Prologue: When Titans Ruled the World

**2 Million years ago**

Jallah grabbed on to the tree branch for dear life.

How could this be happening? He thought. He had never heard of anything of the sort happening to anyone before.

What was that wind powerful enough to send me flying off the cliff? Did Lelantos, the Titan of the Air and the Unseen, attack me? No, the Great Titans only protect us. Then how could this have happened? He mentally rambled.

Jallah was an unusually moral man. That’s not saying much, however, since everyone in the world was perfect in every way. After all, though none of them would know it, they lived in the Golden Age of Mankind.

Suddenly, he saw a blue flash in the sky, along with a loud bang. More than a little surprised, he let his hand loose its grip, ever so slightly, and fell. Heart pounding, he thought about what would happen. Then he realized that the Titans will definitely arrive to save him, so he should just calm down. As he was falling to his doom, he calmed down, closed his eyes, and wondered what would happen if the Titans didn’t come to save him.

Jallah was the first mortal in the world to die a violent death instead of a peaceful one. He didn’t deserve it, obviously, but then again, no one did. They were all perfect.

Unfortunately, someone had to be the first, and that someone just happened to be Jallah. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time. On a somewhat positive note, at least he was the first man to experience lightning-Zeus’ lightning as he sneakily struck down the Lord of the Titans to be exact.

The moment before Jallah met the beautiful river underneath the cliff, he saw the end of the world as he knew it, and he had a feeling that the world would never be as wonderful as it was to his generation and his ancestors before him. Before he died, he used his perfect intuition to realize the bitter truth.

I am the last pure human to die. Everyone will now live in an imperfect world, and that will cause them to become imperfect as well, Jallah foresaw. As he hit the water and his body was shredded into parts, he resigned himself to his fate and lamented the fate of the world as well.

And there was nothing that any mortal could do about it. After all, mortals just didn’t have enough power or intelligence to rival the higher beings. After Zeus took the lead, the world deteriorated exponentially, and the ages passed, getting worse and worser still.

20 million years later, after everything had went to shit, humanity started its upward rise again with the Renaissance up to the present time, and this, my friends, is where the real story starts.
