The lesson learned again: Stubbornness defeated...?

A few days after their first meeting...

Adam stretched his arms, rubbing his right shoulder. He got into yet another fight recently, and the piercing wound still didn't fully heal, giving him a tingling in the shoulder. He was standing on the cliff with a clear view of Cyber City. He was wondering when she would arrive. He was worried. Yes, they found a solution to keep her out of Faulty's hands, and it was making life much easier for him, but on the other hand, she never had a good immune system, but now, all of a sudden, it has become great. He didn't buy it, not for a damn moment. At some point, he heard a silent step behind him. Reflexively, he made a sharp 180-degree turn. In his left arm, a sword had appeared—a long, thin sword with red runes carved into it. The blade itself was pure black, and a few small masks were hanging off of the handle. The tip of the sword presses against the person's neck, but after a few moments, he groans and sets the blade down, saying:

"Abby, you... why are you sneaking up on me?!"

Abby crosses her arms and huffs, giving him an annoyed-angry glare.

"Adi, you're a goddamn paranoid..."

afterward, she suddenly hugs him and mumbles under her breath.

"And also an absolute wreck of a person... I told you, don't try to find a solution to the problem alone, but no, you just had to go fight and break a rib, didn't you?"

She gave him a light smack on the head, followed by a scoff from Adam that sounded more like a chuckle. Hearing the scoff-chuckle, Abby says

"What's so funny?!"

Adam, in response, rubs his right hand and replies to her with a surprisingly calm voice.

"Ab, I'm used to it... Hey!"

He was cut short by an attempt by her to slap him; although her arm was caught, it took him off guard.

"Abby, what the fuck?!"

In response, Abby takes her arm out of his grasp and replies with a harsh tone, staring him in the eye.

"You promised me we'd go through this together, but you just keep running head first into the danger without a bother about your promise! Or what I'd think, at least!"

She looked at him with a stern face, but then a tear rolled down her face.

"You remember what we talked about... You're not invincible; you can't do everything alone. You almost died twice...!"

A momentary silence follows from Adam, but then he pulls Abby close to himself into a hug, patting her back, his voice turning into a soft whisper.

"I don't want to risk your life when I know I can handle the issue..."

Abby looked up at him with a judging expression and replied, her voice soft yet stern.

"Adi... that doesn't mean you can just go around, trying to do everything alone. I'm not there just... just for show. I'm here to HELP. I WANT to help you. I don't want you to keep slowly killing yourself, because you're just too stubborn to accept my help."

He didn't answer a thing, instead, he looked at the city, slowly letting go of her. He didn't know what to say, but Abby knew that he felt guilty... she sighed and said to him

"Adi, just please... stop leaving me on the sidelines, I want to help you... just let me help, alright?"

He looks at her, and after a short, hesitant pause, he replies with a serious voice, but with a hint of joking present.

"...Fine. just don't you dare die on me, because I'll drag you all the way out of heaven."

Abby chuckles, sitting beside him, leaning her head on his shoulder, then answering with a teasing-sassy voice.

"Sure thing, Adi... now, aside from your stubbornness, how about we just take a breather?"

..."Alright."
