Chapter 4 -Trip down memory lane
Author’s Notes: I edited the way magics works in chapter 3 for those who read the chapter before today.
As 3’s eyes felt the blindfolds get removed, his eyes closed tight shut as it was unable to adjust to the sudden change from darkness to light. As he slowly opened his eyes and let them adjust, he found his hands and legs to still be chained and to still be in cage that he had been forced into when he was chained up. 3 looked around and found his cage and two other cages to be situated in the middle of the most lavish room he had seen in his life and in front of him lay a red carpet which stretched across the room from a door to a set of stairs on top which was a chair where a mix between a tiger and a human sat. His body looked like that of a tiger and yet his body itself had the structure of a human. (quite hard to explain- hv a look urself http://static4.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_small/3/34310/2201974-2201972-thundercats_tygra_by_erikvonlehmann_d4ofw6v.jpg , credits to thunder cats)
He knew what he was going to do and was well aware that this could very well be the last thing he ever did. He sighed to himself as he remembered what he had gone through to reach this situation. The first memories he had were when he was 3 years old and in no way were they pleasant:
He had awoken to find himself on a bed surrounded by men dressed in white coats looking at him as though admiring a great piece of artwork they had built. Suddenly he felt intense pain coursing throughout his body and he felt himself slipping into darkness once again. He woke up a few times after that over what felt like months, only to find himself surrounded by those white coated men placing silvery objects around him or inserting liquids into him. He however, would not be awake for long as he would always find himself losing consciousness seconds after gaining it.
After what felt like the hundredth time he had awoken, he found himself not surrounded by the white coated men but hundreds of children just like himself all being made to wake up by burly men who were getting them into lines. Many children crawled to these lines as though they had never walked before. 3 himself attempted to copy the burly men and children who were walking- only to find himself falling and being only able to crawl to the lines. They were brought into a room and what happened afterwards were imprinted into 3’s mind for the rest of his life.
Those that were unable to walk were taught to walk, after which they were educated in various subjects and informed of where they were and how they were fighting for a revolution. This was where the real hell began. They were trained in magics and fighting techniques, demihumans were also trained on using their animal forms to the best of their abilities. During this period discipline was instilled into their bodies, so much so that it had become physically and mentally impossible for them to go against the orders of the revolutionary. They were made to fight older members of the revolutionary and other children like themselves and every day many children dropped dead like flies. 3 made it out alive of this hell and was even given number 3- but what came out was not a well trained child soldier. No what came out was a war machine who could think about nothing but executing orders given to him and maximising his own fighting skills. In just two years he had become a monster who was a level three mage who being a demi human and having the element of surprise could go toe to toe with even rank 5 beasts.
He was going to play a very integral role in the resistance movement as his target was none other than the city lord!
This was the first time 3 had had a chance to see a beast and he immediately remembered what he was taught when he was briefed on the mission… “Lord Tygra that rules this city is as everyone knows- a tiger beast. He is known for his fondness of other tigers loves to thus find them regardless of beast or demi human and add them to a tiger corps he is in the process of creating. This is where three you come in- you will be ‘sold’ to slave traders who would then bring you to the lord and then you have to assassinate him when he is not looking. This naturally would be impossible for you 3 as he is four levels above you in magics and his physical capabilities far outmatch you. However, you have the complete benefit of surprise for no one would be able to guess that the five year old demi human in one of the cages has the kind of capabilities you have.
Remember that while beasts can only turn into humans when they exceed level 10, they can however have a partial transformation between beast and human and are known find themselves most comfortable in that form. Thus you must kill him in that form as a beast is much more powerful in full beast mode than when it is in the partial form. Also unlike demi human beast forms which can only have an affinity to mana that their colour corresponds with, beasts have no such rule and thus are far more unpredictable than demi humans and their beast mode is much more powerful than a demi humans beast form, even if they are the same type and of the same rank. After the assassination is a success, give us a signal and we will storm in and kill all the other filthy beasts that call the castle their home.”
