Chapter 349 – Day 773 (Part 2) – Viewpoints 32

The Envoy Of The Divine Empress

The Envoy saw beam attacks in the distance as three airships dodged and blocked them. Those weren’t from the Dragon Empire. The only thing he could do was increase his speed. Someone dared attack the Forbidden City. He would crush them with the Divine Empress at his side. No greater reward could he ask for.

He reached the outer wall. “Open, in my authority as Envoy of the Divine Empress,” he called out. The gates quickly opened and he rushed inside, not bothering to listen to the soldiers who shouted at him. He needed to get to the Divine Empress no matter what.

Already soldiers were responding and rushing towards the plaza. Such an assault could not stand. A large explosion happened in the distance. An airship had been destroyed. A second explosion occurred. He was too slow! He needed to be faster! The Divine Empress had returned, and all would be made right in the world.

We were coming in fast towards the Forbidden City. The signs and portents were aligned. The Divine Empress was missing, and the High Priestess could be rescued. The amount of resources and heroes that had been committed to this operation from the Fifth Caliphate had cost my people dearly.

But the High Priestess was more valuable than three airships and thirty heroes. She was the one who had predicted the arrival of the Divine Empress and sacrificed herself to protect our people and save us all.

We would not leave her in the clutches of that devil woman before she returned. The Forbidden City was in sight. We had battled our way past the sky monsters. Everyone knew what they had to do beforehand. The airships ascended rapidly and put on more speed.

“Incoming!” Our diviner shouted. Our airship dodged to the side and barriers were deployed as cannon fire was unleashed from the walls. I hung on to the railing as we continued our suicide mission forward. Even if we all died martyrs it was worth it, to save the High Priestess.

More cannon fire rose up, but we had made it past the walls and they hadn’t activated the City Shield. They were too overconfident. We had been preparing for this for years. Hold on High Priestess, we were coming.

The airships dived for the plaza. “Now!” I shouted. Nine beam attacks were unleashed at the soldiers we could see. Explosions rippled across the center of the city while several struck the airship in port. It exploded in ball of annihilation energy with rapidly turned to fire and force, causing debris to rain down and wrecking the tower that was the Airship Port. I leapt off the airship along with seventeen of the heroes. Many would become martyrs this night, but we could not lose this chance to save the High Priestess.

I landed in the plaza and unleashed Void Shot. One of the enemy soldiers screamed as half his body was turned to dust. I kicked off the ground and skewered a soldier in the head with my sword. “For the High Priestess! The Fifth Caliphate!” I shouted as we began to battle our way to palace. The soldiers were pouring out from everywhere. I dodged a beam attack and felt the mental attacks being repelled off my defenses.

“Die!” I shouted and killed another soldier. Several beam attacks hit one of our airships. Several heroes jumped down to the plaza to keep fighting while a few became martyrs. The airship hit the palace and exploded in a ball of annihilation energy, which quickly turned into a massive fireball engulfing several nearby soldiers as the ground shook.

I kept fighting as I cut down soldier after soldier. The palace doors suddenly burst open and my heart froze. I saw the High Priestess, mutilated and suffering, in the hands of the Divine Empress herself.

“Ne catenae me tenere possint!”

Mistress of Shadows

Curse Michael for running away. He was my only lead to my one true love, the Astrologer. I couldn’t let him aid the people of the Dragon Empire and had been killing them as I found them. Any blow I could deliver to the Imperial Bitch herself was a blow well struck.

After the calamity, I had been in a coma. My Guild of Assassins had kept me safe until I could fully recover. They had kept Normandy safe as well while I had been incapacitated. I had returned to find a war between the remnants of the UCS and the Dragon Empire. The Astrologer, my true love, was missing along with the Imperial Bitch.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

I had almost tracked this Michael down who should know where the Astrologer was. I knew my true love wasn’t dead by the pendent he had given me. No matter what, I would be the one to save him. Since his Valkyries had clearly failed. They were bimbos at best. Utter sluts at worst. The way they just threw themselves at him.

I had tracked this Michael down to an area near the city people had been calling Neo Brasilia. I had run across the Chief Diviner and killed him. Making the world better with his death. It was unfortunate the airship had been destroyed, but it was a small loss compared to striking a blow against the Dragon Empire.

Champion Michael had made tracks, but I had followed him hoping he would lead me to the Astrologer. His stats were too high to interrogate him directly, so I had followed him. He had joined up with some dirty weak rebels.

