"Push!" The doctor said to the lady lying on the bed, "Push!"
A lady, around her early 20’s, screamed with pain as another contraction shook her body.
The lady was 7 months pregnant and suddenly her water broke in the middle of work. Luckily, she was a nurse and was already in a hospital, so they got her settled quickly into the labor and delivery section of the hospital.
She was now in labor for 6 hours, and the baby still wasn't coming out. And everyone was starting to get worried.
"What's happening, is there something wrong with my baby?" The young lady asked in a panicked voice.
"No, no. You're doing just fine. Don't worry, just focus on pushing and the baby will come in due time." The doctor said, trying to reassure the lady but had a slightly worried look on his face.
She knew something was wrong and couldn't do anything except keep pushing and hoping for the best. Soon she would have a baby boy to keep her company.
The baby's father ran away after learning that the lady was pregnant, so she would be raising the child all by herself.
The lady kept on pushing and the doctors kept on encouraging her, but they could tell that she was losing strength fast, and hoped the baby would come out soon. They all liked the pregnant lady, and hoped she would be okay. They prayed that the baby would come out soon and let the soon to be mom, get some rest.
This woman had just started working in this hospital about a year ago. She was hard-working and kind. Many patients she took care of would often complement her work and leave good reviews on their website which promoted their hospital's ratings quite a bit over the year.
She never got cocky or slacked off even after being showered with praise. She stayed humble and hard-working even after her boyfriend left her when he found out about the baby.
Due to her hard work, she was very skinny and weak, but she refused to take a break, wanting to earn money for her and her unborn child to be able to live a decently comfortable life.
20 hours into the labor, the lady was exhausted and gave one last push before she fainted, but luckily the baby came out.

The doctor quickly grabbed the baby and started rubbing the baby's chest gently to get him to take his first breath a few seconds later the baby took its first breath and let out a loud yowl, surprising everyone around them. They never expected such a tiny premature baby could let out such a loud cry.
After the baby boy took his first breath, they rushed him into the intensive care unit for further checkups to ensure that the baby would survive. They hooked him up to feeding tubes and a ventilation tube to help him breathe, and many other tubes. They took turns watching over the baby, making sure he was fine. After a week in the ICU, the baby was stable enough to go back and stay with his mother.
His mother was extremely worried about her child as the other people refused to tell her anything, keeping her on edge and unable to rest for a while. Eventually the ordeal of stress and giving birth caught up and she fell sound asleep.
After the week passed, the doctors came back with the newborn baby boy. She breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed as she got to hold her newborn baby child in her arms at last.
The new mother was still too weak to move after her arduous labor, but she was slowly getting stronger. She sat up and breastfeed him. The newborn baby latched on and started suckling her strongly, much to her surprise.
A doctor came in after the baby was done feeding and fell fast asleep in his mother's arms.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I've got something to tell you, it's about your son." The doctor had a concerned look on his face.
"What's wrong? Is my son okay? He seems perfectly healthy to me." she says worriedly. "He was just breastfeeding from me pretty strongly which is an indication that he'll live, right?"
"Ah..." The doctor hesitated, unsure of what to say. "Your son will be fine, it's just...."
"What?" the new mother says impatiently, "Spit it out please."
The doctor sighs, "Your son has hyperalgesia."
The lady is relieved but also worried at the same time. She is relieved that her son will be fine but also worried about his condition. Right now, she would relax as her son would live and be no longer in danger of dying.
She would worry about her son’s special condition and how to take safety measures for him later.
"What will his name be?" one of her nurse friends asked her.
"His name is Landon," The new mother responded determinedly, "And he shall live a good life. I'll make sure to give him everything he needs and teach him how to survive in this difficult world. He won't be like those people traveling from world to world and picking fights with others, but I will make sure that he can have a decent life right here with me."
"That's a great idea. Rest here for now,” The nurse tells her. “You can leave in a few days just to make sure that everything is alright with baby Landon."
The nurse then leaves the lady and her newborn alone to rest.