3’s mind went into overdrive as he remembered the final plan he came up with to kill the Lord,
1. Dark port to just near the lord
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
2. Lightning bolt the neck and follow up with a knife slash at the injury to ensure the Lord’s death
3. Lightning bolt the roof to act as a signal
4. Place an ice cage around himself to protect himself from damage
For this plan required him to be efficient, quick and deadly as its success was based on the element of surprise and if he could not kill the lord in his moment of surprise - he would no doubt find his head separated from the rest of his body. He quickly meditated for a while to clear his head of everything but the plan. After a minute he opened his eyes and started the dark port chant mentally…
While 3 was about to initiate his assasination of the lord, all over the city guards and high ranking members of the city - many level 5 beasts, found themselves being assassinated by children barely 5 years of age. The Resistance planned to take out as many of the high ranking members of the beast forces in the city as possible before they fled to one of the Kingdom of Man and joined with the mysterious men in the shadows. He had especially sent the top three numbers to take out the very top figure within the city...
A girl walk through the rubble smiling as she eyed the corpse in front of her. She was barely 80 cm tall and no older than 6 and yet was unfazed by the sight that lay before her. She wore a jacket with the no. 2 on. Nine humongous monkey beasts surrounded her, not letting the sight of a dead comrade anger them, but calmly assessing the situation and judging the seemingly weak opponent they had surrounded. The girl looked calm, yet her mind was running through countless scenarios to find a way she could kill these 9 beasts as well the far more powerful beast that they were guarding.
She was a demi human with a viper beast, which had no colours or designs- it was the very basic viper. Yet she was able to prove her worth to the Resistance and climb her way up in the child army and take the position and name no. 2 due to a special ability hers, she had the ability to manipulate any type of poison as long as she had consumed it before. It had a few limitations like she herself could not produce the poison- but that had been taken care of by the Resistance, who provided her with vials containing poisons that they had already made her consumed. This made her one of the very best assasin’s the Resistance had to offer.
She had been tasked to kill the second most trusted being of the lord after the lord’s own brother- the level 7 tiger beast known as Gawen, killing his ten level 6 head guards was supposed to be the easy part. All she had to do was to silently poison the ten head guards and finish them off. She first planned to strike at the guards at the front of Gawen’s mansion and then rush in and kill Gawen himself before killing the remaining guards inside and outside his mansion. However, her plans failed when she found all ten guards at the front of the mansion and all other possible routes of entrance to be guarded by countless number of guards. She attempted to murder the ten guards first- so that the greatest obstacle after Gawen would be removed. She was however noticed in her attempts to poison them and had only succeeded in ending one out of the ten guards.
She knew that this mission was a complete failure, for even if she were to kill the ten guards- now that she had lost her advantage of surprise, she would not be able to finish Gawen. She knew something was wrong for the guards were way too attentive and in huge numbers but did not have time to think about it as the 9 guards rushed at her with their weapons, varying from swords to spears towards her wielding long spears and chanting spells as they got ready to attack her simultaneously. However, they were shocked to see the little girl who had shockingly just murdered half of the guards not even look at them but rather took out a vial with a green substance from her pocket and opened the cap. Immediately the green substance flew out of the vial, revealing itself to be a green coloured gas. The guards immediately stopped their advancement vary of this unknown substance. However, the girl did not stop there- she transformed into a huge Viper and let the green coloured gas flow around her. She stared at the beasts and yelled- “ Lets do this”.
The gas immediately split into 9 parts and turning into small Vipers flew towards the 9 beasts. These beast were some of the best that the city had to offer and thus they were paying full attention to their enemy not looking down at her at all for just being a child. Thus they were ready when the gas split and got ready to use their weapons to block the upcoming seemingly magic attack. However, this was not magics but rather a special power of the girls and thus it did not have to follow the rules of magic and did not use imagination to move the poison but rather orders to control the poison. So when she saw the weapons being ready to intercept her attack- all she had to do was to order the poison to move around the weapons and hit the beasts.
The poison therefore easily avoided the weapons and rushed to attack the beasts. However, the beasts’ reaction time was no worse and therefore, despite being shocked, they immediately reacted to this- half of them used different types of magics to completely obliterate the poison coming towards them while the other half armoured themselves up via magic to protect themselves from the attack. Seeing all her attacks fail - the girl’s faced twitched as she prepared herself for a long fight.
Author’s Note: So wrote a quick flash back and tried my hands on a shabby fightiing scene (sorry need to see how others do it), also first 2000 words chapter