I killed the man who had been his companion, hoping he would run to the Astrologer in a panic. Instead, he had run away with one of the rebel females. Clearly, he could not contain his lust like the worm he was. He had moved too quickly, but I eventually picked up his trail.

It had led right to the Forbidden City. The betrayer! The worm! I snuck in through the main gate and slowly snuck through the city as I made my way to the plaza. I had never been here before. Perhaps there were some gifts I could pick up for my true love.

That was when the airships swooped in out of nowhere. I didn’t recognize the soldiers. But the chaos was the perfect opportunity to strike. I made my way around the plaza towards the entrance of the Forbidden Palace.

Suddenly the doors to the palace burst open, and my heart froze at the sight of the Divine Empress. Why was she carrying a crippled naked woman? There was Michael carrying a box of books and another woman carrying a child. How had he gotten so strong!? The clothing could only mean one thing. The child of the Divine Empress, I had to get him no matter what.

“Ne catenae me tenere possint!” Why was someone chanting Latin in my head?

Master Fleshcrafter

I let out a gasp, as my child body clawed its way out of the incubation tank. I spat up the life energy fluid as I tried to recall what had happened and lead to my death.

“Champion Michael!” Oh no. I needed to stop him right away or escape. I was paralyzed for a second with indecision. I was going to fake my death and get out of the city and hide in the wilderness. It was not my first choice, but the Divine Empress was going to kill everyone, starting with me.

I quickly raced out of the secret room and to my lab. My tiny little child legs struggling to move quickly. That was the weakness of body transferal along with the loss of memories and stats. Luckily I had prepared this body before hand with stats, but currently I couldn’t risk a regeneration at the plaza to restore me to my beautiful form.

I looked at my juggernaut. I quickly began slotting in the primed life crafting crystals into various parts of its flesh. It would take a moment to activate.

I activated the Bomb countdown. The blast should take out a good potion of the city and the palace, covering my escape after the juggernaut rampaged. I grabbed the Sword of Annihilation. This was coming with me just in case I ran into problems.

The ground shook, which was never a good sign. Something was happening, probably Champion Michael killing everyone with all his stats. Good, distract everyone while I get out of here. I quickly raced into a tunnel I had secretly carved under the city. People grafted into the walls kept the place from disappearing. It was a pain to keep them alive, but I wasn’t going to take any chances with my life if the Divine Empress got upset with me and wanted me to motivate me. At least they would die quickly once I escaped and the tunnel would disappear.

Dammit, I liked my old body. It was perfect. I was quickly gasping for breath. I had prepped this body with stats, but nowhere as many as I would have liked. Carrying the Sword of Annihilation wasn’t helping me either, but I wasn’t about to leave this masterpiece of enchanting behind.

I just had to make it to the end of the tunnel in a remote part of the city with a sealed off building. Hidden there was my personal escape airship, all stocked and ready to go. The East Bastion was quite far and didn’t get much traffic from what I knew. Also, it was the farthest city away from the Forbidden City I could think of. Trying to cross the Rift was suicide.

I would pick some remote corner and hide out there for a while. Until I could fix my current body. The nearby city should have plenty of raw materials to work with. While tempting to take control of my own city, I was going to keep my head down and start a completely new life. The Divine Empress did not forget or forgive.

Curse Michael for ruining everything! Things were good here. I was on the cusp of unlocking stats. Stats! I would be able to cultivate directly, drawing in energy and using it to enhance myself. It was the holy grail of energy manipulation.

The Divine Empress had given me some pointers and a direction for my research. I could tell she wanted to know. With her energy control, once she got the knowledge, she would be truly unstoppable. While she was alive, it was her fault for not returning more quickly and letting this disaster happen. It was entirely her fault. Too bad she wouldn’t see it that way.

I had survived her takeover, but I wasn’t about to survive the fallout from this disaster. Better to cover my tracks and make a new life for myself. A completely new identity. Everyone was going to die from this disaster. She wasn’t dead and the fact she was still alive, meant she wasn’t dying any time soon.

She was probably playing one of her games where she stayed away to gain more power and then suddenly showed up to kill everyone who messed up and put new people in charge. Well, this time the mess was too big for any one person to clean up, let alone an Empire.

I was done with this insanity. The number one priority was to save myself and get the hell out of here. Number two priority, change everything about myself so know one would know that I was the Master Fleshcrafter of the Dragon Empire.
