Volume 2-4.5: Felka

Author's Note : Whether or not the MC is liked or not. I think it's fine as long as the story is enjoyed. I'd like it if people stuck around until volume 3 of this first draft though. Another chapter to the morrow?

Still not BL...

Volume 2-5: Felka

----------------------------------------

She was afraid as they began to enter the dungeon. She had lived in a small village most her life. Always hungry; always working. Most girls her age had already been married off, but sadly, she wasn’t the prettiest girl in the village, and with most young men drafted by the kingdom to fight the demons; there was a shortage of bachelors. So her father—tired of having to feed her— sold her.

There had been tears with her mother and siblings but nothing could be done about her departure. She was property now and maybe if she was lucky, She’d find a nice master. She tried to look on the bright side of things. Yes, this was an adventure, just like the stories the village elder used to tell at storytime when she was a little girl.

Her mother had told her that slaves were fed every day. That wasn’t necessarily a lie. A single piece of rye bread for two people every day. She had been partnered with another slave—an old lady who had been sold by her children— the only other women in the convoy to the nearest city. They shared half the bread everyday along with a bucket of water that could be used to drink from or wash yourself.

On the road to Zalarmesto, the old lady and her began to talk. The old lady, Andreada, had been a maid from when she was in her teens. She served a small time noble for the entirety of her career. She married, had kids, and continued to work in the noble’s villa. Eventually she reached the position of head maid, and was able to retire with a small amount of savings.

“And then?”  asked Felka.

“Well retirement went well for a few years until my husband's death” The old lady seemed to be reminiscing as her eyes stopped looking at Felka.”Afterwards I spent my days with my family,” She stared at Felka “Until those damn demons attacked.” said Andreada with a small frown on her face.

Less than a year ago— at the city of Lendux— The crown Prince of Kovolava had been visiting. It would suffice to say that the city became known for being where the crown Prince’s body was buried. The greatest disaster the country had witnessed after the separation of the church.

There are many rumors as to what happened. The official report was that while the Crown Prince was visiting the city. The demons took the opportunity to take the down the only male heir. The largest rumor being that the prince was in the city to have a meeting with the demons. In any case the fact that the crown prince had died was irrefutable.

“My grand children were recruited for the cause, but we haven’t heard word from them in months. The money they used to send stopped coming in, and with price of  food starting to rise….”

Felka knew about that. Everyone had been affected by the war one way or another. Her brothers were too young to fight but the price of bread more than doubled. Her father was too old to serve and Felka had no memories of ever seeing him work. Her mother worked though always coming home after everyone had been asleep. The money was always given to her father who would rarely spend it on anything other than ale.

“In the end I chose to be sold. I've already lived my life.At Least this way my younger grandchildren can eat for a few more days.”

After that Felka never saw the Granny again. In the forest surrounded by wolves the slave merchant decided to give the wolves some fresh meat as a sort of appeasement. The slave merchant was just starting out and was unable to afford bodyguards. It was just him and the slave handler.

As the granny was thrown to the wolves, The Slave merchant drove off in his carriage that was pulling the cages.

The cages were always covered with cloth so Felka was unable to see what happened but she heard it. She was scared. She had never seen any dangerous creatures besides a boar that had entered the village once.

In the end, the rest of the trip to the city was lonely and uneventful. Her first city, and she was unable to see it until she was on top of that wooden stage being sold.

As soon as people started bidding she ignored it. She could tell this was a marketplace but it was so large and filled with people. She wondered how people even managed to walk while the crowd formed around the stage. She was pulled out of her sightseeing daydream when she felt a horrible stare. A man was looking at her. He was a man that scared her. His face wasn't ugly but his stare revealed his ugly personality which made him look uglier than he was.  She wasn't a child; she knew what happened between a man and a girl. Her mother had told her: men were the swords while women their sheaths.

