Time’s Awakening

5th October 1875 - Eden

The wind was howling, and the rain was pouring down from the sky, but that didn't stop people from going out; the market was packed today. It had always been full, but today, there were an unusual amount of people outside. Martin sat at the local Tavern looking out the window at all the people going by; he wondered why there were so many people out; the weather was terrible, but people still came from all around to be at this market today. While Martin was sitting in his thoughts, thinking about all the people outside, his two friends, Dave and Lisa, came into the Tavern.

"Just watching all the people outside, it's pretty crazy how many people are out in this weather," Martin replied.

"Hey Martin, what are you up to?" Dave asked.

"I know. We were just at the market, and it was packed. We could hardly move," Lisa added.

Martin nodded in agreement. "I wonder what's going on. Maybe there's a special event or something."

A man entered the Tavern, dripping wet from the rain, and ordered a drink. But before he could take a sip, he suddenly collapsed, unconscious.

Martin, Dave, and Lisa turned around to look at what had happened, and Martin ran over to try to save the man.

"He's dead,”

Martin told Dave with sorrow in his voice. Dave looked over to Lisa, standing at the end of the room, crying.

Then suddenly Lisa heard a weird sound coming from the outside, but she didn't pay it much attention and thought it was just the wind. She then decided to go over to Dave and Martin to hear how they were doing, but before she got there, the room got dark, and she heard a lot of people shouting. She automatically raised her hand to show her innocence, but it was useless. When she tried to move to the exit, she suddenly felt a lot of shots fired at her.

"Don't shoot me; I haven't done any….thig

“LISA!!!

Martin screamed from across the room, trying to run to her aid, but Dave stopped him.

“Martin, we have to get out of here before they shoot us as well. I'm sorry to say, but she is dead, Martin.”

“Noo! She needs us.”

Martin cried

“She would want us to get to safety; she would have done it if it was one of us.”

Then Martin came to his senses and listened to Dave. Dave then looked around the room to see if there was a safe way out. Then suddenly Martin heard a gunshot and jumped to the side and saw Dave fall to the floor with a bullet right between his eyes. Martin then got scared and just ran like crazy to the exit to try to save himself, but he didn't go far before he felt a bullet hitting him in the back of his head, and he fell to the ground.

The atmosphere in the tavern turned from lively to chaotic in an instant. The sound of rain hitting the roof and the howling wind outside seemed to amplify the sense of despair and tragedy that filled the room. The dimly lit space became even darker as fear gripped the hearts of those present. Lisa's tears mixed with the raindrops on her face as she desperately tried to comprehend the sudden turn of events. The deafening sound of gunshots echoed through the air, shattering any hope of escape. The lifeless body of the man who had collapsed moments ago lay motionless, a haunting reminder of the fragility of life. Martin's cries of anguish pierced through the chaos, his pleas for help met with the harsh reality of loss. As Martin and Dave's friendship came to a tragic end, Lisa's own fate was sealed by a hail of bullets, leaving her lifeless on the floor. The room fell into an eerie silence, broken only by the sound of raindrops hitting the broken windows.

—Today—

4th October 1975 - Dawn City

Jack woke up feeling groggy after going to bed late the night before. He had been working late and couldn't resist watching another episode of his favorite series, causing him to stay up until 4 a.m. Fortunately, he had no plans for the day and intended to relax in front of the TV. However, his plans took an unexpected turn when he heard the sound of something breaking, shattering the quietness of his empty home. Alert and curious, he quickly threw on an old t-shirt and a pair of jeans that were lying on the floor and cautiously made his way towards the source of the noise.

As he stepped out of his bedroom and into the hallway, he could hear the faint sound of someone speaking. Intrigued yet cautious, Jack descended the stairs slowly, attempting to move quietly to avoid drawing attention. With each step, the voice became clearer, and he realized it belonged to a woman. Standing in the hallway, he caught sight of her - a woman with long brown hair and an outfit adorned with sophisticated technology. There was an air of urgency and determination about her.

The woman sensed Jack's presence behind her and turned around, locking eyes with him. Time seemed to freeze as they stared at each other, their gazes locked for what felt like an eternity. Finally, breaking the tension, the woman spoke in a voice filled with purpose.

"Good, you are home. I need your help. Follow me."

In that moment, Jack's life took an unexpected turn as he embarked on a journey into the unknown, guided by a mysterious woman who seemed to hold a world of secrets.
