to the Forest, we hope you enjoyed your trip across the world to an unfamiliar place!”
She paused for a moment and thought, “Then take me back now, or I won't be the happiest person you ever met!” She began to stare daggers at the Brit, looking as threatening as possible, and if you looked closely at her, you could see some sort of pleading in her eyes. They were all just minding their own business, probably enjoying an early morning or in the case of the Brit an afternoon or evening, until they found themselves in this strange land. Their life has changed from normal to bizarre and Aaron had a feeling that it would only get more strange from here.
The girl had ginger hair like that of the early morning sunrise with the beams that would shoot across the sky and one could only bask in its glory. She had a pale face with freckles scattered all around, mostly just going across her nose and seemed to. The pleading in the girl's ocean blue eyes that he noticed gave Aaron the impression she was scared but had a fire in her eyes just like the fire in her hair.
“No we got… teleported here the same as you did, we have no clue what is happening like you, in a forest with no idea what to do.” Aaron spoke solemnly as he began to think about it more, what would happen to them? Are they ever going to return from where they came or would they be stuck like this forever.
The ginger looked at the man up and down and then looked at Aaron examining him. After a moment, she just sighed and sat down on the ground, seemingly defeated.
They stood there in complete silence before another person suddenly appeared but before the man could even say a word, a voice spoke out in a monotonous voice, “Welcome all to this world you have found yourself in, before things start to come into motion I would like to congratulate all of you for being chosen” the voice seemed to come the way Aaron was facing and so all the others turned toward it.
“What do you mean chosen? What the hell is wrong with y-” the man who just arrived questioned, demanding he be answered, and to back his demands he started walking over towards the speaker with his fists in a ball but was interrupted.
“All questions will be answered in due time, now please refrain from coming any closer, or I will have to talk about some… precautionary measures so as to not be hurt.” The person's voice was still monotonous but when they spoke, it seemed the words held a sort of pressure to them, stopping the man’s march in place.
“Ok now that we have come to an agreement, I will continue” the person looked over all of the five people present with cold, dead eyes and then continued, “Since you all arrived at the same time, I would like you to introduce yourself, by your name and only that.” He insisted on them to do so, but Aaron felt that if they didn't they might face those ‘precautionary measures’ he spoke of just a second ago.
Aaron decided to not test his luck and so he spoke first, “Hello, uh, everyone, my name is Aaron Cyprus.”
The person, who seemed to be male, nodded his head, “Next.”
“I'll go next then, my name is Gregory Hail, but you can call me Hail, I like it better” The Brit who went by Hail smiled enthusiastically.
Instead of saying something he just nodded expectantly for the next person to speak.
There was a short pause from them seeing who would go first out of the three remaining people, all of them just looking at each other expectantly, until the darker skin lady opened her mouth, “I-Im Alexandra J-Jones…”
A nod later, the ginger girl hastily spoke “Hallie Cunningham” as to just hurry things along and hopefully find some answers to her predicament. It was all just so mind boggling what was happening, none of the people here except the man with the monotonous voice knew what was happening.
The aggressive man then gritted his teeth trying to hold back his anger, looked at them all and then breathed to calm himself down. “I am Jason Sanders, now can this be over with already?” Jason Sanders was more of a bulky guy compared to Hail and Aaron, them being more lanky and thin. Other than that, he seemed more normal and what you might see just while walking down the street in your city, normal suit of an average day worker, brown hair, just your average Joe, though you could almost feel how furious he was about the series of events that happened after he poofed into this strange forest.
“Well now that the greetings are over, time to get into the main topic: why are you all here. To put it in simpler terms that you can understand, you were chosen as I said before, but not for a peculiar reason that I know or can tell you about, just random chance really.” He paused for a moment and looked them all over but then smiled, “But now that you are here, you can never go back to where you came from, this is your new life and as you are soon to realize, life is difficult so learn to adapt, you will all be split up and start new lives so you might meet again. May the gods smile forth upon you.”
He gave three big slow claps and as slowly dissipated from their view. “Oh one last thing, this is not a game, do not treat it like that or you may be severely injured or killed as result of your actions.” With those final words, he disappeared completely.
All five of them looked around completely stunned by what they just saw before their very eyes. A man just disappeared! “What the hell is going o-” Aaron started to say but then just like before, he found himself in an area that resembled a void.