“One gold coin going once!” Screamed the slave merchant. This was it. She was gonna be with that man. She knew her first man wouldn't be handsome and she was fine with that. She was expecting her first man to be her husband though, not losing it to someone who had bought her as a slave. She nearly wanted to cry until “ I'll pay two gold coins!” She heard someone call out.

It was a boy around her age. He was pretty to her. The blonde hair that was nestled at his shoulders. The green eyes that looked greener than the wild countryside she had grown up in. He could be mistaken for a girl if he stayed quiet and changed his mannerisms but he stood tall and confident.

It was all like a story from her childhood. A princess meeting her prince. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't happy. If it was this person; It was fine if she was his slave but contrary to the stories, he didn't treat her like a princess.

“Uhm I’m Michael. I’m your master’s best friend.” She finally took note of the other boy accompanying her new master. He was half-a-head shorter than her master. And while his face couldn't be called good looking it wasn't atrocious. He seemed likes one of the present farmers from her village. Only he was well fed.

“It’s nice to meet you Mr.Michael.” She remembered what the slave handler had taught her “ My...this one's name is Felka.”

“It’s fine if you don’t refer to yourself in third person.” Mr.Michael said. It was strange calling someone near her age mister but she determined that she had to get used to it.

She looked at her master to see if it was alright to follow Michael's advice.

“Right!? Elden?” Michael asked her master what she was too afraid to ask.

“She is a person, after all.” Her master said seemingly approving.

Michael turned to her.“See? I told you it’s fine.” and she nodded.

“Ah right then. This grouchy guy A.K.A”

AKA?

She was not sure what that meant “your master’s name is Elden. Elden Mitchell.”

But she now knew her master's name.

Elden Mitchell. So he was a noble afterall

“Um it’s a pleasure to serve you master Mitchell.”

Lady Felka of house Mitchell

She had a passing thought as she was handed a bowl.

“You must be hungry.”

She was. Eating the bowl of soup she didn't even savor it. After two weeks of nothing but bread and water she was extremely happy rating something else.

While she ate her master disappeared and left her with Michael. She herself hadn't noticed as she was too busy eating.

When she had finally finished, she noticed her master walking towards her while holding clothes. She looked down at the clothes she had been wearing. It wasn't even hers. It had been given to her and forced to wear it by the slave merchant. As she was about to take the clothes, they were taken from her master’s hands.

“Nuuuuu!” She was startled by Michael's scream.“You have have no sense of fashion,Elden.”

Her master arched one eyebrow.

“We can do better… Plus I’m sure you have enough money.” Michael said as he looked at Elden.

Michael grabbed her hand and led her to a tailor's shop.

She was measured by the tailor.

“I can have it ready by today if you pay extra?” The tailor asked Michael.

“Yep, we’ll pay.”

From then until the dress was ready. Felka had worn multiple clothes. Michael kept making her wear several things. He had even picked out pyjamas and underwear for her to use. This world however hadn't made the bras which greatly disappointed Michael.

What Michael had called her “work uniform” was finally done. It was a maid uniform but unlike the normal ones that reached down to the ankles. This one had been shortened to just above her knees.

She didn't feel good in it. Her legs were too thin to show around like that. Elden paid for all of it. She ended up with more clothes than she had ever worn in her lifetime. An underwear for each day of the week, Michael had insisted.

Her master ended up carrying the clothes as they walked back to the inn.

An entire inn had been rented out for the classmates and accompanying knights.

“Ah Elden you're finally back.” Said Bedro —The second-in-command of the knights after Markusy. Markusy had gone to report to the king thus leaving Bedro in charge.

“That's right.”

“The both of you were the last to arrive. We were beginning to worry.” Bedro chuckled.

“We'll be going to our rooms then.”

“Ah wait!” Bedro stopped them. “Who's your friend?”

“She's my new maid.” Elden said.

“Ah,well I don't know if she—”

“Is there a problem?” Elden interrupted.

Bedro shook his head. He had been ordered to treat Elden with the utmost respect and care.

