As I was contemplating how stupid all these people and their predecessors were, there were lots of look on contemplation on the group across from us. I could tell they were thinking of involving us in a stupid plot. Stupid people used to ordering people about, would keep doing so.
“We were hoping, you could carry a message to your Emperor, requesting aid to deal with the monster,” Raji said.
“Not the sword?” Rurik asked. There was silence at this and quite a bit of fear. I made sure to not use the emotional projection of Aura, otherwise I would have unleashed my desire to kill all these idiots. They obviously realized the sword would pick another target or do something else if the monster was killed.
There was no way of knowing. It was a rouge form of life. Hmm, that reminded me about the Avatar saying a non-human had ownership of a tower. My eyes went wide at that. The monster or the sword? That was both concerning and an interesting question to consider.
“It flies off, once its owner is dead. And too powerful to separate from its owner,” Rurik explained.
“Gregorovich killed many sword wielders before he died, but he never managed to destroy the sword,” Rurik said. I wondered how powerful the sword actually was if it kept failing to kill the monster. “We had our best scouts watching the most recent fight from a distance. It was close, but that massive beam attack missed unfortunately.”
Wait…what?!
“Excuse me,” I said and everyone looked at me. “Are you saying that the sword unleashed a massive golden beam? Are its other skills gold colored?” I asked.
“Yes, why does it matter, it missed,” Rurik said.
“We can worry about the sword later, we need to stop the monster,” Raji Gupta said. I turned to look at the man who dared say such an idiotic thing. That sword might be powerful, but it wasn’t contained like the monster was to a specific area. If the monster died, then the sword would be released. That was what these people wanted. “If…what is going on?” he nervously said as I projected wave after wave of killing intent at him.
It was a useless technique on anyone strong, but for a situation like this, where I wasn’t ready to kill all these idiots, it was the only way I could vent out my rage without murdering them on the spot. “You dare,” I said quietly. Everyone on my side of the table looked at me nervously. I could almost hear Fiyaz gulping.
“What do you mean? We haven’t done anything,” Raji quickly said while sweating nervously.
“I am not an idiot. You want the monster dead, so you can claim the sword yourselves and unleash a new reign of terror using it. You want someone else to clean up your mistakes,” I said with a death glare. There was utter silence at this for around ten second and then Rurik spoke up.
“Who are you to speak to us like this? Some team? You might be strong, but you are in the heart of our territory,” he replied. I gave him a look like one would give an idiot child.
“This city, it is level 4?” I asked calmly.
“No, level 5, why?” Rurik hesitantly asked back.
“Really? Useless. Completely and utterly useless. I think it is time I am properly introduced. And if you want to make a move, please do. Fiyaz if you will do the honors,” I replied calmly. Fiyaz gave me a look and I nodded. We were going to find this sword and destroy it first. Then I would deal with the monster.
“Announcing his Imperial Majesty, Emperor Michael of the Empire of Purgatory. Champion of the Realm. Custodian of the Avatar. Slayer of the Divine Empress,” Fiyaz clearly and concisely. I stood up at that declaration. My people stood up with me.
“I am leaving now. Thank you for your hospitality, it was excellent. Even if the intelligence was lacking,” I replied with a sneer. These people disgusted me and I couldn’t contain it any more. “Let’s go.” I began walking out.
“Emperor, as if!” Rurik said. “Detain him!” he replied. I froze at that and turned towards him.

“Very well, team, please move to the side. If they think they can detain me, as if that wasn’t a joke, let them try,” I replied calmly while staring at Rurik. I wasn’t murdering them all for two reasons. First, I didn’t want to trigger the swords aggro onto me from the monster. Killing all these idiots might trigger that condition. Second, I wanted to leave peacefully in memory of Doctor Katz.
Urg, this situation was even worse than I thought, since our expansion plans would be limited. Or not. Perhaps we could create a portal from one city to this city, linking them togeather, bypassing the monster. It would create a powerful bit of separation.
I just needed to destroy the sword first. The monster was clearly a donkey type of monster. Running away and hiding. Its sole purpose was to kill weak people and infuriate strong people. If anyone created something like that to bother me, I would puke out blood and scream in sheer rage.
