Struggle Begins

The spark lit the match instantaneously, the smell of hickory wood filled the air. The heat outside was already boiling now, this match was not helping.

The wind brushed against his face, Gin now had 15 matches lit and floating with their respective boxes using Telekinesis. This was child's play compared to the statues he practiced making the other day.

He waited for the right moment when the pack wood soon converge into a single circle in the field. Drops of perspiration rolled down his back, the heat was not helping. The clouds moved gently through the sky and the sun was well into the evening at this point.

Time was of the essence; he could wait no longer.

Very quickly, his arm bent slightly next to his waist, his hand suddenly shot open; The makeshift lanterns spread fast at his command. His eyes pierced the air around him, a ripple of pressure pulsed off of him in intervals as he focused in on the field.

The wind began to pick up and a howl was heard in the distance but it was too late. Fire spreads fast, in feet just in a matter of seconds, the wind sped this process even further.

The wind didn't just simply begin to pick up, he motivated the molecules in the air to become a driving force of air; a powerful gust. The smell of dew and grass was in the air but was soon overcome with burning and howling.

Gins legs moved with purpose as multiple lightning strike began to separate from the circle. They were trying to escape!

"HOW AUDACIOUS" Gin yelled with a grin. These beasts were his prey, but prey will do what only it can; run.

The wolves howled and many raged against the flames. Some jumped into the fire hoping to escape, none really made it except one. That one died to injuries, it passed out from the heavy injuries and died from being in the thick smoke. Within moments, miles of open plains was a big ball of fire.

[30 Energy Gained] * 23

[660 Total Energy Gained]

Sweet, that will help my stats, I can even use it to force breakthroughs on techniques. Normally people couldn't even train their techniques to a higher grade. Gin was special, Risers were a different breed altogether.

Some wolves had the ability. They quickly left the circle, these were the true ones that Gin needed to kill.

As some of them were teleporting out, Gin used telekinesis and lifted the water in the nearby river to drench the wolves leaving. They didn't stand a chance. The water paralyzed them, leaving them to be easy kills.

[60 Energy Gained] * 13

[780 Total Energy Gain]

Gin couldn't help but smile, as his energy pool expanded; he felt his ability to use Telekinesis also rise. What was this? So this is what others felt as their energy soared and their horizons were broadened.

Sadly he had not gained the ability yet.

He was different though. Not only could he build it up, but he could increase mind and body or even focus stats. Mind increased memory, cognition, and critical thinking. These might seem small but they were vital in a battle.

Even more than that, the higher the intelligence, the more he could run theoretical scenarios in his mind to test his strength or even just to test his opponents!

The body stat increase defense, strength and of course speed. He could theoretically become infinitely stronger, the only problem being the amount of energy he needed would go up in accordance with the growth of the stat.

*GRRRRROWWLLL*

Gin quickly turned around, flexing the power in his hamstrings and waist to the max, as he turned around lightning fast the wolf was in the air ready to pounce on him. This wolf had an aura of lightning coming off of its being and it was 3 times the size of the normal lightning wolfs; The ALPHA. His teeth alone were the size of Gins head. His height was easily the size of a monster truck, if not bigger.

The wolf was high in the air about to land when Gins eyes widened pulsing a telekinetic blast on the wolf, the wolf was sent flying a 100 feet back; practice really paid off. *THUMP* as it landed apparently dead on impact.

The other 2 wolves left tried to run away but Gin quickly used telekinesis to pull more water from the nearby river and dowse the remaining wolves left.

Afterwards he walked around using telekinesis to snap there necks as humanely as possible. Gin loved animals and didn't see the need to make their death painful.

He needed their technique and they were beasts anyway. The law of their world was strength prevails. Gin felt only respect for these beasts, their capabilities were something no one could laugh at.

Normal enhancers would have to take parties to even take 1 of these wolves down. Usually, people died trying to kill these because they always traveled in packs, which meant sometimes people were negligent in their research and thought the wolf might be alone, this error cost them their life.

Ignorance is not bliss since it could destroy you. Gin knew this well.

He stood there after putting the fire out and let the wind hit his face. He needed a shower after this battle. The smoke had completely perforated his clothes, he smelled strongly of fire wood and acid. Why Acid?

The electro static properties of the wolves blood using the translation technique required their blood to be slightly acidic. This was so they could conduct electricity in order to use their abilities.

[Ding]

[Acquired Lightning Translation Technique]

Gins eyes widened at the sight not expecting this at all. A wolf must have just died out to its injuries; he must have missed it.

He quickly used telekinesis to help launch himself in the sky, the wind unfurled on his back and his cloak flapped furiously in the wind. Before he knew it, Gin was almost 700 ft up in the air. The sight was breathtaking, he could see much of the forest and the hills he had jumped and run across to get here. He also saw the massive wall about 18 miles from him, he had a knack for measuring distances. The wall was massive stretching toward the skies, the clouds covered it so completely that one could not see the top of the wall from the ground.

Why were they built so high? Gin thought to himself, almost bugged by the thought of something else out there.

Remembering he was in the air and was starting to now feel a strain from the telekinesis, He activated the lightning translation technique. He felt electricity course through his veins, only this didn't paralyze his muscles. It felt comfortable and powerful, it flowed through his entire being. Then as if merging with the sky, he felt the electricity in the air, the charged particles all moving with him in unison.

He looked in the distance, picturing himself there, like a rush of lightning he crashed into the ground.

Many talked about this in the city after it was reported lightning struck nearby and scared the border patrol so badly that they wanted to make it against the law to use translation abilities in front of the wall. Gins name was starting to become known.

Stories had also circulated about the statues and the Jade family put out a request for the creator to step forward because they wanted to hire him to create statues for them. The Jade family lived in a practical palace on top of a mountain within a gated area. Their house was exquisite, red pillars, black roofing tiles and they had tatami floors. There was golden inlaid into the designs on the doors which were also made not only of the best red wood but also Jade. The floors inside the palace was made of Marble flooring inlaid with Jade and Gold exquisite designs. They wanted statues of the zodiac inside the palace that would line up as one approached the family head.

Gin had just gotten back to the city after the border patrol fiasco, while invigorated by his new found technique, he couldn't help but feel slightly bad for the border guard.

The poor guy actually defecated himself.

Gin went home and took a shower to clean the smokey smell. Afterwards he walked back into his room, he wanted to sell some beast parts from the wolves. He had dismantled some of the wolves before trying his ability. He needed credits now if he was going to pay for the academy.

As he read articles online about where to post his sales, he came across a training ground simulator. One could face others within the simulation or even practice ones abilities to a realistic expectation.

Now Gin could do this with his mind stat ability but it just was not strong enough yet.

Gin began looking at pvp recorded videos online to expand his view of the world..