“Then as I said earlier. We'll be going now.” Elden and Michael led the way upstairs as Felka followed.

“Right then, this is my stop.” Michael said to Elden. “ goodnight Felka, see ya tomorrow. “ He then went off to the room he was sharing with Ganesh.

Although the inn was  large, there weren’t enough rooms for everyone to be by themselves. And so the rooms were shared by pairs. However since there was an odd number of boys, Elden had ended up in a room all by himself.

He walked to the end of the hallway and opened the door with a key. It wasn't a luxurious room but it had basic necessities since the inn was aimed at merchants.

“I'll sleep on that bed,” Elden pointed while he dropped down Felka’s bundles if new clothes.

There were two separate beds for each of them. It was rather convenient that Elden had ended up in a room by himself.

“And you can sleep on the other.” Elden began to undress himself until he was left with a shirt and his boxers. Felka stood there.

“Oh right. I'll wait outside so you can wear your PJ’s.” Elden stepped out of the room and closed the door.

He waited for a while until he heard her across the door. “I’m dressed now,Master.” He entered the room and saw felka dressed in a long thin dress. He had expected Michael to buy her something like negligee for sleepwear. Elden was both happy and disappointed Michael had chosen something so normal for Felka. He shook his head to dispel thoughts most boys his age shared.

“Anyways, tomorrow morning we’ll be going to the dungeon so make sure to get some rest.”

And now back to the present, Felka followed behind her master as they stepped on a platform with inscriptions on the floor. This was a teleportation portal that would take you to anywhere from level one to the most recent cleared dungeon. In order to access other levels, the receiving teleportation platform had to be activated manually. They acted in a way similar to save points.

The teleportation platform sent them to floor 21, where Elden’s classmates awaited him. while his classmates left early and in a single group escorted by knights to the dungeon. Elden was given the privilege of being escorted by Bedro to the rendezvous point.

The teleportation finished and Elden walked forward to his classmates.

“Whoa! who’s the scrawny maid!?” asked Jakob as he pulled away from the rest of the classmates towards Elden.

“Yeah, she’s my new personal maid.” responded Elden as Felka bowed and introduced herself. “ A pleasure to meet you. I’m Felka. Master’s personal Maid.”

“Did she just say Master?” asked Zachary. “ That's hot.” quipped John as he smiled, only to receive a punch on the head from Riley. “Ouch, I was kidding Riley.”

The redheaded Riley turned her head ignoring her long-time friend John. Even the maids back at the castle never referred to them as master but rather always as my lord or my lady depending on which gender they were addressing.

“Hey! What the hell!?” Isaac —the class bully— pushed his way to the front. “Why does he get a maid!?” he complained to Bedro the Knight.

“Uhm that’s because uhm—” Bedro was unsure of what to say.

Back at the castle they each had been assigned two maids. Although they had to leave them at the castle as they were unable to bring maids with them to the dungeon.

“Hah!? isn’t it obvious.” Michael spoke out. Isaac turned around. “What’s obvious!?”. Michael smiled “Well isn’t obvious? Elden’s the Alpha ya’know. The top dog. It’s only natural he gets a few perks.”

“Ya lookin for an asswhoopin?” Isaac took a step towards Michael who inched himself closer to Elden.

“Yeah, hide behind your little boyfriend.”

Elden took a step forward as if covering Michael.Isaac noticing Elden’s movements backed off slightly.

“I kicked your ass before and I can do it again now.” Elden threatened.

“Hmph.” Isaac turned around towards Bedro. “I’m not helping then until I get a maid too.” Isaac started walking away while beckoning his goons. “Ah come on. Don’t act like a spoiled brat!” Jakob called out to Isaac.

Isaac and his goons began to walk away while Bedro ordered a knight to escort them back to the inn.

Elden also began to walk away. The classmates looked back at Isaac and then went and followed Elden. Some of the classmates started asking Felka questions as they walked deeper into the darkness.

And so the classmates set off to conquer the 21st dungeon floor