It would destroy most of the civilization Clarissa and I had built up. Without the grinding teams, there was no way to establish any sort of economy, or civilization. Sure I could survive and get points, but as the monster moved about, it would be a natural disaster.
I might even, it pained my soul to consider it, and it was a big might, have to ask the Avatar for help in exchange for a pardon. As the people scrambled about, I felt like I wanted to puke in my mouth. There was another example of someone requesting something stupid from the Almighty System.
What was even worse, the only two people who seemed to ask for semi-intelligent things were the Astrologer and the Divine Empress. They had functioning brains, even if they were deficient in huge areas. It had to be a requirement to get a meta-point, to be completely oblivious in a specific way, which was why I hadn’t gotten one yet.
“Anyone that touches me will die,” I calmly declared as the idiots finally got organized enough to send in several soldiers. I turned to the soldiers. “I am the ruler of 19 cities. Think about that for a moment. If you think I won’t kill you, then have your leader go first.”
The soldiers all hesitated. “What are you waiting for?!” Rurik shouted. The other councilors were sticking about to see the show but stayed away from him. Clearly if he wanted to commit suicide by stupidity, they weren’t going to try and save him.
“Well, if you aren’t going to arrest me, I am leaving,” I said calmly and began to walk forward. I heard a rush of steps, and a hand landed on my shoulder.
“You don’t have the stats. Emperor, what a lie!” Rurik said with bravado.
“Oh, my stats. You mean the ones I hid from the Sense stat?” I asked and dropped the masking effect. It had been a pain to maintain and it was nice to finally not have to focus on maintaining it. Rurik’s face paled massively.
I spun, and brought up a hand, at full speed. I then turned and back handed him with my full Body stat. He had enough in the stat, so his head didn’t pop like a watermelon struck by a bullet. Instead his entire jaw was shattered, teeth, blood, and parts of his jawbone separated from his face. Rurik’s head also spun around and there was a sickening crack as I heard the neck break.
Lowering my hand, I looked down at the freshly made corpse, and then everyone else standing around. “Anyone else want to detain me?” I asked calmly. There was no response. I turned back around and made my way for the exit. The soldiers in my way quickly scrambled to the sides. My team fell in behind me. Now that is how you exit like a boss.
Didn’t these idiots look at Michelle and see her stats? Idiots, complete and utter idiots with their heads filled with everything but intelligence. “Back East, or West?” Captain Francis asked me.
“Well, Al Qaeda sounds like fun. The fact that they wanted nothing to do with these idiots, is already a huge plus in my book,” I replied. I considered if I wanted to make more of an exit, but decided against doing that. No need to fly out here on the Infinite Block. While it would make a statement, it would reveal one of our trump cards.
Same reason, I didn’t use any skills either. While melting someone would have been satisfying, they didn’t deserve to be melted. Making a sword like that and allowing such a monster, just enraged me. All those cities for years, being unclaimed.
I should have known there was a problem out West. Still, the time allowed me to get stronger. It didn’t appear the sword or the monster were getting stronger, which was a good thing. Eventually I would be strong enough to clean up these messes.
Also, the sword had tried to kill me. If the wielder was fighting a monster, there was no way that attack ‘somehow’ hit the Crystal Vortex. I had my answers for the entire situation and had met one of the main sources of this disaster. The monster could communicate. I might be able to reason with it to take out the sword, then kill the monster once that was done.
If they were old enemies, it wouldn’t be able to refuse help. But I still wanted to see one of these sword wielders in person, as well as checking out other cities. A part of me was curious as to what an Al Qaeda city looked like. They wouldn’t be terrorizing themselves, that was for sure.
Why they hadn’t killed these idiots was kind of obvious. These idiots lived in a closed and isolated community. They needed the sword to keep the other cities away. But the sword user would probably intervene, only if the city was threatened. So, the other people just washed their hands of the entire mess, isolating Meech.
Seven cities, completely wasted. Years and years of points that could have been harvested. Billions of points. Possibly trillions of points with how long they had been stuck in an endless cycle. It made my very soul clench up. The first thing I did once I got rid of the sword and the monster, was to purge all the idiots running this place. In fact, I would purge everyone, with how much they pissed me off. It was hard to put into words, but it was a lot.
