In the early morning a fit young man stands in the Hundi-river. With his pale brown hair which hung down almost to his shoulders blowing in the chilly soon-to-be autumn wind, Alex stood in the water. He was just done with his wash and looking out over the glistening water as he thought back on the journey that his uncle and he were on. A journey that had taken them from the capital of that rather strange Capprian people, through the Cotieres mountains and the Irenwudu forest in the southwestern part of the Akerlan kingdom and along the Unonza river. All the while seeing all the numerous villages dotted all around the landscape as well as the even more numerous farmsteads where the serfs did their endless work.
With a sigh Alex got out of the slightly cold water and started to dry himself out , after which he pulled on his thread-worn travel clothes as well as a pair of knee-high well-fitted boots. His garbs were all simple and reminders of his low status in this country which was slightly higher than the serfs they had passed on the journey. Fully dressed he grabbed the two waterskins, refilling them and heading back to the camp. By a newly lit fire, a middle-aged man sits wrapped in his worn cloak to warm himself in the cool morning air. The silver splashes in his dark half-long hair together with his well-groomed beard were some of the few ways one could guess the age of his uncle. Something that even Alex could forget when they had their daily sword training, which Alex only recently started to win after years of training.
Stolen story; please report.
When Jack saw him, the old man started to get up as he smiled at Alex: "You're finally done, then maybe we can get going. We have to be in Arety by midday today."
"But, what about breakfast?" Alex asked his uncle, feeling his stomach loudly complain.
"I left some bread, ham and cheese by the fire," his uncle said as he went to get the horses ready, "but you need to eat on the horse."
It wasn't long before the two of them continued their journey towards the east, reaching the city of Arety within two hour or at least the walls surrounding the city. As they got closer to the city gates Alex noticed the long line of merchants, farmers as well as general travelers waiting to enter the city. However like his uncle always do when they enter any kind of City he's simply rode right past the line of people, showed the gatekeeper his black signet-ring and was flagged through without any questions.
